Matt,Ross,Daniel from guildford were brilliant, when they moved us to our new area on Tuesday 26nov , very polite, and brilliant at there jobs, did have 2 accidents though when they reached our destination, I have a lot of all sized garden gnomes they were bought of lorry one had a broken head and other a broken arm , luckerly we are insured and Ross used he would do something about it ? So we are watching this space .

We had Graham and Dwayne from your Exeter branch carry out our packing and removal service, moving us from Somerset to Cambridgeshire. The two of them were polite friendly and extremely hard working throughout. The standard of work was exemplary and when unpacking they checked the location of boxes and items they were unsure of. All items arrived in the same condition that they were packed in. If I was to move again I would definitely be contacting Bishops again. I have no negative comments at all about the experience.

We used Bishop's Move for a long distance move from a house into a storage unit, with them packing all the fragile things, and then 8 months later, from the storage unit and the flat we'd been staying in, into our new house. Both teams were brilliant - friendly, patient and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble, they seemed to have boundless energy and strength, and made exhausting and emotionally draining days into relatively calm and low stress ones. Almost everything ended up in the right rooms (my fault when they didn't!), and they were happy to take the time to position furniture precisely where we wanted things. I haven't had time to finish unpacking yet, but I've not found any breakages yet among the 'fragile packing' boxes, and I don't expect to. They used a lot of (recyclable) paper to keep everything safe. They weren't cheap - nearly £2,000 each move - but undoubtedly worth it! I hope I leave this house feet first, a long time in the future, but if not, I'll be calling Bishop's Move again! Thank you Mick from Brighton and all your team members.

Great communication from the first day i requested a quote, the gentleman who came to do our quote was with us in a couple of days and we received the quote the same day. Any emails i sent asking questions after that were responded to the same day. The removal men were friendly, proffessional and very respectful of our home. I would recommend Bishops move to anyone

We have used Bishops in 2019 and the experience was great, but last month when we scheduled our move with them they quoted 2 days worth of work and I mentioned to them that as I am discarding many furniture, the work is less and the quote looks high. But the individual who was on video call still estimated 2 days work. But when we moved, they completed the work in 1 day even after taking multiple breaks in between. So I emailed Bishops requesting them to reevaluate the amount that I already paid, never received an answer. Then I called them and the individual attended the call mentioned he would ask someone to respond ASAP, but it has been more than 2 weeks now and no one called. did not expect this from Bishop's move

We recently moved house and having used Bishop's Move for 2 previous house moves, expected the same great service. How wrong we were in this case.

The Norwich Depot have completely ignored the main issues of our complaint, namely that we paid for a packing service which was only half completed and we had to pack ourselves.

Whilst the actual Porters did their best, in our view the following meant we had a stressful, badly managed move. We would never use Bishop's Move again nor recommend them for the following reasons:

1. Lack of empathy, arrogance and no real interest in resolving our complaint to our satisfaction by the team at Norwich
2. Poor organisation and management of our move
3. Insufficient staff on the packing and move day
4. Poor customer service and lack of contact from management or customer service staff to our concerns during the move

Avoid this company at all costs - bad management and understaffed moving teams will only add to your stress of moving.

Highly recommend, from start to finish the teams involved made my 75 year old mum’s move from
Hampshire to Yorkshire seamless. They packed
with great care and ensured everything arrived safely. They worked non stop and mum was able to bring all her beloved garden pots and plants. Most importantly they treated my family like there own and made us laugh along the few days we spent with them. Good old fashioned service thank you Bishops move. Especially Alan, Shane, Craig and Uldis.

Sharon at Bishop’s Move looked after our international needs exceptionally well and particularly so given the difficult challenges caused by COVID-19 and lockdowns. We had to handle it all remotely from the US, and communication was excellent with services at both ends reliable and professional. We were very well taken care of!

