Insuranceline.com.au Reviews & Complaints (40)

I would give a minus 5 if I could. Apart from their "trained customer service" that is all I can really comment nicely on. I really hope these idiots read these comments because apart from the fact that I work in the legal system, I am ultimately inclined to sue them for false and misleading advertising under consumer law.

I had a very close relative pass away a couple of weeks ago, I spent the whole week prior to her funeral chasing up payment. The response was the same every time 'it has been processed, we don't know why it's not in the account'. Then their excuse was the bank must've rejected it must've been a technical error blah blah and we had to wait a week for the error to bounce back on their end. That was a load of crap and we knew it. I have never in my life been that stressed out and on top of all that I had someone close to me pass away, I ended up getting really sick from being so stressed out on top of being overly emotional. We are just so lucky we had an understanding funeral director. INSURANCELINE... FYI FUNERAL DEPOSITS ARE PAID BEFORE THE FUNERAL NOT AFTER!!!

We called again on the Monday after her funeral (keep in mind it's been a week since we made the claim, 24 hour fast processing.. yeah right), after we spoke to them and said how would you feel if you were in our shoes? Mind you the Thursday before her funeral I called and absolutely abused their claims correspondent, I did not want to hear a bar of it!!!! I asked to speak to their accounts team and he said that "they weren't trained to take phone calls" yeah right mate, not trained to talk bull if what you meant. So after all that on the Monday they called back and said they were going to transfer the money straight away and we received it that night after DAILY FOLLOW UPS AND CONSTANT HARASSING.

I have now decided to pull all our family accounts from them and am still contemplating to sue. WARNING to anyone who joins, the truth is they don't actually have these funds to pay you which is why they take weeks on end to settle it or may not even pay you. SAVE YOURSELF AND PULL OUT NOW!

I have had my funeral policy with Insurance line for 13 years. Today I received a letter informing me of an increase in my premiums of almost $5 per fortnight. The policy I had, was supposed to be fixed, and as far as I was aware, I was only ever charged for the inflation rate increase and nothing else. My policy had never increased by more than $1.50 and I was always informed that it was due to the inflation rate increase, I was supposed to be protected against any age stepping or I would have cancelled my policy a long time ago. When I phoned about the issue, I was told that they could see that I had had a conversation about it but apparently I didn't take it further. Are you serious? Then they try to convince me to staying with them and that they would wave the next 6 months. I told them to shove their policy because they are nothing but a pack of liars and that I couldn't trust them now.
I have cancelled my policy with Insuranceline and gone with Real Insurance who advised me that my policy will never go up, not even with inflation and the cost will only ever come down, never up. Real Insurance will wave my 12 month waiting on death cover and the cost of their policy is only $1 more than what Insurance Line's premium. Insuranceline said that the policy they had me under was going to go up every 5 years which means I could be paying around $60+ a fortnight by the time I'm 90 years old. With Real insurance, I will only be paying $27.71 per fortnight until I'm 90 and then it's free, yes free.

I took a funeral policy in 2004 as a level policy. In july 2009 insurnce line converted my policy to a stepped policy increasing my premiums from $124.06 to $200,23 in february 2014.When I complained they converted my policy I am now paying $230.63 monthly for a benefit of $9000 for myself and my wife. Do not insure with insuranceline tal or tower they will rip you off if you do not pay they cancel all your benefits and you get nothing
Asic reported in 2004 on the extensive cancellation of premiums and did nothing to stop the rot I give them minus 10. Now afca has not done any better

My name is Luke my dad Garry passed away a week ago. When I made contact with insurance line the people were friendly and considerate.

When I made my claim for insurance for my dad which he left me, it literally was smooth process and only took a few days to organise a deposit, within 5 days I had my dad's insurance money in my bank.

The whole process was smooth with no dramas, made it alot easier getting things paid for his funeral.

This a legit review n not fake.. they also organised flowers to be dropped off to my home which was such an awesome jesture.

I'll be doing my insurance for my lil family for my self..

Cheers guys ????????

I have been with Insuranceline for years and have found them to be excellent.

I personally have made three claims with them for family members who have passed away. Each time the staff have been helpful and respectful, showing the utmost empathy.
They have even sent flowers to the house !!
The claims have been paid with 48 hours each time... no questions asked.

I have also had friends who have made a claim and they have received the same service as myself.

I am surprised to read the other comments made on this site. Maybe Insuranceline need to look at their sales technique, as all the comments relate to this. However the insurance side of this company and the staff associated with the claims department are brilliant.

When my Mum was diagnosed with cancer, she was worried about paying for her funeral, of all things. So my husband and I took out funeral cover, to give her the peace of mind that at least THAT was taken care of. When the time came to make a claim, they were wonderful. They told us what we needed to do, followed up with an email, because, let's face it, who can keep their head straight during that time? They processed the claim as soon as they had the paperwork and the money was in the bank the next day. The nice touch, the thing I didn't expect from an insurance company - the beautiful bunch of flowers delivered to our door.
Thank you for making this awful time a little easier.

