Before I wrote this, I read the other reviews to see if, based on reviews, the experience I had was just a fluke, but it was not.
I have to say this company seems to have NO customer service and shoddy management, to say the least.
I filled out the questions and noted that I don't eat pork or lamb, you can "unclick" those options. When I then went on to see my choices, every other choice was pork. Seriously, the very first thing they put in my box was pork. May seem silly, but why ask us?
I sent an email asking about it, just curious. Because, if I got busy and forgot to check my box, obviously they'd have no problem putting in a pork product that would not be acceptable to this family.
It's been three weeks and no response other than the generic, "we are busy and will get back to you when we can."
I immediately cancelled my subscription, but was told that my box (slated for two weeks from that date) was already being built and it was too late to cancel. I had signed up about 15 minutes prior.
I then get an email saying that the recipe cards may not be in the box and I could "google" the recipes. WHAT? I know how to google and I understand things happen, but again, reading reviews.... happens a lot here.
Got the food yesterday - it seriously looks like they gave it to toddlers and they just tossed things in bags willy nilly. While I am not a foodie, I'd like to think presentation meant something...... Clearly it doesn't. It is missing ingredients and THEN! When you read the card, you realize that you need three to four other big ticket items on some of the recipes. Like eggs! Again, I have eggs, but why am I providing ingredients? Isn't the point that my meals come ready to make?
Recipe cards - received 2 out of three and both were Xerox copies I can barely read. One of the reasons I like the services is the great recipe cards - they are great to keep and reuse but these are a hot mess.
I will go back to some of the other really great meal services - there are great ones out there and similarly priced, so no need to feel like, as a customer, I am not worth their time for quality service.
Bye Martha.
On a side note, food was delicious for my first box. Though it didn't get the garlic in that shipment. Didn't get to eat any of the meals on my second.
Both were delivered late with no notice until after they should have been here.
Both were missing key ingredients and a few pieces of produce were almost rotten.
The last order was missing key ingredients in 2 of he 3 orders.
I called but they said they are not picking up the phone,
I emailed but the auto response was that they were too busy.
Two weeks after I emailed I was told I'd get free shipping on my net box.
That's crazy. I put it in dispute with my credit card company.
I get that things are rough but they need to communicate better and simply checking the bags to make sure the ingredients are in there is the minimum they could do.
I cannot simply run to the store to replace these items so it means the meal is seriously different and the recipe cannot be used.
I wouldn't use it right now - maybe it will improve later
