I emailed Gordon about a problem I was having with my Vienna regulator - he gave me some really helpful suggestions which I (as an inexperienced person) could easily carry out, including exactly how to solder.
Gordon also has a cheerful, can-do approach and a huge enthusiasm for clocks which makes his advice interesting and even more useful.

Gordon at Horologica was incredibly helpful from the moment I first contacted him. He responded quickly to enquiries, explained things clearly, was very reliable about arrangements, advised as to the best course of action, checked with me at one point when there was an option to do extra work on my barometer, stuck to the agreed pricing, and provided clear guidelines. I inherited an old clock from my family and spent hours (literally hours) trying to track down the history of it. Had this Vienna clock in the family for years and never worked. I sent it to Gordon and in 6 day turn around he took the movement to bits, mended the springs, then cleaned and restored it back to working order. He even repaired a dent in the clock face rim. Later he contacted me by phone to guide me setting up the pendulum tick tock.
It's now back in it's case on the wall and keeping perfect time, a great job and a nice gentleman to chat to. My wife is delighted her family clock is now working in our home. Cheers Gordon

We found Gordon and Horologica after being told variously that the Hermle skeleton clock couldn't be repaired or could be at a cost of over £300 and with a 3 month wait. The clock had great sentimental value and I was keen to get it working again as soon as reasonably possible. That's where Gordon and Horologica step in. The clock was in fact not broken but just in need of a good clean and service so 24 hours later and for just the cost of a service, it is back where it belongs, ticking along nicely. I wanted to have my Grandfathers pre-1914 400 day anniversary clock repaired and running. Local repair shops would not look at this type of clock or quoted around £500 + vat. Finding Gordon on line was good news. From his website you can see he really knows his clocks and after exchange of emails I sent my clock. The clock was returned working and looking amazing after having been stripped down and cleaned.
