I’ve recently had a beautiful new loft space with en suite bathroom constructed by Central London Lofts; thanks to David for getting the process started, to Barry for project management, and to all the guys for their work. The builders -- Sasha and Andrei did most of the building work -- were very efficient and did an excellent job. Neighbours have remarked on how quiet, tidy and quick they were. The plumbers, electrician and plasterers also worked very hard on their parts of the job. We did have a few disorganised moments along the way but fortunately any problems were resolved. Overall the whole process went more smoothly than I had anticipated. I’m delighted with the end result and very pleased that I chose this company for my project.

We recently had a loft conversion completed in December 18 by CLL in south east London. The management were great from start to finish, we had a few problems with the drawings but Renatas and his team solved these very quickly. We also had a complex design but the team made sure to go the extra mile for us and get us what we wanted. I would defintely recommend CLL.

Had this review been written during the first couple of weeks of the project it would have been overwhelmingly positive. However, in the end our experience was a rather mixed one.

We had a very good team of builders onsite - once they started, they were courteous, considerate and efficient. Things progressed much more quickly than we expected.

However I think the speed at which the project was moving meant (in hindsight) that details I would rather have had talked over were assumed and decided for us. For example, the finish on the loft from the outside (white facias + tiling that isn't what we originally asked for, and doesn't quite blend into the existing surround) is really not what I wanted but there simply wasn't an opportunity to discuss this with the PM.

While most of the contracted tradesmen were very good (especially the electrician, John) we had significant problems with the plumber (already noted to Renatas).

In the end the work was completed to a satisfactory standard, but not without considerable effort on my part to ensure that all the loose ends had been tied up, after CLL experienced staff related problems (which we were not made aware of but had to chase to find out about when the project seemed to stall).

Overall, I'd recommend (and am aware that my recommendation has already helped bring in more custom!) but would say keep communicating and remain vigilant about anything that is important to you.

This is my second time using Central London Lofts after moving house recently. Trusted builders are very difficult to find and I have been very lucky with this find. I have recommended them to my friends who are considering works in the near future. They have also been very good about resolving any issues that have not met my full satisfaction. One other key factor for my family is that their employees have been very personable. We have felt very comfortable having them in and around our home and they are not demanding in any way. Quality professionals.

We were very happy with Central London Lofts and are pleased with the additional space we now have in the house.

The builders and tradesmen (plumber, electrician, carpenter) were all great - high quality work and finish. For example, the carpenter made the stairway on site and a superb finish.

Any issues or problems were dealt with quickly and without fuss by builders and Project Manager.

We found Renatas and his team to be uniformly very helpful, and highly competent throughout all the stages of this project which included building a Hip to Gable Loft conversion, changing the roof tiles and replacing our existing boiler.. They oversaw the project from design & planning through to completion and snagging in a professional and seamless manner, and I have no hesitation in recommending them to other potential customers.

I would recommend that you don't hire an architect before calling Central London Loft. Huw is an excellent salesman with an exceptional knowledge of building regulations that will help you maximise the space in your loft; they will provide the drawings, I mean the architect. I regret paying the architect before Huw visited my house. The project manager (Gee)is a good listener and would consult with you all the time ,the builders( John, Mark and Alex) were very hard-working , polite and most of all tidy. Central London Lofts recently completed a loft conversation with on suite for us. I have to say that we are very pleased with the end product and would not hesitate to recommend CLL to anyone else. Huw, their salesman, was really good, very enthusiastic and knowledgable. He had some excellent ideas, which we took on board. Works started on 4th January 2016. Our project manager, Barry, was very good too. He was very approachable and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. Tadas the main builder and his team were superb. They worked extremely hard and relentlessly. They were faced with some very cold and wet weather conditions but nothing seemed to slow them down. The other teams including plumbers and plasterers were also very good, hard working, polite and tidy. It was very refreshing to deal with true professionals! Great job! We engaged Central London Lofts to build a two-room loft and fully refurbish our first floor. This was a relatively complex build, including underfloor heating and bespoke windows, flooring, plasterboard, lighting and cladding... somewhat different to the standard loft conversion.
Over a 6-month build, whilst there were some moments of confusion and difficulty, Barry and his team did their very best to keep everything on track.
The end result is worth the effort - very happy with the finishes throughout. Central London were professional and have been happy to come back and deal with the the (very few) snagging items.

First off, I want to thank Renatas and his team for the great service and the high professionalism that was kept throughout my loft conversion. My loft conversion was completed before the estimated completion date, which is why I am so pleased with all their hardwork and efforts to complete it on time. I recently underwent a loft conversion with Central London Lofts and have decided to give it 5 stars because I've ended up with a beautiful big bedroom and extra bathroom. The project took longer than I expected and went a bit over budget, but it seems this is pretty standard for building work! Ali was our project manager and at every turn he did his utmost to get things just right, and promptly fix any problems that came up.

