I have been with Suncorp now for about 5 years. I recently had to put in a claim on my car that was damaged in an accident an subsequently caught fire. They were brilliant from the 1st call to lodge a claim to the assessor calling me to confirm car was a total loss and that I would receive my agreed value that car was insured for. Within 4 working days I had received the payment. Thanks Suncorp

We have been insured with Suncorp Insurance since 1994. Our house, all contents, 3 cars all insured with Suncorp for all these years.

All payments come directly out of our Bank Account (direct credit). I have never spoken to anyone at Suncorp until recently and was appalled at the rudeness and blatant lies.

I had a car accident and did not want to use their chosen car repairer due to a previous incident many years ago using their chosen repairer months after the repair was done on my BMW is started to rust. I promptly had it repaired at my cost and traded it in. Got rid of it in a hurry.

As I wanted to choose who repaired my car, I was severely penalised by Suncorp. The other vehicle that was involved in the accident went to the Suncorp chosen repairer and had his car back in 3 days. While I was still waiting for an assessor to even come out and look at mine. 2 weeks later when I called to find out why when I spoke to a supervisor called Tim who quite candidly told me if I had chosen to go to my own repairer then I would have to wait. Excuse me!! Who pays for the policy?
He then said the assessor was out there now I waited and no response, finally 5 days later an assessor rings me to let me know he has just been out and okayed the repairs and my chosen repairer could go ahead.
When I called Suncorp to speak to a supervisor, Oh no none were available. The lies and dishonesty of this company is not only blatant but completely worrying.

We have never made a claim on our house, or its contents for the past 28 years. They have had thousands of dollars from us over the 28 or so years we have been customers.

I know I have to change as we are not valued for our loyalty but treated as fools so moving forward we will investigate something more honourable. This will probably be difficult as I believe they are all corrupt.

I asked for a chargeback, as made transactions to scam website via PayPal. PayPal refused to help, so I asked Suncorp to step up. I got my refund and can not be happier...I am Suncorp client for a long time now and very happy with the customer protection policies...

Customer for 10 years. The services were good, with good level of branches and easy to find ATM's. They have closed down nearly all branches, and ATM's are now hard to find. The service has gone, as you will spend 30 mins and longer holding on the phone, and the online banking is limited and hard to use. They advertise as "Queenslands Bank", yet the interstate banks leave them for dead with far more branches, ATM's and service. Sadcorp.

Existing Home Loan customer, with plenty of equity in house - even with latest downturn :(
Share portfolio - that we dont want to sell
Long term stable employment (dual income household)
Cash in bank
0hour Applied for a secured 30K newer 2nd hand car loan online - attached all the required documents,
+18hour then received pre approval very quickly. and then it begun.
+32hour I called to enquire what was the next step, and was informed that I had not attached all the required paper work, hmm okay so i enquire and get told that I need to go through a 20-30 minute questionnaire about my finances. Sure I say let's do this, almost 56min later apparently i have not provided all the required paperwork that is needed for this secured 30k car loan, which is really funny as that was what we submitted for the house loan? So i resubmit within 20min of that call.
+54hour I ring back again - to be told you have not submitted the required paper work - about now my grip on the phone is ready to crush it, so i offer politely to resend it whilst we are on the call, I then enquire - when you finally receive this how long will this approval process take? 3 to 5 working days!
So it was right then when i said thank you i'll withdraw my application and use my own funds once selling shares.
Crikey!
If you are brave enough to go through this "experience" may i suggest you first review you annual expenses as you will be asked all sorts of exciting questions like, how much do you spend on kids shoes, kids uniforms, doctors visits, TV shows, phone bills, so save yourself 1000 grey hairs and spend time in advance either gathering and documenting all this info for a year, and yes expect to have statements to show this or find a different lender!

