I have gotten around 10 boxes or so and at first it was minor issues like missing garlic or missing recipe cards, etc. Small issues but nothing major that I couldn't work around. When I reached out to customer service about missing ingredients I never got a response. (This was long before COVID-19). Starting in March my boxes started being delayed by a few days. I understand as they sent out an email regarding possible delays due to Covid-19 however it is inconvenient because I buy these meals because it makes meal planning for the week easier. It really defeats the purpose for me when I don't know when my meals will arrive. The latest box I got was 5 days late. I was missing a meal entirely, the ravioli was split open and unusable, the eggplant and tomatoes were rotten, and the yogurt and whole grain mustard exploded all over the box. The only salvageable items were the meat and a few other miscellaneous items. I tried calling customer service immediately and it said they weren't taking calls and I'd need to reach through the website or app. I sent an email detailing all my issues and letting them know I wanted my money back and to cancel my subscription. The next day I got an automated email telling me my account had been discontinued. I never received a response or a refund and the concerns I had were not even addressed. I use several meal delivery services (Home Chef, Hello Fresh, and Blue Apron) and they are all a thousand times better. Issues arise and that is understandable. Forgotten ingredients, delayed deliveries, damaged product can happen with any of the companies. However with Marley Spoon it happens EVERY DELIVERY and what makes it worse is their customer service couldn't care less.

Very upset. Received a box with one strip of tape -on one side, so the box was opened. All the proteins were thawed, everything was sweating. Cant eat any of this for food safety concerns. What a waste.

Received 3 shipments so far. 1 had missing ingredients and the other had a missing meal. Customer service consists of email. Not very thrilled with the service. The meals are good and easy to make so far.

Horrible customer service. I received a box with trash, an opened packet of cream cheese and an empty plastic container of sauce among the other food items. I sent an email to customer service 2 weeks ago. Never resolved. Can’t reach anyone on the phone either.

Worst ever. Martha would be embarrassed. Boxes look like a 2nd grader packs them weekly. Last box received was broken open and contents damaged and destroyed. You would think this is just a shipping issue, but it is a bigger issue. Marley Spoon doesn't take your calls regarding service issues..to busy.. COVID-19.....so they email you one week later with $15 off your next order. Poor customer service. Such a shame. Asked my friend what she thought and surprising she is having the same experience.

Over the 3 years of off and on use of Marley Spoon, I finally shut it down. They have become the needy neighbor that wants a cup of this and a pinch of this. They have decreased ingredients more and more. First they quit sending butter, then flour and sugar, then mustard, apple cider vinegar, sour cream, etc. I got tired of the last minute needs. The deliveries were often full of sloppy seeping meat and potatoes were always frozen and bruised and that's not fixable. I got tired of filling in my own ingredients and working with flimsy perishables.

TERRIBLE customer service! We have been customers well before the COVID-19 issue arose. Apparently, this company has taken on so many new customers that it can no longer service existing customers. Our deliveries over the PAST THREE WEEKS have been so late that the ice packs were melted and we had to throw the food away. Yesterday we got the delivery FOUR DAYS LATE, and the cucumber was covered in mold and the greens disintegrated. Emailing customer service has been useless. This is giving the Martha Stewart brand a black eye!

It is rare that I sit down to write a review unless it's very bad or very good. Unfortunately, this experience has been very bad.

Before I wrote this, I read the other reviews to see if, based on reviews, the experience I had was just a fluke, but it was not.

I have to say this company seems to have NO customer service and shoddy management, to say the least.

I filled out the questions and noted that I don't eat pork or lamb, you can "unclick" those options. When I then went on to see my choices, every other choice was pork. Seriously, the very first thing they put in my box was pork. May seem silly, but why ask us?

I sent an email asking about it, just curious. Because, if I got busy and forgot to check my box, obviously they'd have no problem putting in a pork product that would not be acceptable to this family.

It's been three weeks and no response other than the generic, "we are busy and will get back to you when we can."

I immediately cancelled my subscription, but was told that my box (slated for two weeks from that date) was already being built and it was too late to cancel. I had signed up about 15 minutes prior.

I then get an email saying that the recipe cards may not be in the box and I could "google" the recipes. WHAT? I know how to google and I understand things happen, but again, reading reviews.... happens a lot here.

Got the food yesterday - it seriously looks like they gave it to toddlers and they just tossed things in bags willy nilly. While I am not a foodie, I'd like to think presentation meant something...... Clearly it doesn't. It is missing ingredients and THEN! When you read the card, you realize that you need three to four other big ticket items on some of the recipes. Like eggs! Again, I have eggs, but why am I providing ingredients? Isn't the point that my meals come ready to make?

Recipe cards - received 2 out of three and both were Xerox copies I can barely read. One of the reasons I like the services is the great recipe cards - they are great to keep and reuse but these are a hot mess.

I will go back to some of the other really great meal services - there are great ones out there and similarly priced, so no need to feel like, as a customer, I am not worth their time for quality service.

Bye Martha.

