We contacted Hollywood Bathrooms and Kitchens as one of 5 companies for a bathroom renovation quote of our disgusing old bathroom. We found they they were very well priced, professional in their style and they came up with additional suggestions that improved the layout of our bathroom. During the contruction there were a few days of delay due to the rainy weather hence the render would not dry to permit waterproofing. The whole process other than this hickup proceeded smoothly and now we have a very clean and modern bathroom. We are looking forward to renovationg the ensuite in 1 to 2 years as funds again become available and will contact Hollywood for the same impressive improvement.

Contacted Hollywood as one of 3 to quote on a full bathroom reno - 2.5 bathrooms. They were excellent! Provided a comprehensive quote and assisted with strata approval. Easy to book in and stayed in touch throughout. Once they started, they provided times of when people would turn up, which they all arrived prompt and on time. The tradies they use are curteous, skilled and think logically. Also super friendly and helpful.
The end product is excellent! Not a single problem. Couldn't recommend these guys enough!

What should have taken 8-10 weeks took 6 months. Days would go by and no one would turn up to work. The sub contractors in all areas had no attention to detail. There were mistakes everywhere. Check the contract and have someone in the legal industry before signing the contract. There were variations from day one. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

I recently had a bathroom and kitchen renovated in a rental unit. All went very smoothly and all I had to do was choose handles for the kitchen. No quarrels with workmanship or time taken.

Hollywood Bathrooms and Kitchens renovated two bathrooms for us 5 years ago and we were very happy with their work. Recently we got them back to remove a wall in the kitchen to give a large open floor plan to the kitchen, living area and install a new kitchen. The only problem we found was the marble top we ordered was out of stock delayiing the project slightly but upon it becoming available the work proceeded and was completed promptly. We are very happy with our new kitchen/living area and when we move we will use them again.

Our nightmare with this company started over 2 years ago. Project Management was nonexistent – as shift workers we asked to be notified of days they would be arriving early, or not at all. This was obviously too hard for Ande and his office PA. Tradesmen let themselves in without knocking to discover one or both of us asleep.

The tradesmen either didn’t turn up or turned up on days they weren’t meant to. They left the house filthy each time, and caused considerable damage to our floors. The quality of the work was appalling. The tiles in the kitchen were not level – not even on the same plane. The floor was raised to a stupid height because they couldn’t be bothered removing the old screed bed and simply added a new one on top of it. The bathroom work was also atrocious – the tilers didn’t use tile trim around the door frame and it was disgusting to look at, let alone out of alignment with the door itself so at some points the tile were 10mm out from the wall and others 4mm. The floor was again done too high and the toilet wouldn’t fit.

We then went into dispute with them manager as he insisted that all work was “normal.” We terminated the contract and started to fight to get our money back. This itself was a process – he threatened us with legal action and offered up all sorts of excuses for his pathetic work.

Unfortunately, our experience with the CTTT was less than rewarding for us, and due to our inexperience we did not realise there was an appeal period until it was too late. Even though we didn’t get our money back, the loss of money to sack him and his mob was well worth it in the long run – they were doing significant damage to our property and the end result would have devalued our home, not the opposite.

“Fix your marriage” they say in their ad.. What a laugh.

Just noticed Sydney1 review and we shared the same experience - this mob did a kitchen and bathroom for us in the Eastern Suburbs in 2012 (so no; this is not a competitor review) same thing. Contract price competitive ($25,615 we supplied PC items), to get the job then your man cracks out the Variation Book (Variations total $9587.50), BANG the bloke wrote one variation for $357.50 (all variations on file) for a shut off tap washer (job was never done but- they did refund the money after we took photos and informed Hollywood that our plumber was prepared to sign a Stat Dec). Of course the Lino tiles "contained asbestos" BANG Variation $1980. Wanted bathroom mixer instead of two taps BANG Variation $220. Of course the bathroom floor was rubble and not concrete (he did warn us about this but not that the cost would be so high) BANG Variation $4225.
When you are half way through a reno you can't really get another builder to take over and you generally can't wait until you find another trades person to perform the variation at more reasonable price- so you just have to cop it!
Other stuff - splash-back delivered was not the colour ordered - (it was running last and just wanted the job finished and them outa there)
Hollywood's plumber cracked the toilet whilst installing it and just siliconed the broken piece back together. (Didn't notice this until 6 months after job completed). As soon as we queried excessive charges and poor communication and missed deadlines one office staff member pulled the "offended and outraged" card.
Since then we have put a second story on our house costing multiple hundreds of thousands and used a builder that was a pleasure to deal with and his variations were supplied with the tradespersons invoice with the builder's margin added. Some he didn't even add the builder's margin and just asked us to pay the tradesperson directly because he didn't feel justified in marking it up he "merely made a phone call"

Watch this mob and their variation tactics - personally I wouldn't trust them to sit the right way on a toilet seat!

We had a bathroom done by this company in 2011 and I can relate to everything Keith writes in the review below (no project management, ridiculous variations,shoddy joinery, finishing about a month over-time, constant battles whereby I had to quote my consumer rights as outlined to me by ACC etc...).We are now living with the consequences of the poor renovation (eg leaking out from door of frameless shower, as floor not sloping sufficiently). I am sorry to see that all these years later nothing has changed. I always giggle when I hear their radio advertising - as for sure they have to advertise - no word of mouth recommendations for this place.

We used Hollywood for the second time in 9 years, as we moved home which needed new bathrooms.
We found their quality to be good, the level of communication was very good from [name removed] the carpenter's attention to detail was great.
[name removed] was the linch pin to this project running well.
The only fly in the ointment was the cabinet maker, who caused the project to run late & his ability to organise himself left a lot to be desired.
The only thing that I would recommend is that they do a final walk through & re check before the project got started.
I would have no problems in recommending them to other people.
