With so many phony reviews, and with this site it seems reviews are either 1 or 5 stars. I thought maybe the 1 star ratings were phony. NOT! I ordered 12.26.2011 and it is 1.31.2012. WTF? Haven't heard anything, can't get anyone on the phone. They clearly advertise way more lines than they have inventory trying to run a minimum working capital ecommerce site. Maybe they accumulate orders till they can get a container load shipment discount from the factory in Asia. Don't even think about it. Imagine a pizza joint that promises to deliver 30 minutes AFTER they get around to finally ordering and recieving a shipment of flour and order and take delivery on the cheese, etc. Might be 30 or 35 or 40 days + 30 minutes, but a deal is a deal.

I was hesitant to buy frames online, it's just one of those areas I hadn't come around to yet. I went shopping for frames initially at some local stores. I almost bought a pair but decided to see if there were any buying options online.

In my searching I came across ShadesEmporium and since I had the model of the frames and the size already, it made things even simpler. The discount price was great.

I've received my frames and can say I am very happy with them and I've been telling my friends that next time they look for frames, they should check out ShadesEmporium. I hope these last a good many years but when it's time for new frames, I'll be back!

Be prepared to wait weeks or months for your sunglasses, because they don't stock anything. Be prepared to waste time calling their 800#, because they will never call back and have admitted it. Be prepared to never get a response to any emails you send asking for status of your order. Be prepared for them to want a $35 cancellation fee, after they finally get your glasses in stock and decide to respond to your multiple requests to cancel the order. Be prepared for them not to care at all that they have not responded any of your requests for weeks, and have no clue what customer service is....

I found a pair of sunglasses on the website that I had been trying to find for months. The site said they had 5 available, so I placed my order, entered my credit card number, and got a confirmation email saying it was all set. The next day I got an email saying my item was back ordered, and that my order had been canceled. So I went back to the site to see if it said the item was back ordered, but it still said that there were 5 available. Seems suspicious. Had I known the item was back ordered, I never would have entered my credit card information. ALSO, instead of just canceling my order, I would have preferred them to offer to put my order on "hold" or something so that when a new shipment of the item arrived I would have first dibs on them. I don't know, that just seems logical. I wish the site would mention that an item was back ordered before ordering it. It seems very suspicious and I don't think I'll order from this site again.

Ordered a pair of sunglasses on 12/20. I even called ahead to makes sure they would arrive by Christmas. I was told the sunglasses were in stock and would arrive in plenty of time as I am a mere 50 miles from them. Well, it is now 12/28 and I have yet to receive the glasses which were to be a gift for my son. I tried calling but after being placed on hold for over 30 mins the two times I have called I have given up. I'm hoping the glasses arrive sometime this week, but as one can tell by many of the reviews on this site, expect to wait a while for your items.

UPDATE-

I am not worried about receiving my glasses. I'm sure they will come eventually. My concern is the fact that I was LIED to on the telephone. I was told the glasses were in stock and was ASSURED that I would receive them by the 24th.

I love the sunglasses and will definitely come to you guys for all my future purchases! Just wanted to say thank you! You guys were great assistance too when the website was having issues and I was trying to order. Good customer service. Perfect Christmass present :)

I was very pleased with the purchase of my Barton Perreira sunglasses purchased recently. I lost a pair of Barton Perreira sunglasses right before I went on a vacation and I was able to purchase the same pair for cheaper than the original pair I purchased a few months earlier. The sunglasses arrived in terrific condition with no hassle in time for my vacation. Thank you! Keep it up and I will be back for Dita next month

I order frames (demo lenses) in December. They arrived a few weeks later and did not fit. Since that time, I tried exchanging them.. which resulted in a bad experience and waste of time. First model I chose (based on web choices) was no longer available. So I picked a second style, but turns out that one was not available either(back ordered to 2/18). So after Feb 18th (estimated back order date) I asked for it, and it turns out it is back ordered again (April). So I asked for a refund, but they still stuck to their policy of refunding minus 20% restocking. It's not like I did not want to exchange them! If they don't have the products that are shown online, there is nothing I can do. In the future, I am making sure I dont buy from this website. It has inconvenience written all over.

