I asked my wife to go to Woolworths to get a rug doctor but she got talked into hiring a britex by one of their staff.
I gave it a go when she bought it home, gave it the benefit of the doubt. The carpets were left as a saturated and un-clean mess. This machine simply sprays water over the top of your carpet and sucks it up off the surface (probably around a third gets sucked up), there's no agitator like the rug doctor. It makes a noise as loud as a rocket too. Needless to say the Britex done a horrible job so I took it back to exchange it for a rug doctor. My carpets now look professionally cleaned. I complained to the woolworths manager about their cross-selling techniques, I just wanted a rug doctor in the first place and I'm not sure of their motive to talk my wife into the Britex instead.
Don't bother with the Britex, just go straight for the rug doctor.

I hired the Britex carpet cleaner from my local Woolworths today and bought the cleaner and defoamer. The unit seemed quite big initially but it is easy to move around. I have two dogs and my carpets are light coloured with quite a few stains from the dogs so I didn’t have all that high hopes for a good result. The unit is very easy to set up and also to use. Once I started I noticed an immediate result. It does a very good job. It does take a bit of time and heavily stained areas needed a few goes but it got up every stain. Quite phenomenal how much grime it gets up. Needless to say the dogs are no longer allowed in the carpeted rooms. Very happy with the end result.

My House looks so clean & fresh after using Britex vacuum cleaner & the Britex carpet cleaner. Britex vacuum cleaner did the hard work, sucked the dirt, removed the stain and leave me in a clean home.

They want $23 for a bottle of 2 lt detergent which you then had to use 3 big cap fulls per 9 liters of water, so about 4 caps per refill of water. Then they want you to buy defoamer, don't, i never do and never have a problem. You can use a small amount of fabric softener which will do the same job. Anybody tried alternatives for the shampoo? $40 hire, $23 shampoo, $12 defoamer, $75 total.... how much to get someone in to do it for you with professional machines?

Been using a guy for years to clean our carpets and he was ok but was in and out quickly and I thought he could clean it better if he spent longer on it. On the weekend our dog spewed all over the place and needed it cleaned quickly as the smell was shocking. Hired for 24 hours At Bunnings and cleaned it really well. The professional we used had told me don't use shampoo instead use one cup of white vinager in the clean water. For stubborn stains use a Good quality Soda Water sprinkled over the top of the stain and then clean again. Highly recommend the Britex cleaner.

I’ve been using Britex machines for years and have always been happy with results. I seem to have more success with getting our marks than the professional cleaners. I suspect because I know where every mark is. Ideally you need two people - one to operate the machines while the other backs up with vacuuming, stain removal and moving furniture. Provided you have the energy, it’s the only way to go. The return process was a pain though. No one in Bunnings seemed to know what they were doing. Sent to four different places / people and took over 20 mins. It used to be simple when Woolworths were the agents!

Hired the Britex Carpet Cleaner from bunnings plus the cleaning solutions for the first time, actually really good, did a 3 bed room house took me around 2hrs smells fresh and the carpet clean well. it can go to hard to reach areas dry pretty well too. won't be using carpet cleaners any more.

I hired a unit for around $40 AUD from my local supermarket, on hire I was suspicious as to wether it would be truly worth my time and effort. I got it home and hooked it up, follow the instructions on the side of the unit and I had a perfectly clean car in no time. It work really well in removing the dirt and grime from the seats as could be told by the color or the water in the waste bucket. I ended up cleaning three of our cars it was that successful. I reccomend watching a how to video on YouTube to get you off to a flying start. Highly recommended!

Most unbelievable cleaner I have ever used the dirt that it removes is unbelievable and embarrassing I use every 6 monthsro keep

We hired the machine from Bunnings to clean our new house and bond clean our old one, we got the carpet cleaner + the tile and grout cleaner. The carpet cleaner is just fantastic, easy to use, simple instructions and gets the job done quickly, not to mention the carpet cleaning solution smells so amazing and really freshens up the whole house.

The tile and grout cleaner on the other hand has got to be the most useless thing I’ve ever used. I would rather get on my hands and knees and scrub the grout over ever trying to use this again.
First of all the trigger on this leaked continuously and unfortunately I didn’t notice for a couple seconds and within that time half my dining room was covered in solution. I’m not sure if that’s a fault of the trigger or if it’s meant to be like that.
On top of that, trying to keep the bristles in the grout to scrub was just impossible. Not to mention it was tough and awkward to use and scrub. My partner had the same experience. The mop is poor too, and for what leaked onto my floor the suction didn’t even pick up most of the water.
After about 3 lines of grout I decided it wasn’t worth my sanity and I’ll be sticking to using the machine for carpet, which is really disappointing when we had to pay for the brush head and solution that won’t even get used now. I wish I had read the reviews on this first.

Will be getting a standard grout cleaning kit tonight to do the job that unfortunately this machine couldn’t.
