I was with them for 6 years. Never made a claim with them. I recently sold my bike and rang them to close/cancel my policy with them. The girl on the phone just laughed when she said that swann pay back the remaining money paid on the policy. That had been taken from my account 2 days before. A week later they have no done it at all. They love to take money but don't like giving it back and will OPENLY insult you. Swann treat people like crap, yet are completely confused why their reputation is going down the toilet. I would NEVER recommend swann to any MC rider period.

We purchased gap cover for extra $975 on a $9000 motocross bike as a recommended by dealership with fire and theft policy also in 2014. Bike stolen this November, so we lodged a claim with Swann. @ separate claims, 1 for fire and theft policy and separate gap policy claim. Sounded great. If you still owe finance, they will pay it out. Right ? Wrong ! It actually only covers any amount between the current agreed value of the bike ($5242) and the residual on loan. So, soon as you owe less than the agreed value, the policy is worthless within a short period of time. And as they pay out the finance from your agreed value on theft policy, all we are getting is the theft policy agreed value less payout figure of $1508, less $725 basic excess and another $250 excess for theft. Doesn't leave much for your pocket. AND, twice they have left the payout figure lapse and have had to ask for new figure. Now we have made another loan payment and as well as having to payout our policy to JUNE 2019. Good news is, if they catch the one who stole it in the future, they will get the $975 excess of him and we can claim it back. Would love to see how that goes, as I am sure the thief will be dying to hand over the cash.

I was with swann insurance for my ninja 1000. I was taken out by a teenager ending with 2 days in hospital and the bike written off. The police report stated that I was not at fault but swann insurance still withheld the premium ( from memory $450) and never gave it back. I sorely attest found out that if I was with racq my insurance would have been around $400 cheaper and they have 24/7 customer help unlike SI.
Just don't use them. Worst insurance experience possible for top dollar

I cancelled my motorcycle insurance with another company as the bike couldn't be used for recreational purposes for an unknown period due to c-v. Time came today when restrictions were about to be lifted, so I looked around. Swann had competitive prices, plus the benefit, important to me, of Roadside Assist being able to be added (obviously at some extra cost). Despite some crap reviews on the Swann website I decided to take a chance, and proceeded to get an online quote.

I ran into some difficulties here - system wouldn't recognise my bike's VIN number - so I phoned Swann. The bike insurance rep was a lady name of Ann(e), who could not have been more pleasant, patient (over a poor phone line), efficient, and switched-on.

Within a few short minutes I was insured at a pretty competitive rate, with Roadside Assist included for only about $30 more than I paid earlier for insurance cover only. Of course it remains to be seen how Swann may perform if I need a claim to be made, but so far, so good!

I Recently had an accident where I bumped into the back of a friends Harley Davidson...to see his beautiful Harley go over in front of me was like in slow motion...the damage was substantial to what was a great looking biker to see it badly messed up !!...Gladly my mate was ok !!..But what do you say to your mate when you have caused carnage to his pride n joy !!...I couldn't say anything....I was just speechless...anyway have always had Swann insurance but have never made a. claim in 30 years of riding...
You hear of these insurance nightmares on tv etc..but I was given a Claims officer named JOHN......(LEGEND) ..he took my statement and took care of the rest. of the process...organising assessors etc and approval of repairs to my mates baby(bike)....again left speechless but in a GREAT way...Nice to see customer loyalty and Excellent Customer Service..A rarity nowadays!!

When I was submitting a claim for my stolen motorcycle, I was shocked to see that the Agreed Value on my policy had dropped $2000 upon the first 12 month renewal, despite my premiums not changing. The agreed value is significantly less than market value, but I was not given the option for market value as the bike was under finance. Apparently this is because the finance company assumes that market depreciation could cause the loan security to be at risk.
My bike was recovered, but unfortunately the damage caused has meant that it is a total loss. My bike was only 18 months old, low kilometers, and in perfect condition prior to the theft.
After taking out the excess ($500 basic plus $250 theft), having to pay out the rest of the policy, and the gap on the loan, I am left significantly out of pocket. The offender was caught red handed, but Swann advised that they cannot go after them, and that I should seek restitution through the court process.
I have another bike insured with Swann, but after this episode I am considering switching to another provider.

I had made a claim with Swann insurance company to help me about of an incident that a girl made me fall slightly when i left a parkinglot.
They received one ridiculously expensive quote from peter stevens kensington and automatically wrote off my bike which had a slight scratch in the exhaust and on one side of the fairing. I said to them I would like to get another quote before writing off the bike but their answer was they had already written off my bike. They took my motorbike to altona without my permission, it couldn't be reversed.
Finally with so much trouble with this worst company, i got the bike back.
I believe that the motorbike is fine to road. Just it has some slight scratches that are not considerable as written off.

Recently I made a claim on my Extended Warranty (Motor Vehicle Dealer Contract) only to be told that Swann have elected to not accept any further claims for my contract. I had previously had a claim approved for a blown turbo, however Swann tell me that they only approved the claim out of goodwill to me. When I asked when the decision to reject any further claims was made, I was told that Swann made this decision 5 days before approving the first claim. They could not explain why I didn't know about the decision to reject further claims and cited that "someone would have told you". I then asked that the decision be reviewed and Swann told me that they could not review the decision. I advised the call taker that I wanted to complain and was told that I could not complain to Swann as I didn't have a policy with them, that Swann was only the warranty Administrator and that I must complain to my dealer. Sounds like Swann like collecting the premiums. Swann are deliberately deceptive when dealing with claims and make decisions without consulting stakeholders. When you push them they will hide behind procedure and contractual definitions in order to get out of paying a claim. I do not recommend this company at all. They are interested in one thing only. keeping Swann and ultimately IAL in the black.

