The chrome extension is effective where it allows you to view product sales information such as monthly revenue, monthly unit sales, daily unit sales, BSR ratings, reviews, and even a profit net calculator. This is highly effective in decision making when comparing and contrasting your potential market by looking at competitor's products.
The web app offers a variety of useful tools. I've only used the keyword search tool. There's a limited amount of searches (20 searches) with the basic package.
I use the chrome extension almost on a daily basis. The cost may seem high initially but definitely worth it overall. Then again, every business is different and we all have our different needs. I would suggest taking a good look at Jungle Scout's different pricing options and also comparing it to a competitor like Viral Launch. Viral Launch is more expensive but from what I've heard so far it seems their data is a bit more detailed (just an opinion).

Jungle Scout was in the wrong in all the negative feedbacks
It makes me suspicious signing up

I am hoping that since they are not responding to emails in a timely manner, they see this review and are able to refund my money. There was no confirmation page for what you are getting while signing up for the service, it is simply "put in your information" and BAM, you're stuck.
EDIT: as anyone reading this may see, they were able to correct the issue. I waited until the refund was received to update this review and am bringing my review to 4 stars (it was at one) for the ability to resolve it soon after I created this review. It seems as though if you want an issue resolved quickly, you need to leave a review, which in itself is worrisome, but I can understand it may be more difficult due to this covid stuff to operate a business as efficiently as before. They stated that they have "forwarded the issue to the product manager for their review and consideration". Hopefully the design of the site is improved as it is clearly impacting their reviews. I cannot rate them 5 stars because of these issues though, but I do have high hopes that their customer service continues to be able to resolve issues and that my experiences in the future are positive.

Apparently, after subscribing, JungleScout prompted us to sync our orders in order to utilize all the "features" of their software. We didn't really need these additional features, but figured we'd test them out since we were paying for the software anyhow. Of course, those prompts didn't warn us that if our orders were above certain thresholds, we would be charged WAY more than we'd signed up for. After JungleScout imported our sales stats they upped our fee without the slightest warning or notification either on our account after signing in nor via email. To top it off, JungleScout never sent 1 email with an invoice. To me, this implies that they are making every effort to hide their charges from sellers in order to swindle sellers into overpaying. Have you ever had an online subscription that didn't email you every time they charged you, nonetheless when they shift you into a new pricing tier that costs 4x more?? Of course, had I received any sort of notification I would have immediately canceled, but they probably know that and that's why they don't bother notifying customers.
My guess is that this deception is part of their tactics, in hopes that as sellers grow they can skim more from their customers and hope it gets through unnoticed, siphoning away your hard earned money. Even if you are a small seller, I would be wary to start developing your business practices around software built on such questionable tactics. If you decide to give it a try, just be aware of the pricing scheme.
My suggestion would be to look elsewhere, as there are other options out there with similar tools that are transparent with their pricing.
To JungleScout's credit, they did end up refunding the extra that was charged for those 4 months without too much of a hassle, but I doubt they will change their method of charging/notifying customers.
The software may be OK, but it's clearly backed by a company with questionable tactics that I would not be comfortable basing my business around. We tested another option at the same time and preferred their data and interface over that of Jungle Scout, at least for what we wanted out of the software.
TLDR - Beware of their pricing scheme that is not immediately apparent and that charges/increases automatically. You will receive no notification of charges or increases. There are other options, take the time to test out what's out there.

I did get a response from Jungle Scout a couple of days after posting my first review and they said they would fix the link and sent me the file I was promised....so, they are back in favor with me. Good company and respond to keep a good reputation. Well Done Jungle Scout!!
