In my opinion TERRIBLE SERVICE! Miscalculation of conveyancing cost us $615.37 extra. Very hard to contact for help! Tried to double charge us for some fees. When asked to fix up stuff up of conveyancing they gave us the runaround and then just stopped taking our calls. Could not run a chook raffle. AVOID.

I recently used Ownit for conveyancing for the sale of my apartment.

Ownit said on their quote that their fee was all inclusive and unlike other conveyancers there were no extra hidden fees.

When I got to the end of the process and about to settle I first find out about a settlement agent fee of $74 to be paid. This fee had never been disclosed to me before. If they chose to outsource the attendance at settlement I don't see why I should pay the fee. I thought that was what I was paying Ownit to do!

Also just days before settlement they sent me an email following up on the transfer forms for the sale of the property. I had sent them these forms 2 weeks earlier by registered mail and had verification they had received them. I was not impressed to be put into this last minute panic. They eventually found the forms thankfully!

Otherwise the experience was fine. Very friendly etc but the hidden settlement agent fee really annoyed me. I don't mind paying what I should for a service but felt swindled at the end of the settlement process and it put a bad taste in my mouth.

If they had been upfront about these costs I would probably have used the electronic settlement process which would have cost about the same.

We have used this company on 2 occasions now. The first was to buy a property for our mother, and the second was to sell our property and buy land. The quotes you get online, are cheaper than what it actually ends up costing you. Because not all searches are included and there are also conditions on that price, like the time frame to settlement, if you want a quick settlement it will cost you more, anything trivial costs more, read the fine print and do your research before using them.

The communication from them is very poor, it's either over-complicated (emails with pages full of bright yellow highlighted instructions about all the stuff you have to do) or you just feel left in the dark with no idea what is happening. It leaves you wondering what you are paying them for, you just don't feel like you are getting a service. I had to always chase up for information about settlement figures, times and money transfers, these things always seemed to be left until last minute. Even emails many times were unanswered, or if they were it was days after. In our first transaction an email containing all the paperwork to be signed did not arrive because it went into the server junk mail due to the large amount of attachments. This important paperwork that had not been received or returned to them, was not followed up until last minute, leaving us in a stressful situation running around risking a later settlement.

All communication is by email, so you never know if something hasn't arrived. No hard copies get sent, so too bad if you don't have a printer or scanner because it all has to be signed and returned to them.

I absolutely do not recommend this company for conveyancing. In our last contract they actually didn't pay for water connection fees included in the contract. They were contacted after settlement by the seller, and they didn't bother to let us know they had had this correspondence, they had dusted their hands clean of us, and left us to find out weeks later when we were waiting for building approvals, which were not being passed due to this money not being paid at settlement.

Don't do it, pay a few dollars more and use someone else who is reliable and more professional.

Dianne King from Ownit Conveyancing is an absolute superstar when it comes to conveyancing! I recommend her to all of my clients both purchasing and selling as I know she will provide a high level of communication and advice throughout the sale making it an easy process for all parties involved.

They had gross negligence and it's a shame that there is currently no association to govern this kind of misconduct. After settlement, I received a letter from a solicitor representing the previous owner of the apartment, saying they are taking action to sue me. I had to spend quite a bit to engage a lawyer to fix the issue. Never, ever will I use them again and I recommend all my friends and everyone here to stay clear of this so-called conveyancing firm. You are the helpless one as they are representing you during the entire settlement process. If they handle the task terribly, trouble goes to you, not them. So choose smartly.

Shonae Buchanan did the best job under very trying circumstances thanks to Con 19 Emails and calls always attended to in a very timely manner assistance in dealing with a long distance client and I really appreciated all she did.

I hope this review saves someone from this company my property settled on Monday 25th May 10 days later after numerous emails and phone calls I am still owed money from this incompetent business.I am now forced to lodge a complaint with the Legal Services Commision to attempt to recover my money.

We went with Ownit Conveyancing and completely dealt with Georgia Hunter. We found her very approachable and responsive to replying to all our questions and answers. She dealt with her both for the sale and the purchase of our properties. I would highly recommend dealing with this firm as they gave us value for money.

We searched online and found that this business has an active Facebook page with 598 followers. From our experience this can indicate that the business is either not actively engaged with online communication or is new and growing. We have discovered that this business has SSL (secure sockets layer), which means that this business handles your data, such as personal information or credit card details, with secure connection. We found that the domain for this business is older than two years which could be an indication that this is a trustworthy business with an established customer base and experience in their field. We found that this business has an Instagram page, where they communicate with their customers using images and videos. This is usually an indication that the business has some visual aspects that it wants to showcase.