I had an accident and it wasn't my fault.
I called straight swann and someone told i was covered for my phone and i should get my phone quotes.
Next day some called for say your personal items doesn't include phone, helmet or electronics. Very smart from them.
So i got quotes my phones 30$. So few days after I'm calling back and explain the story to an employee who gave me her head manager who was totally disrespectful. Doesn't let me explain my story and say we don't covered it and start to be very arrogant about the situation. She kept saying " We don't ...." many times without letting me explain anything. Very disrespectful and they really doesn't care about you but for cheap insurer. Don't expect much. Don't be foreigner because as French i felt being judge about my accent.
Never again.

I have my first major accident in 25 years of riding, I rang Swann from Hospital they were very helpful,They look after every thing, even advised me that I was covered for safety and personal wear. The Bike was written off.
Pay out was quick and efficient. I will be definitely using then in the future.

We have 2 policies with Swann; both for 2010 fatboys, wife and I both have rating 1 no claim bonuses.
My better half's sum insured was $21000, cost $468 and was paid on 15 july 2019.
My insurance renewal was for $18157 with a cost of $498; when I queried the figures asking for a policy the same as my wife's the rep was happy to increase the agreed value to $21000 but the best they could offer on cost was a $3 reduction. I have forwarded both policy renewals to Swann for comment but I'm sure they are on their way to the "round" filing cabinet. I cannot see the difference in policies or costs????

In my experience with this company they were rude, sarcastic, unprofessional especially when it came to loan protection policy do your research take your time and don't even bother choosing this company I'm $30,000 in dept due to swans negligence and currently I'm currently in contact with a financial ombudsman and department of fair trading.

After reading these reveiws and then getting into a accident I thought I was going to go through a very hard and stressful time with swann but shocked out how outstanding they were, my claim was finalised and paid out in about a week and a half COMPLETELY satisfied with the customer service thanks swann for a hassle free claim :) :)

I had a motorcycle accident a couple months back and was hospitalised. I called Swann Insurance and they were extremely helpful, courteous, and took care of everything for me.

They arranged for the bike to be examined and assessed at the police vehicle pound, gave a reasonable value assessment, organised for it to be transferred, and once written off, they organised for the rego plates to be returned to the Dept of Transport. I was kept well informed throughout the process and had to do very little.

Their premiums were reasonable and their online quoting/renewal process is seamless.

They have me as a loyal customer (once I get another bike of course!).

Just a little over 2 months ago now my spyder can-am caught fire while I was riding it. It was by far the most terrifying experience I have experienced in my life. From the very first phone call I made to Swann to receiving my cheque in the mail the service I received from Swann was amazing. I couldn't speak more highly of the staff in the Claims department, friendly, helpful, and caring. 10 out of 10 to Swann

I was unfortunate enough to have my motorcycle stolen a few months ago. From the moment I contacted Swann Insurance, the level of customer service was outstanding. The support and guidance through the process couldn’t have been better. I received a payout and the assessor was in contact quickly to update me on the condition of my motorcycle when it was recovered.

I bought Gap Cover from Swann for a period of 6 years and paid off the vehicle in 3 years. I paid $1200 approximately and wanted to cancel. I was expecting half $600 approximately but was told $48 ad I am upset and really will not recommend Swann ever. They got me and did not told me that the risk is greater at the start of the contract. These insurance should explain more about the outcomes if you cancel as if I did back then they would of had a different story. So I paid nearly $400 a year for Gap insurance as this is outrages and if Swann wants to be sincere they better ring me as I won't let this by. I am one upset client of Swann as I will never purchase their product ever again and will cancel all contracts and never buy again Useless insurance as that's why they get a bad name trying to rip off the vulnerable Yours Lionel Kershaw Hervey Bay Qld 4655

December 9th 2017 Update: Hopeless insurance as all they do is collect and don't payout

This policy did jack and get pressured into having this as finance would not be approved and yes it's there for a reason but when you haven't used the insurance and it's a contract for 6 years and you are 3 years in and don't use it, you would expect some compensation?? I paid $1200 and when I sold the vehicle is was told I am entitled to $49 WOW.

January 6th 2018 Update: Read fine print and ask if you sell the product half way through the contract what refund do you get

The policy sounded good but when I didn't do any claims while it was in place, I spent $1200 to set it up over a 6 year period and I sold the vehicle after 3 years. This company gave me a credit back of $43. I was not happy, as I thought they are a money scammer. This insurance is pushed onto you when getting finance but I thought if I didn't take this option I possibly might not of got my loan. You can say no but it does have its purpose. I will never be dealing with this company ever again until they change their policy and refund me what I am owed. 2016

I bought my bike yesterday in Sydney. I purchased full comprehensive insurance and roadside assistance with Swann prior to leaving the dealership. I was riding it back to the Gold Coast. I stopped in Armidale overnight. This morning as I departed, my rear tyre was flat. The was a bail in it. I called roadside assistance but they couldn't assist me. There was a 48 hour grace period. What! Now I am looking to cancel my insurance and sign up with someone who can assist me.

We have been dealing with a claim now for 6 months, your client ran into us, Swann insurance have been messing us around for months now...beyond a joke. Just FIX OUR CAR!! Rude staff on the phone and they don't care that they are inconveniencing people.
