Tried the wine and fruit and veg for the first time this week at the new store at Hersham, Surrey. Barolo at £9.95 was almost undrinkable. Tipped away after one glass. The staff are friendly and well trained and the prices are low, but the quality definitely suffers. Bottom end of the market in value. I will not be back.

Applying under 3 year guarantee. Excellent service by Pete in Lidl Customer Services. Very clear about options and pleasant conversation. (I buy a lot of ambient goods and fresh food through Lidl. Occasionally but rarely am I dissatisfied with quality - my preferred retailer.)

I really believe in supporting British/English companies, but this German company takes some beating. As a 74 year old living on a pension, price and quality are very important to me. They also only sell British meat and dairy products and source many items from UK growers and food processors. Quick checkout and friendly staff, make me a fan.

Yesterday Lidl sensibly limiting customers in, and then only essential workers from 7.30am with ID. That's a good idea, but the manager let in her friends who I know are unemployed, they then went onto load up their trollies. I can't see anything on website about new shopping hours, it's needs to be published, and then customers can challenge staff who are abuxing it.

The Isle was blocked, and a female worker then blocked it even more, with a trolley, type, not cage, unloading more, items by not even Allowing people to get past so I said to my children I'm going to have to do a detour to get over to the other side, as it was heavily blocked, the lady heard this and said out loud, when I moved away, people of today are so rude, I did not here her I was told by my partner the lady didn't realise she was with me, i then saw the Lady in a different aisle, going into the back, the lady eventually saw me and stopped looked at me, and I said I am not rude, I was not talking to you or looked at you, she walk down to me and approached me so I told her I can't get a bout, the shop everything is blocked, but I didn't say anything to you, as you know I didn't even go to you, I turn away and walked on, she then followed me and she was going on and on, she said I am working, I said I am shopping, and then looked away, again to the products, so i said just leave me alone, and tried to carry on, and then I said I don't want to talk about it, but she continued, shouting at me only to get everyone on approaching me, yes my voice was getting louder because I can't believe how I was being treated, I said look on your camera to the manager, but he was uninterested, and was rude in his manner, and did not care what I was trying to explain, oh so just believe your staff then check your camera, and I was told to leave, but I said I haven't done anything, check your camera, but the security guard got a till open for us to go, and told me to zip it, or you will be banned from the shop, then i payed and he spoke to me out of the shop and said I don't know what happened but me and my family are banned from the shop don't ever come in again, I said look at the camera and you will see I never approached her, or said any bad remarks, he then said, that I was attacking his staff, and said to me I don't care, just leave, the staff are rude at this store, they made the situation worse, and only believed the staff member, every aisle was a Hazard, stock everywhere, and this is typical not just for Christmas, the treatment was unnecessary, even a woman outside was agreeing with me, and she was not in the shop yet, as if she knows the security guard has been rede before, so definitely problems with the staff, not everyone complains enough, but my family two children were told to get out. My partner told me when we got home the female woman told the staff I swore at her which is totally rubbish, I did not thank you very much. If I was doing anything bad to this lady, then surely they would not give me time to pay for goods, plus the Lady followed me, Lidl Ringwood Road Bournemouth date 23/11/2019 time 13.34 on receipt

I visited this store this evening around 9pm today to purchase 4 pepsi bottles and 4 bottles of beer. 22nd June 2019. I suffer with carpal tunnel syndrome and sometimes struggle to pick up heavy items. I placed carefully 4 bottles of pepsi and 4 glass bottles of perlenbacher lager into my own large shopping bag and dragged them to the checkout. I explained to the cashier serving that I couldn't lift these heavy items and gave her a single bottle of each for her to scan and explained how many in my large bag I had, which by the way were very much visible plus your store manager saw me do this in the beer aisle. The cashier who only works once a week was rude to me and pushed passed me to check my bags. I am not disputing that she had a right to do so to prevent theft etc, however she didnt ask to check or even suggest that was her intention. I told her that I had nothing else and she gave me a look of disgust. I am a regular customer in that store and this is the 2nd time in 5 months that I have been made to feel victimised in this way in your store. The first time was regarding the security guard nick who thinks the store is his own and is a bully. Even your staff members, the nice ones agree with me. Anyway back to the matter. Your employee unpacked my bags, scanned all the items in my bag although I provided her with a single one of each to scan along with the quantity and she just dropped all 4 bottles of Pepsi ontop of the glass bottle. I'm annoyed by this point because I packed the bags to be able to leave the store so it was easier to carry out and she didnt care about the way she repackaged my bags upon assuming I was a thief. At this point I've told her about this and she shrugged her shoulders and said it wasnt her problem. I then walked out of the store, placed my items in my vehicle and returned to the store to get a replacement bottle as it was broken as a result of her incompetence. Your store manager at this point was assisting her with another customer and she took my bags off me as they getting the floor wet because the cashier broke the bottle. She denied doing this and denied that I explained I was struggling in the first place. Your manager was also very rude and it was only the nice male colleague who helped to diffuse the situation. It's a joke and both the cashier and the manager are complete and utter assholes. They have no clue how to speak to people and also made it clear that she was doing nothing about it. I purchased 2 bags on a previous visit and had to leave them there due to the broken glass within the bags and the beer too. I only had a replacement bottle and not replacement bags. I used to work for the warehouse in bridgend and always praised lidls for their products and store cleanliness and staff etc but this store in Newport house the worst staff I have ever encountered in my entire life.

