Today Bendigo Bank Cyber Crime team, saved me from an attempted fraudulent transaction, I was informed within minutes of the attempt. They are on duty 24/7 Bravo Bendigo !. In fact my 17 years with a Bedigo has been a good experience

September 20th 2019 Update: Rural banking
Have been with Bendigo since 2003, never an issue, Bendigo still has branch's with people, helpful people, but the phone banking is 24/7 so I use that mostly. Bendigo has recovered my money from a fraud once, and recently stopped an online attempt in progress, their fraud team is there 24/7 wonderful people, and when my account was locked to protect it, they organised for me to get money when needed.

I was a customer with Bendigo for 15 years. I have recently discovered they've taken at minimum $400 in incorrect fees. The branch manager has final say, and has only offered $29 as a "goodwill gesture." She has refused to speak to me on the phone and instead had her frontline staff call me and relay her paltry decision.
I also required a bank statement for Centrelink, and I had to attend the branch Three times because their staff have no idea what they're doing, even though they assured me the transaction listing they gave me is good enough. And then I had to order a statement and had to wait for it to be processed by their head office. Every other bank allows you to do this on their banking app. Time to enter the 21st century, BBL.
I called the call centre and was talked over by a rude rep named Sharon, and then she hung up on me and did not attempt to call me back.
I was told on three occasions that I should not have incurred a monthly debit card fee, and by the last two people, have been told I should have been charged. I would never have signed up for the card had there been a fee. They have lied to me too many times, and they have become too cocky and are no longer the bank they once were. Do not trust these vultures with your money, they WILL steal it any way they can. They have a large elderly customer base, and I imagine they are charging fee upon fee to their accounts, too. Bendigo Bank are not to be trusted.

I would love to be positive about Bendigo Bank, but we were left seriously in the lurch with their new FX go traveller's system while in Europe - whatever you do, DO NOT sign up for FX go. To be fair, it is also my fault for having warning bells ringing when their 'log in online' kept asking for your date of birth but wouldn't allow you to enter it, and the teller taking nearly 2 hours to set us both up with one each, and then complaining that she was working overtime to set up our cards! Like it was our fault! We had all our information and identification, our passports and bank account details, and yet it took her nearly 2 hours, It indicates it is clearly in it's Beta-testing days, and me and my husband were guinea-pigs for a system that let us down 100% of the time - 'accepted everywhere in Europe' they will tell you, well, I can tell you first hand, that it is NOT accepted anywhere in Europe! My husband set us both up with FX go cards before we left, and transferred hefty amounts into both of our accounts, but if it hadn't been for me ("just in case") setting up my Visa credit card and my ANZ cash card, we would have had to sleep in the Rome train station! I am not exaggerating cos there was also some problem with our roaming sims, which were supposed to to take no more than 30 mins to fire-up, but instead took 6 hours ... gee, thanks so much Bendigo FX! Never ever again. After years with them we will probably close our account after that horror experience.

Had a loan for 4 years. (Only kept it that long to avoid excessive discharge fees)They made heaps of mistakes with amount of interest charged and fees. There are better Banks.
Products read ok, some rates are competitive.
The staff and management are from some 50's time warp. Hopeless at dealing with anything out of the ordinary. Most staff do not seem to know the products.

I spent some time hunting around for a more customer-focussed bank, and one that didn't force me to spend ages in a phone queue while an automated voice told me that they 'valued my custom'. Yeah, right. Tried visiting a few branches of a couple of the final picks, as well as contacting them and seeing what the response was. From Bendigo, it was a very fast response and by an individual, real person! Who actually sounded as though she was listening and paying attention. This feels like returning to the good bits about having a local bank - someone who knows you and someone you can ask when you need info/something done etc. I'm happy - was recommended to this bank by a friend who'd switched to them, and I'm very glad she did. Would happily recommend them to anyone else.
Very customer-focussed, as well as focus on community. Swapped to this bank recently for my business and personal, after finally getting tired of the lack of customer focus by one of the Big Four. This is the first time in literally years that I get to talk to individual people who actually know me, and who will do things/fix things for me. And after 2 months, I'm paying less in fees (and getting wayyyy more on interest) on my business account than I was before. Great website for online banking.
Not much at this point.

I have been with Bendigo for about 3 years. I did find their website a bit difficult at first. Once I rang customer service, I was fine. They have a good security, rotating log in code, if you bank online. The service at the branch was very personal and helpful. It was quite crowded and busy, but hey, aren't they all. They donate decent sums to local charities. I like that! I have not seen their name published in the media about ripping off or cheating their customers. - unlike, unfortunately other banks I am with.

Sitting on hold for over 30 min, plus loads of fees on my accounts. There are other banks doing it better.
They also don't offer any reward scheme's for flying or anything else.

Have been with Bendigo Bank for 30 years.
Have paid off one home loan in 15 years. Always liked Bendigo Bank. Made an appointment about getting further finance. Was told I would see a lender I had spoken with two years earlier. Arrived to my appointment which was now with another young 'lender' who clearly was unable to assist me, had no product knowledge, no customer service skills and sadly, was incompetent. It was very strange. When I expressed my frustration and that I thought I was seeing the previous lender he said 'It is her last day and she is upstairs '. I walked out of the room and another staff member went to get the previous lender. She came down from 'upstairs' and said I would need to make another appointment with a different lender in a different dept. By this stage I had decided I would not be seeking their services. I called a lender at CBA after that and got the service I wanted without any hassles. I am disappointed that Bendigo Bank has slipped so much in their customer service and professionalism. I wanted them to be the same bank they used to be. My experience of the tellers at head office branch is excellent, it is the lenders that demonstrate appalling service.

Had a horrific experience with 2 of the big 4 and changed to Bendigo and are very happy. Having been in business for over 30 years and with an A1 credit rating we were appalled at the treatment from 2 of the big 4.

20 years with the bank - always cause you problems whenever the product gets to 10 years old and then they deliberately forget to inform you for however long they like. the customer always pays for their errors and complaints are just ignored for weeks. As crooked as they come - and they use third party companies to shield their shonky activities to reduce their liability - stay away and enjoy better legal protection.

I was planning to change my personal, business and SMSF banking to Bendigo Bank. As part of the transfer, I needed an investment loan for a rental property. I had to provide Bendigo Bank a huge amount of personal and business records and then never heard from them again. Following up a couple of months later I was told that they were not providing investment loans. What a waste of time, so now Bendigo Bank is blacklisted and the shares I had in the bank disposed of.

Jess Bourke from the Oak Flats branch is nothing short of brilliant, she helped me out with my finances and did everything she could to get it passed the line. She never left any detail out and kept me up to date at all times. Very polite and professional. She impressed me so much I changed to Bendigo after being with a different bank for over 20 years.

The staff at this branch are wonderful. A big shout out to Mel who also works at the Oak Flats branch, she was the one that convinced me to try Bendigo Bank and it was well worth it :)