We used Bishops Move to pack up and move our belongings for a move less than 5 miles away within Oxfordshire at the end of November 2019. The manager of the Long Hanborough branch had been out to assess how much had to be moved and we were reassured that our property would be moved safely and professionally, especially since we had had a good experience with Bishops Move when we last moved in 2010. However, this move did not go well at all and we are only just now realising the extent. It transpired on the day of the move that the manager had underestimated the amount of time needed to be able to move our belongings. It was a wet and cold Saturday and the men had to work over half a day longer than they had expected so we gave them a substantial tip in appreciation of this - something for which we are now kicking ourselves. We moved just before Christmas to a property which needed a lot of work and which meant that we could not fully unpack immediately, exacerbated by the effects of the lockdown. We have found items of sentimental value broken (one glass item had survived nearly 50 years and had been moved across countries, only to be smashed in half by a move less than 5 miles up the road) and other items missing. One of the items was a mobile phone and charger which I have never found, despite the last of the boxes having now been unpacked. A large, framed wedding photo, signed by the guests at our wedding and irreplaceable, has also never been found, together with another framed print of sentimental value and a specially cut glass table top. Two chests of drawers were also broken. I have subsequently found out that the men were overheard saying that they thought we were "taking the p*ss" by getting them to pack our belongings (a service which we had paid for), and were witnessed throwing our belongings onto the van (which makes sense, given the breakages). We saw that they were openly disgruntled, and heard them complaining, which we had put down to the unexpected overtime and the weather, though they were polite to our faces. The missing items were not left in our previous house as we still have access to it and there was also nothing left on the van. We contacted the manager of the Long Hanborough branch on 15th February by email, when we first became aware of some of the issues, but have never had a response. Our experience of moving into our new house has been made even more stressful and difficult by this negative experience, exacerbated by the additional stress of the haphazard way our belongings were packed - unrelated items from different rooms packed together into the same boxes so that it made it even more difficult to locate items and to unpack. I would not recommend Bishops Move at all and we will not use them again for any future moves.

We have moved previously and hired vans ourselves, but Bishop's was our first experience with a removals firm, and I couldn't be happier. The branch kept in touch, made arrangements for the date I needed, and just made the whole stress of moving that much easier! The crew were very friendly and helpful, and worked very quickly and efficiently. I wouldn't even hesitate for a second in recommending Bishop's Move to anybody and everybody in need of a move. Everything was delivered and accounted for, no damages at all (and I had three fully glass display cabinets!), and they managed to navigate very narrow streets with determination.

Just brilliant. Nothing else needs to be said!

We used Bishop's Move to take our belongings from Norfolk to place in container storage in Devon. They fitted us in to their schedule at short notice and we found the team of 4 men to be professional, efficient and considerate. Moving home is a stressful process and they made it appear easy. Nothing was too much trouble. I would definitely consider using this company again.

Move went well, though have only give 4 stars as insurance does not give you enough time, only get 2 weeks, to find things that were damaged. Have found items subsequent to the claim going in, than can not be claimed for.

This isn’t the first time we’ve worked with the company and we were very happy previously, which is why we opted to use the service again. Now we are beyond disappointed.



Edited in an update to reply to company response:

My shipment was not arranged to Merida Mexico. That is completely incorrect and I have all the correspondence to hand to prove that. I made it very clear that it was important it came into Progresso Port, which is my nearest international port and discussed in detail that I had arranged a customs broker at that destination, giving Bishop's Move all of their details.

Even your representative was confused as to why it was landed at Veracruz (1000 miles from me). At no time did Bishop's Move ever tell me that my shipment might land somewhere else. Never.

My shipment is on its way to me now, no thanks to Bishop's Move, who denied responsibility and, when they offered to help insisted that brokers, not certified to assist, would be able to help. At no point listening to me when I tried to explain that Mexican laws are different (which you would think an international shipper would know). Nor did they mention additional fees for shipping at this end. I used to recommend, but never again.
