I was displeased to be forced by RACV insurance to take my car to SMART Bayswater. This was because overall, SMART repairers have poor reviews here. However there seems a little evidence that the Bayswater repairer is better than most of the others. I wish to advise that I found the Bayswater repairer quite good, not as wonderful as the promotional video at the repair shop, but quite good. It's now been a few weeks since the repair and no ongoing problems have been found.

Also when the car was fixed, we had to go back at least 4 times as they couldn’t match the colour right and left scratches all over the “brand new headlights” they supplied. I was called names like “fussy and picky” and was spoken to very rudely as if I was doing the wrong thing and not them. This is how they treat a car that has costed us over $46,000 when new and leave it damaged as they expect the customer never to look underneath. If I found this then I wonder how many other customer vehicles have been repaired dodgy. Avoid this place at all costs!!!!

The car went in for minor repair- from Wednesday to Friday.
Issues
1) The car was ready for collection on Friday, did not get a call until Monday for pick up.
2) The day on pick up, the body work was done, but the repairer did not replaced the trims, obvious scruff mark. No after repair service, no explanation.
3) After pick up, realised the window’s windshield strip missing. Rang them and they blamed me for not answering the call before collection, eventhough I picked up the car, and they had ample amount of time to let me know about the replacement of this missing part.
4) Day after pick up, I took a closer look and realised the window with the missing part also had a large scratch. Went back to them for the replacment of the missing part as well as seeking explanation and repair for the window, the manager, Aden, lacking in customer and managerial skills, unapologetically and rudely denied the damage, eventhough he had photo evidence to show the scratch did not appear before the repair, what’s more, he made insinuation that I damaged the window.
5) Request the insurer to take charge of the situation, took at least 5 calls before I get a decent response from the supervisor, but still I had no choice but to deal with the repairer on my own.
6) Aden (the manager) promised a mobile tinting repairer will come to my place to fix the window, and will contact me within 3-4 days. That didn’t happen until I contacted the insurer again, asking for them to take charge. The outcome, instead of mobile tinting for the repair, I was asked again to returned to the repairer for the third time to get they mistake fix.
7) By now, I was hoping the third visits will be the lucky last, but no. After the repair, where everything was left quiet dirty internally, I found a second scratch on the opposite side of the window. I asked the manager for explanation, and again, he rudely denied the scratch, and said it was preexisting...
It’s now with the insurer again....
Overall, you’ve got to ask yourself the following questions:
Why would you want to be insured with a company that make you fight your own battle?
Why would you want to go to a “recommended” repairer to get more damage done to your car?
Why would you want this level of frustration and this amount of wasted time when you are the paying client? Why?!!

Now stuck with out a car for 3 days as the hire car has been returned whilst they replace the bumper with a new one(as they should have done in the first place) and repaint the car ,never again

The were scratches all over the new car and what made things worse they made my wife feel embarrassed and guilty when she mentioned the damage and there answer was the scratches were already there and brushed here off.
How dare you treat us like garbage. No sorry .
