Writing a review after a year of using my kitchen as i am really happy with and do think that splendid kitchen deserves a good word, good design with good bench space & storage with soft closing drawers, designer did a good job fitting 11 spacious drawers in my small kitchen, very happy with the specially allocated bin cupboard. Liked the way there was a project manager allocated who dealt with all the trades, was very accomodating, good team work plumber electrician splash back guy every one polite and on time with a can do attitude, well priced product and services, I would recommend anyone getting a new kitchen should give Splendid Kitchens a try

Everything was fine when we first contacted and met the salesmen from Splendid Kitchens. Infact they were excellent and couldn't spend enough time in helping us design a Kitchen, Storage Area, and Bathroom Vanity. Indeed this is the area they excelled and why they managed to get more than one star and obtained our business.

From there on in things started to go bad. First realisation was when they wanted to change our storage doors from having a recessed handle system to small handles.... Structural reasons they claimed. Then the center piece of our kitchen.. A small walk in Pantry and the only reason we signed up, Had the design changed after we paid our deposit...This time they claimed the fridges were too big allow the small walk in Pantry be built the way we had designed. After everything was fitted and our large fridge and freezer were installed I realised that there was at least 250ml of room extra for the Pantry, which may not seem like a lot, but in Kitchen terms it is. For some stupid reason I believed these excuses and now realise they were nothing but simple cost saving measures on their part. Especially the recessed handles on the storage area.

To top it all off after a 12 day wait to have our splash back fitted, which actually didnt bother us to much... on the exact same day it was fitted we had a phone call asking when we would pay. Within 8 days we had a letter threatening legal action. I always figured that 14 days within completion was the standard procedure with these matters. I am intending to wait the full 14 days as I dont feel like paying straight away for the above reasons.

So to sum up... only use this company if you are prepared for the cost saving changes on their part after you paid your 90 pct of the Total. I felt after paying 90 pct, that living with the changes was better than chasing the best part of 14K. Rock and a hard place is the term I think is most often used.

Beware this company... it's the only bad experience I've had in my 200K plus renovation.

They asked 50% of payment up front and then a further 40% of the payment when the cupboards were delivered but were not installed. I found out it was illegal what they did. They supplied the cupboards with the wrong colour and they did not want to fix the sharp edges. They said they are not responsible for safety. After 12months the kitchen was still not finished. I also found out they were not registered builders. Keep away from them , they do not tell you the truth!

Our new kitchen was installed by Splendid kitchens in three days. They came on time and were a good team. We are happy with the installation. We weren't told initially that we wouldn't have hot water for 3 days which was a bit of a problem! Although we knew we would do the tiling at a later date we didn't expect there to be such big holes in the walls after the electrician moved some of the switches.

2013 became my year for renovations. Started with the kitchen as it was starting to look a bit shabby. Called Splendid Kitchens and had a designer who helped me work out a wonderful design for my new kitchen. From then, I couldn’t be happier with how things went. I ended up with a beautiful kitchen that makes cooking a pleasure, but I was very impressed with the really nice people whom I dealt with, starting from the project manager whom I could speak to anytime about any details I needed confirmed. The trades people were very genuine and obliging. I was so happy with the finished product, that a couple of months later, when I decided to have my bathroom renovated, I went through Splendid Kitchens again, and again the finished product is beautiful. I am very happy doing business with Splendid Kitchens as they thrive to do their best and I always felt assured of having a good job done.
I like the finished product and the lovely people I met along the process.

I had similar experience to another reviewer...took 3 months to install a small kitchen.. Reason the project manager got measurements wrong, the installer put handles in wrong spot and had to replace doors, the doors were not what I ordered and finally the project manager left us hanging. Then we got a new project manager assigned who was hopeless! Avoid!!!

November 7th 2017 Update: Misleading - Hinges are not Blum

I am compelled to warn people that this company mislead me about their hinges!!! After only a couple of years following the installation of my kitchen a Door hinge just broke. I was told by the splendid kitchen sales person during his pitch that they only use Blum hinges but this is not the case. They use cheap Chinese hinges that look similar. I found this out because I tried to replace with a Blum hinge ($30) and it didn’t fit! The hinges they use are called eurofit ($6) cheap Chinese replicas. Google it!! Not happy!!!