I don't know where they possibly got my number from but many times over the last week I had kept getting calls that would end as soon as I picked up. Today, someone finally spoke to me and they were from here. I told them I am not interested and thought that was it. Later in the evening they had called me again. I asked them to remove my number from the list. Let's see if that works.

I had never even looked into this company prior. If anything, calling me like this is going to make me NOT consider them in the future.

Insuranceline took two payments fortnightly from the start date of my funeral cover for what should have been one policy. I got a call from their call centre asking if I'd like extra cover etc... I said ok ... just by chance I got a printed bank statement which showed they had taken the original amount of 39.69 as well as what should have been the updated policy of 40.00 I called them today and they admitted it was a error and agreed to refund 119.07 but I said I do not trust them now and insisted they cancel the policy and refund the three payments of both policies...after 1 hour 20 minutes and speaking to three people the best they would offer me was they MIGHT process the refund by the 16th November.. I begged them to refund it today because I'm a pensioner this is in fact my food money for the month .... rude and aggressively delt with by the cancellation team leader , I hung up in despair. Their mistake.... my problem. I asked for a written apology and asked if as an act of goodwill would they give me three months free funeral insurance in order to keep my business....no way .I URGE YOU ALL TO CHECK YOUR BANK STATEMENTS FORTNIGHTLY . HOW MANY OTHER PEOPLE are being cheated by Insuranceline... I went with insuranceline for peace of mind but instead I ended up distressed and out of pocket and no funeral insurance... disgraceful...

My grandmother, 84, has been called hundreds of times over the past year by Insurance Line representatives. Even with five (5) funeral insurance packages from Insurance Line they continue to call, preying on her alzheimers and poor hearing, to drain every last cent from her bank account.
Don't trust anything any representative of Insurance Line says.
Avoid Insurance Line like a plague.
Constant Harrassment

The most unprofessional company I have have had to deal with, Claim has been going for 2 years they keep loosing paper work. Also have to fight them over my doctors name ( shouldn't I know who did my surgery) No apparently I have it wrong but never mind the surgeon they say who did my surgery doesn't even work in Sydney, They are happy to keep taking but god forbid they pay it back when needed.

They are happy to take a pensioners money for 10+ years on the promise that the small premium will never increase but then advise they are going to decrease the insuranced amount by $10,000 & then raise the premium on top of that, & then as soon as you turn 69 they cancel the policy.
When questioned the response was 'its cancelled because of your age & now you need to shop around for a new policy"
They then expect you to continue paying the premium for the next four weeks for a policy they have advised will be cancelled
Disgusting !!!
Absolutes rip offs !!!
Check your policy thoroughly...

It took 2 days to settle my mother's funeral insurance unlike Centuria life that has not yet settled my mother's funeral expenses. They are a good group who are sympathetic. Stay away from Centuria life which is another insurance company who deal with funeral insurance!

I signed up for Insuranceline's "Income Protection Plus" policy in March of this year because I was feeling some instability in the industry. The main reason I signed up is for the redundancy cover which covers you for 75% of your monthly income for 3 months. Anyway, I signed up and provided my savings account details and it was all good.
In September I received a letter saying I was in arrears because they couldn't deduct payments from my account, which is strange because there's always funds in my account. I called them and they said they would try it again. I gave my bank details again to make sure the payments were made. I called my bank and they told me there were no unusual transactions in my account and no payments were rejected for anything.
In October I received another letter from InsuranceLine saying they couldn't deduct payments again. I called InsuranceLine again to give my bank details and asked them to try again. My online bank account says there's plenty of funds to cover the $70 monthly payment.
At the end of October, I received a letter saying my account is in arrears again. I called Insuranceline to once again re-provide my bank details, and there's plenty of funds there and there's no restrictions on my bank account.

On november 1, i was made redundant by my company. The bad news was dampened because i knew my income was covered for three months. On november 4 (the following monday), i called to inquire about making an insurance claim for redundancy. The lady was really nice, we chatted about what happened and what i was covered for. She posted me a claim form and told me to wait out the waiting period (1 month) and the payments will be made the following month (end of december), so 2 months overall. However, on november 6 i receive a letter saying my plan has been cancelled!! What the hell?! So, this insurance company will cancel a policy once you inquire about making a claim?!!! Three times i provided my account details! I called to make a claim and the lady didn't say my policy was in any arrears in any way! Then two days after i inquired about my claim, they cancel my policy!!! I've contemplated the situation and my guess is insuranceline had some beforehand inside information about my company laying off people and purposely didn't deduct the monthly premiums so the policies will be cancelled.
This company has no integrity!!! Do not do business with this company!!!! And i will be calling today tonight if i don't hear from them the next couple of days.
The lady with whom I spoke to make my claim was nice
Unreliable, deceptive
