We instructed Linley Simpson street lane to sell our apartment September 19’. Dec we managed to sell but unfortunately it fell through January 20. Since then we haven’t had a great experience. James in sales unfortunately let’s the side down, came across as not really knowing about the market or having any negotiating skills. Neil is a nice guy but clearly has far too much to do. Promises to do things but unfortunately things don’t get done. Calls not returned and disappointment sets in. I visited the shop with the intention of taking it off the market with them. I entered the shop to be greeted by Jacob and Steve. (Rental side) I must say I entered absolutely livid and within minutes Jacob and Steve calmed me down. Jacob asked if we had thought about renting it out. We had but didn’t want the hassle if the truth be told. I cannot recommend Jacob enough, what a lovely young man. Certainly knows what he’s on about and had a lovely way about him. I was introduced to Jon, manager on rentals. He explained everything to do with renting and advised to have a ponder on what he had said. I received an email that afternoon. Rental side is very professional. They are all on the ball and eager to help. They were instructed within a couple of days, the day it went on the market we obtained a tenant. I’m blown away how two sections in the same shop can operate so differently. I highly recommend the rentals division of Linley Simpson. I can honestly say both Jacob and Jon are very professional and I am pleased I went in that day and spoke with Jacob first. Well done Jacob and Jon.

I would not recommend Linley & Simpson Ripon because they over valued my home to get me to sign up.. they produced only about 5 vieiwings over the 13 weeks contract as a result.. it was a very sad , disappointing and stressful experience. I would not use them again.

In completing this process, all members of staff have responded quickly and given me all the necessary information, this is particularly welcome given that I am new to the area. Emily Bell - dealt with her mostly. She was very helpful, really tried to speed things up for me, answered my questions and was really good at keeping me informed all the time of the latest situation. Also Alexander Atkinson who helped out whenever Emily wasn’t in the office.

Overall, they were easy to deal with and managed to sort out the issues that were present. The condition of the property when it was handed over to us was poor. Mould etc on the couch and mattress. However, after getting on linleys case they managed to sort it out. There were also the various occasions when we had estate agents come around to deliver a viewing with very little notice and sometimes with no notice. As a whole they did improve, and my case may be a solitary one.

Following the successful completion of the sale of our apartment, I felt I had to say a huge thank you to you and your colleagues, not just in relation to this sale, but also for all the help and advice you have given us over the many years your firm has been managing the property for us. I had better not list all of those colleagues of yours with whom we have dealt over the years for fear of missing someone important out, but I hope you will be able to convey our thanks and appreciation to all of them. The service we have received from your firm has been consistently excellent, whether it has been keeping us up to date with new legislation, or reminding us of key dates, or handling the financial side of things so efficiently, or just generally sorting out for us all the attendant problems of owning a rental property. All done with a minimum of fuss and a surfeit of courtesy from everyone involved. I am not sure we will be dipping our toes back in the rental property market soon (!), but I would unhesitatingly recommend Linley & Simpson to anyone else thinking of doing so. Thank you all again.

I met her in person twice during the viewing stages and she was both enthusiastic, friendly and also super efficient at consistently keeping me updated on progress and co-ordinating solicitor and mortgage advisor.