I was definitely satisfied with my experience with Frames Emporium; though at the beginning I was having doubts due to having to contact them in regards to when to expect shipment of my order, as it took about 7 days for them to ship them out...possibly because they were coming from the manufacturer. I sent them an email thru customer service and got a reply with 24 hrs. and felt better. They were sent out and received within 4 days. Once I received my 2 pr. of glasses, I exchanged one pair and had no problem receiving an authorized no. needed to return/exchange my glasses. They responded within 1-2 hrs. I am presently waiting for the exchanged pair and am confident I will be satisfied with them. I am also thinking about ordering another pair I liked online...the prices are definitely competitive with other online companies....though, I believe the prices may be lower due to many frames being discontinued 1-2 yrs. prior...which is OK. with me, as I still liked the frames and could not find them in my optical store in town as that style was discontinued.

I ordered shades a few days before Xmas.I knew the'd be late but after 3 weeks no glasses so I called & was told they were back ordered.We waited & still no glasses. We called again, the automated system requested that a message be left & stated someone from their co. would call back. Three times we called & left messages over a 2 wk period, no call back.Finally an online chat rep told me that they had been d/c'd. I wanted to know why no one had returned our calls. I was told the company has no public relations dept and that they never return calls to that phone number. I get that things happen but why didn't this company who claims to be so upstanding not contact me to advise that the item was no longer available.When i finally heard from a supervisor he did not want to discuss the customer relations issues he wanted only to discuss my order. I'm not a fan Shades Emporium.I wonder how many other unhappy campers are out there??

Friendly customer service, price is nobody can beat, product was delivered within time frame specified on their website, great packaging.... Product is 100% as described....

I recently purchased a pair of Bevel eye glasses and hi index lenses, shadesesmporium even price matched from another web site. The glasses were shipped only a day or two after my order was placed & arrived in California only a few days after that! The frames & lenses are authentic brands! Absolutely PERFECT!!! Thanks Lee

I dropped and stepped on my favorite pair of sunglasses that I had bought in LA 2 years ago. Imagine how thrilled I was to find them on your website! Even sweeter...your price was $30 less than I had paid for the first pair. But wait...it gets even better...you also had 4 colors available. So I ended up with a replacement in my favorite color and an extra $30 in my pocket!

I found a pair of Oliver Peoples Basel (COCOBOLO JAVA POLAR) on another website for $276.

I did the price matching because Shades Emporium was selling the same pair for $327. I asked them if they could combine their $10 Facebook coupon with the price match and the lady on the phone (who sounds middle eastern) said they usually dont combine coupons but that she would make a note for their "price matching team".

I got an email with a coupon code and in the email they stated that they usually dont combine coupons but that for my request they did. I was really pleased to hear that. I proceeded to check out only to find that my discount coupon was only worth $12!!

I called the lady back and told her that the discount should have been $51 instead of $12. She said that she would let their "price matching team" know.

So after Shades Emporium realized they price matched another color of the Basel model (without JAVA POLAR lenses) and that my discount really should have been $51 + $10 (Facebook) = $61, they sent me an email saying. OUR POLICY IS WE CANNOT COMBINE COUPONS. AND THE WEBSITE DOES NOT FALL UNDER OUR PRICE MATCHING POLICY.

*Note: Shades Emporium had no problem with my price match when it was $12 and they have no problem combining two coupons when it was worth $12. However when the discount came to $51 (without the Facebook coupon) they said that they couldnt match the price because the website I found didnt fit policy. The website seemed to be no problem when the discount was $12.

**Note: their price matching policy is no where to be found while you are matching prices on their website. Not saying its not on their website but its not where its supposed to be.

OVERALL: Unprofessional and they're not even an authorized dealer according to Oliver Peoples. Will be notifying the BBB.

I placed an order with Shades Emporium yesterday. I checked my bank statement this morning, and they have put in the charge authorization 2 times (my product cost $123.00, and they put in 2 authorization holds, totalling $246.00).

I called them to raise this issue. The woman insisted there were no problems, and that they did not actually charge my account - it was only an authorization. That is fine, but I kept trying to explain to her that they double-authorized me. She told me there was nothing I could do and told me to call the bank.

My bank was able to remove the 2nd authorization.

EXTREMELY UNFRIENDLY, RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I have no idea when my product will come because they have not provided me yet with a delivery date, and have not fulfilled my order. I just hope my product comes on time.

I have sent them an email at [email protected] telling them about this issue.

Save yourself the hassle and shop somewhere else. This company offers prices 25% less, and you can find some additional $10.00 coupons online. But you will have the worst customer service experience.

I live in a seaside town where summer is main part of the year, and good shades is a must have. I ordered glasses from Shades Emporium and I am very happy with those guys, shades are great, price was low, and shipment came to Greece within 10 days - excellent!