Box was thrown together with 2 blind eyes. Recipe card for one meal was Xerox copy that lacked toner, could not read it and the meal for 4 was missing 2servings. The other meal didn't even have a instruction card, we are suppose to guess how to cook it. Nobody answers the phone, nor can you leave a message. You have to wait 3 days for a response. My box is totally useless and in 3 days it will be even more useless. Such a lack of accountability on putting the box together. Obviously you cannot handle the additional customers you choose to keep adding. Good luck if you continue to order from this company, I suggest you have backup meals planned for the disappointing box you may or may not receive. Along with the ingredients and instructions you may or may not receive.

The customer service is terrible. Or lack there of, I should say. My package was delivered WITHOUT ANY OF THE MEAT for the recipes. I have been trying for 5 days now to get some kind of acknowledgement. I am not even getting that. This was only my second box, but I cancelled today. If you don't care about my business, then I don't care about giving you my money for product that isn't even delivered.

On a side note, food was delicious for my first box. Though it didn't get the garlic in that shipment. Didn't get to eat any of the meals on my second.

I would not even give a star if I could. This company is horrible with customer service! They do not answer emails or calls or Facebook messages. I received a box a day late and the box was ruined. So I paid 76 bucks to throw food in the trash. Save your money and go with another company that has better customer service!

I've ordered twice.
Both were delivered late with no notice until after they should have been here.

Both were missing key ingredients and a few pieces of produce were almost rotten.

The last order was missing key ingredients in 2 of he 3 orders.

I called but they said they are not picking up the phone,

I emailed but the auto response was that they were too busy.

Two weeks after I emailed I was told I'd get free shipping on my net box.

That's crazy. I put it in dispute with my credit card company.
I get that things are rough but they need to communicate better and simply checking the bags to make sure the ingredients are in there is the minimum they could do.

I cannot simply run to the store to replace these items so it means the meal is seriously different and the recipe cannot be used.

I wouldn't use it right now - maybe it will improve later

My wife and I have been using a food service for the past 3 years with pleasant results. Thought we would try Marley Spoon. It was a bad decision on our part absolutely the worst food I had ever eaten. Tried 6 meals and threw 4 of them in the garbage. If they served this food in prisons there would be riots. We will be returning to our previous food service

My last two orders were so messed up it was ridiculous. My next to last order had the meat for the meals I ordered, but they sent the wrong recipe cards and the wrong meals except for the meats. So- the meats didn't go with the two meals I actually received (i had ordered and paid for 4). Customer service never answered my calls/ texts/ emails/ chatbot complaints, etc... but it was too late to cancel my next order. It came and the meats, once again, were for the meals I ordered as well as the recipe cards. BUT the meals were totally different. So once again I have meats that don't go with the meal. Any reply this time from customer service? No. Doubt I'll get a refund and I definitely cancelled my order. When I started looking around, a lot of people have similar stories....

The recipes are somewhat complicated for the lack of flavor that results. Missing ingredients, wrong meal packages, spoiled ingredients, and poor customer service. I do not recommend this meal kit delivery service. Beware.

On my second box, I was missing the two main ingredients for 2 of the 3 meals: the pork for pork tacos and the cheese ravioli for a ravioli dish! Needless to say, I couldn't make the dishes. Unfortunately too, I'd planned my grocery shopping around this box, so didn't have much else as a backup. In this time with the pandemic, quick trips to the grocery store don't happen. All the customer service offered me was a $25 credit toward my next box. $25 doesn't even cover the two meals, and when you don't get the food, a refund should be issued rather than a credit. Terribly disappointed. I've tried most of the other companies: Hello Fresh, Sun Basket, Blue Apron, etc., and this is by far the worst service I've gotten. Try a different company.

Quite disappointed with this one. Not at all what I anticipated. Expensive and bland for what you are receiving. Example- I received a Gnocchi dinner- a package of gnocchi, canned tomatoes , wilted basil, small package of “pizza spice and romaine lettuce. Exciting! NOT. Subscription cancelled. High carbs, high calorie, high fat with small taste. I do not recommend.

I have been a loyal customer of Blue Apron for years and the only reason I cancelled them was because I wanted a 4 day option instead of a 3 day. I didn't know how much I appreciated Blue Apron until I got Marley Spoon. First, the packaging is inferior. If you don't get to your box soon in warm weather, much of your produce will be ruined. Except for the meat/fish, nothing is kept cold, so often my spinach, basil, tomatoes, etc were wilted and ruined. The chicken was among the worst we've ever had. It was tough and inedible. Key ingredients were missing. Curry chicken? Let's leave out the curry paste! The recipe cards are not as clear up front as Blue Apron's. You HAVE to read through the whole thing before you start. You don't have to with Blue Apron, saving time. I do not recommend Marley Spoon. I highly recommend Blue Apron.

I guess the review would be zero if they had one. My daughter placed an ordered and received several notices their shipment was delayed. Finally today she was notified that her order was cancelled. What’s up with that. Are they still in business.