For two years we have had various companies attend our home and quote us on what they can offer us. Each quote was either expensive for the material offered, or we were told they could not put the kitchen we wanted as there was no room. Coincidently I was driving through Preston and saw this showroom and decided to get some more advice. Raj immediately attended our home. He took all the information and then came back to us within days to show us a 3D version of what he could do. He made sure all we wanted was in the kitchen and it could be installed in various ways. He answered every call, text we made. The materials were beautiful. The quote was amazing! David and the staff installed our kitchen in a day and took excellent care of our home. We absolutely love our new kitchen. It is everything we wanted and more. I cannot thank the staff enough, especially Raj who has been amazing. We cannot wait to have them design our next kitchen when we purchase our new home.

Do not hesitate or waste your time with other quotes, go straight to these guys for affordable kitchens without settling for cheap material

Kitchen now just over a year old, and still looks really good. A budget install, but still works really well, plenty of cupboard space, good bench layout, easy to move around and accomodates an awkward space layout really well.
The design and consult process was very easy, Saki and Nadia were very helpful in the design process and helped us work through a few different iterations before we decided upon a design. Being foodies, we wanted a very practical, simple design which was easy to keep clean, and to a budget, so the process worked quite well as we supplied our own oven, cooktop, rangehood, dishwasher etc.

From there, the install process was fairly painless for a kitchen upgrade. A project manager is appointed just after contract signing to arrange contractors, start date for install etc, which worked well. During the actual install, a site project manager is introduced to keep you up to speed during the install as there are always things you find out during the install that you can't count on until the old kitchen is removed like plastering.

The team were quick to remove the old kitchen and install the new cabinet hardware, the tradespeople (electrician, plumber) used were efficient, turned up on time, cleaned up afterwards so minimised the mess and disruption as much as possible. The plumber (Trigger Plumbing & A/C) was excellent, had the appliances installed and running very quickly, and paid attention to the little things like installing the adhesive patches to the sink and sealing the cooktop to the stone benchtop.

Make sure you discuss options as there are many, to get what you want at the price you're willing to pay. Also, unless you've replaced the same kitchen before, there will be extra's you'll need to budget for - but that goes for any reno project. We required additional plastering and some electrical services work, which added a little more, but worth it in the end.
Very simple layout for a large kitchen space, easy to keep clean, stone bench top and metalline splashback which wraps around the kitchen are excellent. Splendid kitchen team very easy to deal with, very professional.

I recently had an island bench and quantum quartz stone bench top installed. After much searching through a multitude of suppliers who weren't very interested in a small installation I came across the team at Splendid Kitchens Preston. From the first meeting with manager David through to the installation of the stone bench top, the service and professionalism has been exemplary. Unlike many other suppliers I felt there was no lies and a level of honesty to what the real costs would be, along with many helpful tips and suggestions.
Thanks again and will recommend Splendid Kitchens to all.

But don't go back for a little job after that because they are not interested we have been trying for 15 months for them to do a little job.

January 5th 2018 Update: Would not go back to them

The first work on the kitchen was good but do not go back to them for any other little jobs as [name removed]
will just give you the run around say yes even give you a quote in writing but try to any further and you will get NO where they are only interested in big jobs with big $$$$$$$.

A friend of mine gave me their number and i was impressed that they came around in just 2 days from when i called them.
I loved the way they came to our house and spent almost 2 hours to discuss our requirements and listened to what we wanted. She even showed us 3D design, went through colors etc. The very next day we went to their beautiful showroom in Preston and made a decision to go with them as none of the other mob's did what they did for us. We got emails from them updating us on their progress, and it was all very good right through to our installation.
Once the kitchen got installed it looked amazing. I had to wait another 2 weeks for my splash back, but it looked even better with the splash back.
I would like to thank the whole team for making this happen and will surly recommend to anyone who wants to renovate. Million times better then my last renovation.

With the need to upgrade our old tired kitchen we were very apprehensive to make the changes at first with so many suppliers making big offers and not sure of the quality of work one was going to get.
