Hedgehog Car Insurance

Really disappointed with the lack of response from customer service, I have made complaints no one calls back or any updates
I had paid my insurance in full
I had an accident which wasn't my fault, they wrote my car off but when I wanted to add another vehicle ,they wouldn't do this so ended up losing the money when I still had 6months left on my insurance.
Please avoid using cheap doesn't get you any customer service everything online which is ok but when an accident occurs you really need to spk to customer service which this company lacks in.

do not use this company as they DISCRIMINATE against people with a DISABILTY as they would not renew my insurance and when i asked why i was told 4 different reason by 4 different people so not only do they lie one excuse was my criterion had changed the only thing that changed is i now have a disabilty and yet i have 10 years no claims

had an accident, reported it, which then got transferred to a different company. Hedgehog had NO IDEA who this company was who had all my claim details. Had to make a new claim. they then LOST my car- didn’t know which recovery company had collected it. They have made NO CONTACT with me about the process of the claim it’s been 9 days and have not given me a courtesy car even though it’s included in my policy! Jus keep passing the book and blaming others! BEWARE!!!!!!

I’ve only been insured with hedgehog a few months now and based on my own experience and the other reviews I have seen I strongly regret taking out insurance with them. In the 12 years I have been driving and using several Insurance companies over this period of time never have I ever not been able to change my payment date to match the date I get paid. The date would only need to be changed by 1 week however I have been told this is not possible. Already this is causing problems and I cannot wait for my insurance to come to an end so I can go back to a more reputable company. God forbid if i need to actually make a claim with them.

I took out Insurance with Hedgehog in April 2019 and read the reviews on their other Trust Pilot site - I wish I had seen these reviews as I would never have purchased this policy.

All was fine until I needed to claim as my car was stolen. My keys were taken from my property with no sign of forced entry and they are stating that we did not take reasonable care with our keys. They have taken 6 weeks to come to this decision with us having to always call them and email them for any update. Last week they advise a payout figure and this week they say they wont be paying out. I am so stressed by this whole affair. I have complained and hope that they overturn their decision and uphold our claim, but if they don't I will be going to the Financial Ombudsman and FCA with my case.

Please avoid at all costs and as previous posts have stated, pay a little more for a better service.

Completely rubbish, I switched to a car which was half the price of my old one and was charged £60!! £30 was an admin fee, eh? It's an automated system, how can there be an admin fee, will not be renewing. AVOID THESE GUYS AT ALL COSTS.

I insured my vehicle with this company on 6th February as they were competitive. They wanted extra £90 for no 1 years less NCB which I paid. Then today 2nd March I received an email informing me they are cancelling my policy effective this evening for not declaring a claim when there are no claims to report. (HHM126206). Not only will they cancel my policy but also charge £50 for cancellation without giving me any options to continue.

So in summary dont try to save money and insuring with Hedgehogs - stay away or it will cost you more..

Website good, price is right but took a day for the website to take payment so 3 star

I found it very easy 2 do on line

Quite easy overall - Just one part of the on-line application form which didn't work smoothly on Chrome browser (Version 79.0.3945.130) when adding second driver details.

After leaving a 1 star review following an issue with the website stating my insurance quote I obtained from Money Super Market could not be honored, the customer service team emailed me a link to my quote within minutes, in which I was able to process. Thank you for picking this up so quickly. It was very efficient and provides confidence that even though we can't talk, you are there monitoring activity to ensure customers have what they require to proceed without too much hassle.

27/1/20 I’m Unable to contact over the phone to discuss & confirm verbally finer parts of the insurance policy.

The experience was OK got a bit complicated being as its my first time looking for insurance and having to seal with a broker then trying to find my insurance certificate I was looking on the brokers sight so was panicking weath I was insured or not then realised I was not dealing with hedgehog so went on that sight and very easy and straight forward there

Great customer service and was able to get car insurance within 20 mins great service

Quick easy application beat second lowest price by 200 pound!!!

I will write a good review if i have to claim and it goes ok if it dont then i will write a bad one i will rate them 4 for how easy it was to get insurance on line i will rate u more if i have to claim and it goes well

I needed to update my car details and the system made it so easy and simple, thankyou sometimes i struggle but this was a 5 minute job in the busy schedule I have

In my mind it's not possible to accurately review an insurer at the outset based on simply a buying experience !... my purchase was based on premium, however I did do a bit of digging and liked the idea of this being a challenger insurer albeit with a silly name... so far things are fine, we'll see how they react if I have the misfortune of a claim... so far my experience is indifferent.

Easy to purchase ... quick .... now hoping for a similar experience during the year (if need be)
