I subscribed to the free version for now as I only have ten stocks and not a lot of free money to throw around. Once I am more financial, I will certainly pay for this, as it is easy to use and very informative, much better than spreadsheets.

I have been an investor for many years, tried lots of sotfware for management of my porfolios. Sharesight is the best I have used. they way it auto populates dividends, purchases etc is fantastic. By using sharesight I have been able to
get a clearer understanding of my investments. Definitely recommend it to you

I have been using Sharesight for 3 years and will never be going back to spreadsheets. It has hugely reduced stress at Australian tax time. My only gripe is that Sharesight have not passed on much new functionality in recent years.

I have added three portfolios that I have previously accounted for in spreadsheets. A very labour intensive task over the years and possibly not ideal if the ATO come auditing in terms of providing all data in a way they want it to be presented.

Sharesight took me many days to get right. Most time due to errors by me in not understanding the system but you learn, eventually. One major error was with me importing data twice etc but now it is set up I have a comprehensive record of all share costs if sold. I also have a snapshot of the current position including unrealised gains for tax management. In addition I have a reliable record to check that all dividends are received and accounted for, including the pesky offshore ones with varying withholding tax.

A bonus was the Sharesight automated response for each investment as to past dividends and overall returns. Provides a pleasant surprise as to just how much income has been earned. It also handles issues like capital returns from years ago without being prompted. Much easier than scouring through files or google for reference data.

Come July the share portfolio reporting for tax is going to take minutes and not the usual hours.

Hard work to get sorted out but 3 portfolios and an average number of holdings somewhere between 30 and 40 in each, accumulated over many years, you would reasonably expect that it would take time. Very happy with the little amount of work required going forward from here.

I stumbled across Sharesight a couple of years ago. Wish I had found it much earlier as it has enormously simplified my record keeping. A very helpful section is Share Checker. I use this frequently when researching new stocks. It is a bit limited in the time periods eg. 2, 5, 10 years. Great customer service.

Hi Investors,
I have been investing for 30 years way be for there were off the shelf computer programs to track portfolio's. I found Sharesight while on google, boasting that Sharesight could track portfolios and dividends accurately, I was sceptical but tried it. I couldn't believe how it automatically updated my portfolio and dividend, franked, unfranked, distributions etc and it talks to my stock broking account Commsec transferring buys and sells seamlessly. I have been using it for 2 years and now give my accountant a Sharesight PDF of my EOFY results. I highly recommend it. I run 4 sizeable portfolios with it.

Hi have spent va fair amount of time trying to use free 10 holding portfolio, with no luck.Some telephone support would be nice.want to use this before I subscibe.will have to find a tutor somewhere.Don't like dealing with a company that does not want to talk to anyone.Thanks.

Excellent description for an excellent computer program, especially good if you have multiple individual investments - and the app is also great on my phone and tablet. Been a user for over 4 years. Ditched the spreadsheets, and no longer need to print out shares statements and dividend records etc. Importantly, in addition to other reports available, at any time I can view an analysis of current tax position for current (and future) financial year, so it is easy therefore to optimise transactions for tax, well before the EOFY. All available reports are great. I also love having broker transactions (buy, sells, divs) automatically added to Sharesight. So much to like.

I am a newbie to investing (2 years) but I LOVE Sharesight. I only use the free level but that is enough for my needs for now. It offers an extraordinarily simple way for me to track the performance of whatever I've bought all in one place. The UI is also quite intuitive and easy to use without being at all over-whelming. Simply enter your trade once, and no more to do. It is all tracked from there, dividends included.

If I could make any changes, one would be to include further bench-marking, not just of individual stocks but the portfolio as a whole. I believe this is available for subscribers, but each of my individual purchases can still be seen benchmarked against the ASX200. Good enough for me given it is free! My other wish would be to be able to enter mutual indexed funds information, not just shares/units purchased on the market.

I'd recommend it to anyone like me who is starting out.

I use Sharesight to assist me with three portfolios that I manage. I quite like it for its CGT calculations. The people behind it are helpful. It’s not so good for overseas shares mainly in relation to dividends as my exchange rates differ to theirs, but this is a relatively minor issue.

Best piece of software I’ve used for the last 3 years. We run 4 portfolios that have grown quite a lot over that time due to record market growth. My partner used to work in a broking firm and this program is way better than any broking company reporting on performance that you will get from your broker. It enables you to identify non performers in your portfolio.

The very responsive sharesight support is also a big pro to using this program. If there’s one thing I’d like to see it’s more reports that don’t have to be exported out to get different totals.

This program has saved us money in that we have been able to do our own tax returns, which are quite complex with FIF calculations.

Love the mobile app as well. We really feel in control of our investments with this program. Unfortunately we are a bit addicted to it and find ourselves checking it multiple times a day...

I have now been using Sharesight for about 1 year. I find it extremely easy to transfer transactions, update my portfolio or even add portfolios. It saves me heaps of time to lodge tax returns. And every time I have had a query, it gets resolved very quickly and precisely.

'Better than I expected' now this is high praise from our accountant who was staunchly against me trying Sharesight. Upgraded. First year just completed and found sharesight user friendly for a newby. SMSF and second portfolio easily managed. Reporting excellent. Cash recording/management feature worked well.

I am one of the original users and have found it a great tool in my investment journey. I only comment I would make that the pricing jump from 4 portfolios to 5 which is around 300 NZ more Is excessive. They need to have a look at this.

I was introduced to Sharesight only recently and I love it! It’s excellent for portfolio performance monitoring, for preparation of taxable income from dividends at tax time, and for calculations of realised and unrealised capital gains. All of this happens automatically once you get your broker to email copies of all trades to Sharesight.
Although it’s excellent, I would acknowledge that it’s not completely perfect. Two examples are: I hold shares in one smaller company that paid a dividend franked at a 27.5% tax rate, but Sharesight assumes a uniform 30% tax rate. And secondly I hold shares in Resmed that pays dividends in USD; Sharesight utilises FX rates that are not the actual rates applied by the company when they credit the dividends to my Australian bank account. But despite these small imperfections I’m still rating the product 5 star, it’s so great in every other respect!

I've utilized Sharesight for the past 18 months. Platform provides excellent management umbrella over various investment portfolios I manage. Single source of truth! I'm able to crystallize returns quickly to optimize investments. Sharesight is a powerful platform that I would recommend to serious investors. Saves a tremendous amount of time and provides a quick ROI.

4 stars only -- Sharesight still has a way to go on smarter functions. Sharesight has excellent feature called ShareCheck - provides a look back at multi-year stock total (cap gain/loss+dividend) performance. They need to parse out the DIVIDEND GROWTH RATE data. Its a critical factor when selecting which stocks to invest in moving forward and I need to go elsewhere to get this data.

Sharesight has the data -- they just need to leverage and add dividend growth factor to ShareChecker feature. This would greatly assist the long-term dividend investors decision making process.

I have been using Sharesight for around 3 years and found it to be hugely useful in managing the share portfolio.
The only issue I have with it is that it sometimes doesn't input the correct dividend and witholding tax figures for Australian held shares.

I access Sharesight on average once per day and have been doing so for a very long time - over 10 years. I have recommended it to clients and have never had a bad word to say about it. If there's ever been a glitch (about 3 in 10 years) I've received an answer to an email within a day or two. I could not keep track of my investments without it.

I think I have spent more time getting Sharesight up and functional than actually collating the information manually as I have in the past.
The lack of phone support is lamentable.