I received a rude shock to find my policy had increase by over 15% (more than $110) despite no claims and my car being worth less given it is a year older. No explanation was able to be provided except that apparently there was a discount when I applied because I was a new customer. Clearly Suncorp don’t respect customer loyalty and are just chasing the new customer and could care less about retaining current customers. As a side point, be careful with your privacy. Suncorp sent my policy to an old salary packing company I no longer use, despite updating them a year ago with my correct email address.

I have been a customer with Suncorp for a few years for a landlord insurance policy. I made a claim as the tenant vacated the property without paying a month worth rent and a lot of damages to the property. When the claim was made, Suncorp refused to pay the 1st month rent as they requested me to cover the 1st month rent from the bond. And I had use my own money to clean and repair the property.
No one contacted me for the rental default claim for a month. I had to call Suncorp (over 30mins wait time to be answered) and provided the documents. After providing the documents and everything is ready from my end, they requested me to contact VCAT and get the rent out of them instead of the insurance and said, suncorp will only pay out if VCAT is not getting my rent recovered. Why didn't they said it at the 1st place?

Very bad experience. I was left out with nothing. And paying the mortgage out of my pocket. I have been paying closer to $1000 a year for the insurance and when I am in trouble, Insurance is gone!!

Never ever use Suncorp!

I had taken multi policy with Suncorp for Home, Investment Properties. I had lodged a claim for Storm damage in February this year after heavy rains and wind damage to roof of my investment property. They have taken 12 weeks to inspect roof and then blame external damage on wear and tear. Poor service and property is still not fixed. I have lodged complain with AFCA too.

I had a accident with my car which I was at fault it's been 2months and 6 days and still dealing with the claim. They are doing investigation on me. Why? I really don't know. Is because they think I'm a fraud or trying to do something stupid I'm not sure? . I've provided all information that they have asked which I have nothing to hide. I've been interviewed with a corporate investigator aswell. Now they are doing a forensic analyst on my car.. Why am I being targeted for I have no idea?. I have no criminal history or anything. Still dealing with this claim. Accidents do happen and I'm constantly going forward and back with the investigation team. This is very poor from there behalf And I'm the one who is dealing with all the headache . Do not get insurance with suncorp.

We have been with Suncorp with our home loan for many, many years. Up until their Credit Card dept were taken over by Citibank, they were fine. Ever since then, we only occassionally receive our statements and are always having to phone them only to find that our credit card statements have been sent to various addresses that we vacated over 10 years ago!

Don't ever expect to be able to sort problems out face to face with a human being at a Suncorp branch as, as stated earlier, it's CITIBANK and not Suncorp who run the Credit Card Department. The Suncorp staff simply roll their eyes and shake their heads whilst telling you how there's 'nothing we can do. We don't 'handle' that anymore'.

We've finally had enough and will be cancelling our credit card account with them today and will be getting one from another bank. May as well, Citibank is not Suncorp either ...
Interest free period; When run by Suncorp it was good, it's now crap since Citibank took over.
Incompetent. Can't even get address correct after constantly being told by us where to send our statements!

It takes 5-6 weeks for a home loan thru Suncorp. Made a phonecall to Commonwealth Bank. 1- 2 weeks. Why are we still waiting. Steve Johnston call me before I escalate this to media. By the way were we offered a reward for submitting this review. Should be. I did not want to give any stars but had to give one to post this review.

I've been with Suncorp for about 7 years. My previous funds were rolled into it.

I started to pay attention recently when I realized that I was being given a smoker's insurance rate and my name was spelled wrong. I inquired about the 'mistakes' and found that they always default people to a smoker's rate in the absence of any information on smoking status. The previous funds that were rolled into it had me as a non-smoker, so I guess that information does not get through.

I asked to change it and was sent a form. The form did not have any option to say I was a non-smoker. It was a form for people who have quit smoking, I guess this is designed so Suncorp don't have to admit they rip off non-smokers with their insurance rates. I was not happy with a form that basically forces me to state on paper that I've been smoking for years.