When you decide to purchase tools from Lidl ignore the 3 year warranty promise. By all means buy them but be prepared for the statutory 12 months warranty. Lidl will put you in telephone contact with the manufactures agent who you will find unhelpful and on the edge of rude. By the time three years comes around the product is likely to be discontinued and that’s the end of the conversation. When I pressed for a better conclusion I was told to have a nice day and the phone abruptly put down. Lidl’s own customer service dept will read part of what you communicate and their bit part reply would fail a junior school test. Lidl’s in-house training to the customer service team seems to be to frustrate the customer to the point where they just give up and go away. I wonder if this will be a successful long term strategy

When I bought nuts at Lidl Peterborough on 18th June around 12:45pm, I could have returned then in an instant . These were loose nuts, 3 different kinds. I tasted each kind (there was no notice saying I couldn’t taste or mix them for myself )They all cost £1.30/100g. So I scooped them in the same bag! They’re mine aren’t they? When I got to the till, the cashiers first question “why did you put them in the same bag?” I said, they cost the same and they’re mine to take home. Next question, “How do you think I’ll do the itenerary? I said I didn’t know. Third statement, “I also saw you snacking “. By now I’d had enough! How I professional, what customer care service training are these cashiers given???

Just been informed that a Male customer managed to buy 23 whole chickens at LIDL Ryhope, what the heck is going on...surely this cannot be right as just the other day a woman was refused all of her dairy products as she had trays full in her trolley and ended up with being allowed to purchase about a 1/5th. Get a grip LIDL, be seen to be fair across the board.

Today I have been served by a Store Manager called Norris at the lidl shop based on longbridge road London. The shelf price was showing a discounted price on the shelf for the items I purchased but the price on the items was at full price. I told manager about this price issue but he was so hard and didn't want to listen and said the right price will scan at the checkout which was a full price. I did ask him if he could override it because the shelf price I was looking at when I took the products was different. He totally refused to do anything about it not even apologise . This experience left me really down about Lidl. They going to loose a customer because of this

I do like Lidl, but being on my own I don’t always want three or four lemons, large bags of carrots, onion, etc. The prices are very good value but I would like to be able to buy single items sometimes, the staff at the Staple Tye store in Harlow are very friendly and helpful which makes shopping there a nice experience. The range of products are also very good and getting more choices.sandra_c@

Lidl France not UK Frenchmale 1 post Lidle Montparnasse Unpleasant Experience Jul 13, 2019, 6:39 PM Save I am disabled on a wheel chair. As such I purchase somewhat larger quantities as I am unable to go shopping frequently. After spending three hours shopping I took my turn in the disabled check out lane. When my turn came and after the clerk started to check me out an angry manager came and stopped the process. He complained that I am buying too much. I must split my cart into two; check out the first half and pay for it; then go back in line and wait a new turn to check out the 2nd half of the cart. Yes unbelievable but that is what happened. I told her I have already waited 20 minutes my turn and I cannot do that. Then the manager said you cannot check out and proceeded to take away the shopping back to the store and asked other staff to return them to myself. I asked for a higher manager. She would not call one. When I remind she at last called somebody who said we will check you out but it was too late as already she took away all the shopping back wasting 3 hours of my time. I wrote registered letters to Lidle Manager Mr. Fuschs, top Hum,anm Resources and to Lidl headquarters in Germany. Two and half weeks later no answer from anybody. If you are disabled as you maybe discriminated against by no less than a Lidl manager. Also management does not care. The usual experience at most groceries is to be taken to the top of the lined if you are disabled and not to que in line twice for the same purchase. I will never go back to Lidl and I advise that if you are disabled avoid that store.

I visited the new Lidl in Witham Essex today. I emptied my small trolley and moved level with the assistant. She asked if I’d got anything else in my trolley. I looked at her quizzically as I didn’t understand what she meant. It then ‘clicked’ - she was asking if I’d got anything left in my trolley which I was hiding under my carrier bags (I actually didn’t put the bags in the trolley until it was empty!) I told the young lady that I was insulted to be accused of stealing. She was very apologetic and said she had to do it ! I felt embarrassed and humiliated. I asked to speak to a manager. He told me that some people were walking out of the shop without paying for items - I responded by telling him that I didn’t steal, and it was disgraceful! I don’t know of any other supermarket which carries out this humiliating practice. Suffice it to say, I will never visit Lidl again! Having spoken to family, friends and work colleagues about the incident, they too will not be visiting Lidl!

I shopped at Lidl in U.K. yesterday for the first time. It appears I was totally confused by the pricing system, although I felt that I had read the price against the item name! I estimated the shopping would cost around £85.00 , but at the check out it was £128.18. I am very disappointed, once home I checked the prices on the receipt and so many are not the cheap price I thought I would be paying. Buyer beware of their pricing system. Not a good experience for me and I personally would prefer not to shop there again. Today I will be comparing the prices at the 2 supermarkets I usually use. Also I think the store must have been very short staffed as from the minute we entered it was a complete mess of boxes everywhere and not neat and in order. This too I did not like. But I did like the contemporary glass doors on the chillers. I assume the chaos of stock not to be the norm as a lot of the shoppers seemed to be very surprised by this. It is a hurried way of shopping with no interaction from the check out staff. Not my idea of grocery shopping! Sadly dissatisfied!