This company started work on a loft conversion for my next-door neighbour on November 13th. He tells me that they were delayed because of the incompetence of CLL's architect, who drew up incorrect plans. The scaffolding went up a couple of weeks previously, with just three sections of the vertical chute for waste connected. The remaining sections were left lying on my neighbour's front garden, to presumably be added when the skip had been delivered. When the team arrived on the first day, they failed to add these sections, nor did they put up any dust sheets on each side of the scaffolding to protect my property and the property of the neighbour on the other side. I thought that this meant that when they dropped waste into the top of the chute, it fell around a dozen feet through the air into the skip. However I have since discovered that they didn't even use the chute, they just dropped waste from the top of the scaffolding in to the skip. It also appears that they were sawing up there in the open air, with the result that debris was blown across onto my property covering my wife's car and my (very expensive) sports car with dust and wood chippings. There was no answer from the company's general enquiries line and the only person I could reach at the company was on the sales line. I explained the situation, and she said that she would talk to them and get someone back to me. My wife attempted to talk to the team doing the work; there is no foreman and those working were Eastern European (?) with such poor English that all they did was shrug shoulders and laugh at her. I never did hear back, as they preferred to call my wife, obviously thinking that it would be easier to bully a woman. They did agree to put up some protective sheeting, but only put it on our side, just down the side of the scaffolding, which was rather half-hearted. In addition, rather than using proper dust sheeting, with reinforced eyes at the edges so that it could be tied securely to the scaffolding they just used a roll of thick plastic, which appears to be secured at the top (not sure how) but at the sides all they did was make holes in it and push it over the ends of scaffolding poles and at the bottom just pushed it between the scaffolding and my neighbour's yew hedge. This of course proved to be completely unsatisfactory in the strong winds of the night of November 22nd, when it came off at the sides and lifted up at the bottom, billowing out in the wind, making an incredible noise and giving us a disturbed night. Add to this their inconsiderate parking, partly blocking the exit from our driveway, and you can see why I am not a fan.

They did try to block my review, saying that they didn't know who posted it and they through it must be a competitor! I can categorically state that I am not a competitor, and this was claim was disingenuous; they knew perfectly well the property to which I am referring, asking my wife to remove the review. I note that if you click on the Trustpilot logo on their website it shows selected reviews, only by clicking on the stars do you actually access the Trustpilot website and see all the reviews.

I am considering buying a new property later in the year to put a loft extension on and if I do I will definitely be getting central London to do it for me

Central London Lofts completed our project in February this year and I can definitely say that we are happy with the final results. From Huw to Renatas to Minde, and everyone in between, Central London Lofts are professional, open and everything is transparent.

At the initial meeting with Huw he gave us advice that enhanced the project and has allowed us to have not only a loft room with en suite but also an extension, creating a very good sized fourth bedroom. Something we didn’t think possible. Plus, he dealt directly with some tricky neighbour issues for us and we really felt supported.

When Minde and his team started the works, we were amazed at how quickly things progressed. Minde listened to us and made sure we had the space we wanted, giving good advice throughout. We can’t give him enough praise. Again, Minde dealt with potential tricky neighbour issues directly so we didn’t have to get involved, was great with our dogs and was fantastic when interacting with an ageing father who was in the house throughout the works. We had issues with electrics, its an old house, which the team worked tirelessly to rectify late one Saturday evening. Plus, all workmen thoroughly tidied up after themselves.

Renatas was extremely attentive and never ignored a call or email, and always answered promptly. Believe me, I am very inquisitive and cautious so there were many questions. He listened and I felt like I was heard.

General advice for anyone looking to take on a project like this, with no reflection on Central London Lofts, would be to really think about the timing for such works. We were keen to get the job done so the project straddled the Christmas period which impacted it slightly. Although Minde and his team worked everyday possible over the period, which we really appreciated, there was a knock-on to other trades that was out of the control of Central London Lofts, so keep in mind that there is potential for slight delays around this time. Plus, it can get rather cold too.

I would also suggest that you do research into the process and the different communication streams that need to be maintained – is the plumber coordinating with the electrician, for example? To get the completed project you envisage, you need to be involved and be comfortable and confident enough to speak-up at the right time to make sure there is no abortive work or additional cost that could have been avoided. You do not need to be a project manager by trade, just really understand what you want and be able to communicate this clearly. As mentioned, the Central London Lofts team are extremely transparent and are happy to walk their clients through things.

Also, make sure you understand the level of finish you will be getting at the end of the project. We opted to have our own decorator do the finishing, as he has been working through the whole house for us, and have Central London Lofts just do the build so we were fully aware of what extra was needed to get the space ready for painting etc. If you chose this option, keep in mind that there will be a lot of preparation work before you can put your chosen colour of paint on the freshly plastered walls or gloss on the woodwork. The build is the build, finishing is a completely different beast.

Of course, the test of time is yet to be determined but the build seems solid with no creaking or leaks. The base project was brought in on budget, with the only addition being a change of the number of spot lights we wanted and we had to replace the roof tiles, which we were advised on and shown where the issues were. Again, fully transparent so we could make an informed decision – the roof hadn’t been touched in 30 years so we assumed this would be the case anyway and the cost was very reasonable. So, we are comfortable with what we have and believe that Renatas and his team will assist should the need to call arise.

Very impressed with CLL, they completed out loft conversion in early January having only started in late November. Quality was not sacrificed with speed, the whole process was exactly as the sales manager had advised. The work was completed by a very friendly highly dedicated team. There was no need to move out of the properly doing the short time that it took for them to complete the work. We leave down a small pedestrianised road which I thought could have posed some issues and delays for access and disposal. CLL worked around this without a single issue or complaint. I highly recommend this CLL and they will be my goto company for any future building work that I need.

The building manager was very proffessional in his dealings with me. The job was completed on time.
