Sold some of my late grand father's gold coin today at Chards, could not have been happier with the service I received, 4 of the coins where worth more than my local jewellery shop said by some amount, that is why I went their as it is a family run buissnes with over 60 years experience and on the reviews came accross as a trustworthy place to go and I was not disappointed, My thanks to Lesley she was great.

Ordered on the first day of the recent world crisis and despite Chards facing seemingly overwhelming demand and staff shortages due to covid 19 there was clear and regular communication and a personal call from the Bullion Manager, Ian. I received my order promptly and Ian couldn't have been more helpful. This was my first ever order & have subsequently placed a further order. Highly recommended.

+ Ordered a gold coin, paid online including guaranteed next day delivery
+ Next day received an email saying the coin was " no longer in stock "
+ Was offered three alternative options, all at higher prices.
+ Told them this was not very good customer service, advertising goods they don't have.
+ Was begrudgingly offered the replacement coin for the price of initial purchase, (the gold price had risen during the intervening twenty-four hours hence, I imagine, their reluctance to do so.)
+ No communication followed this. Despite claims on their website of emails of despatch, complete with tracking number, etc nothing was received.
+ Two days passed - no delivery, no email
+ I telephoned the company to ascertain the whereabouts of my order.
+ Person who took the order was at lunch.
+ Asked to speak to a manager - manager was at lunch.
+ Finally got a call back - the order had not been processed.
+ Told me she can process it but can't guarantee next day delivery for a Saturday.
+ Asked for immediate refund - told it would take 2 - 3 working days.

Chards had my money for almost a week
As the customer all I received was a stressful experience.
Would never use again.

We called in to Chards during a recent visit to Blackpool, following an initial visit last year. On both visits we were attended to by Bhumika who we found was attentive, knowlegeable and informed. We were impressed by the way she listened to what we were saying, without pressing views or sales pitch on us. We really didnt know whether we were looking for coins to collect or as an investment, but Bhumika was able to answer our random questins and helped us work through our lack of knowledge to a splendid conclusion.