I should also add that this was life insurance I never asked for, since I have no dependents. Not only did they never bother to find out my smoker status they also had no beneficiaries on my life insurance for the past 7 years I've been paying for it.

I was also sent a form to change my name. The form was very difficult to fill out just because it catered only for legitimate name changes, you know, like marriage and divorce, not typos made by super fund staff. I had to explain to every person I showed it to that my name had never been the name on the super fund. The name I want to change the super fund to is my real name and always was.

My local 14-years-of-service postal employee wasn't good enough as a witness for super funds as she'd moved post offices, she told me. So I had to go to the police station to get my document witnessed.

Then they changed the product, so I had to get all new forms and start again, arrgh!

Then I had to follow up to check on the name change. Nothing had happened. They had sent a request to my super fund inbox that my form was incomplete.

So I had to ring them up and find out what the problem was. Turned out the problem was that I hadn't supplied a marriage or divorce certificate. I explained that it was impossible because I'd never been married or divorced. Turns out someone there had not read the form and just assumed it was incomplete and tossed it aside. So the lady on the phone got it moving again.

I logged in later and it had finally happened, I finally had my name fixed.

I looked at the return after fees on my Australian Super fund and my Suncorp BrighterSuper and it was a no-brainer which fund to continue with. Australian Super beat Suncorp for earnings, they didn't force me into any overpriced insurances, and their online systems are super easy to use.

So I made a request to roll everything into Australian Super. I later get a text from Suncorp to check my inbox for messages. So I check it later on just to see what they want. I find I can't log in because I no longer have an account with them. So they've directed me to messages I will never receive apparently. That really was the icing on the cake.

I don't know why Suncorp have chosen to restructure all their super products, I've heard that they were losing money, but I hope they can address the way they interact with their customers. When there are other super funds doing it better people won't necessarily keep putting up with their existing fund. Not when it's so easy to churn.

Did everything right as a customer of 9 years with home and contents, multiple policy but when I needed something from them the response was slow. Not only that but leaving me for weeks without any contact and being interrogated like a criminal was less than ideal. Not to mention the amount of my time this required just to process my claim.
3 months later after break and enter at my home, I am still going without my items. Not good enough.

i had my home insured with suncorp for 10 years , had a storm in february 2018 a brick pillow got damaged and and it stead of fixing it , they sent a engineer , who just happens to look at all their claims ., wrote a 4 page report saying it has had deterioration over years that's why it fell in the storm and did not have it fixed, but years before that one of my drives back into a fence in a truck , and took a chip out of a brick , and it was insured with suncorp , they had a report the report said the fence had deterioration over the 25 yrs and was on a lean and in poor condition, but suncorp replaced the hole fence and sent me the bill which i payed , suncorp will only pay if they can get the money out of some one , other wise will not pay

I have been insured with Suncorp Approx 10 years & never once made a claim. When my house was broken into & had major damage & theft my self, my family & neighbours were treated like we were the criminals that did this. We were all interrogated for at least an hour. Not only that they turned up to the interrogation up to 3hrs before the agreed time & demanded to do it then. They were nasty & rude to us in their approach.
Despite one of the criminals who actually did it being caught & charged prior to the interrogation & witnesses to the break in etc they still denied our claim saying it’s unusual circumstances they’ve never dealt with a situation like this. You have witnesses, you have a culprit & you have our in depth interrogation of our every movement on the days leading up to & of the crime. What is unusual? That normally you don’t have so much evidence to prove that the owners didn’t do it?
Absolutely disgusted with their service & as soon as it’s resolved I’ll be changing companies!! It’s been 6 months already
Highly DO NOT recommend insuring with Suncorp. Absolutely disgusted in the way they treat their customers

I have 8.74% on this credit card, has no interest free days but is a good card to have as a backup.

I haven't had to use it overseas, but have used it as a backup to buy appliances and pay it off etc.
