Chesscom is beneath contempt. Short after opening my account and paying an annual registration fee of approx. 99 Chesscom accused me of cheating (using assistance e.q. computer engine) and closed my account. The immediate closing of the account was performed without any investigation. Followingly, the chesscom support was ignoring my emails. The only answers I received was that "I should reconsider my position", meaning that I should claim that I was cheating. After making it clear that I will be forced to take the legal actions and giving a deadline to Chesscom for returing my money or reopening my account, the Chesscom finally retured my money back. The whole issue took over 2 months. From my personal experience Chesscom is a bunch of hihgly incompetent self claimed "world`s leading experts" who cannot distinguish between a computer and a club player. Furthermore, chesscom treats the customer as a piece of s**t. I can only warn everybody from this chess server.

I love chess and this app looked perfect. Having opened an account, work summoned and it wasn't until a few days later I was able to play my first game. To my great surprise, I found that my profile had been blocked - with no explanation. I wrote to support who got back to me in a rather condescending email and accused me of cheating. They told me that they would offer me no evidence (they were very confident in their "investigation team") but that if I apologised for indescration they would give me a second chance. This, I must note, reminded me of being drummed our of a fundamentalist religion for asking questions! I held my tongue I won't a polite email back asking if it was possible that someone else used the account (which is surely what must have happened) and asked if they might delete the account. Rather than a "yes of course" or a "sorry to hear that" email, I got another off colour response pointing out that "It looks like the first game was a daily game played on the same day that you created the account"!!!! I had to put some thought into how to respond to this - at this point I felt more like a school child being accused of throwing the ball at the window on account of the fact the teacher now had *the ball* in their hands. I have asked chess.com to delete all my information and I now wish to have nothing to do with them - I have suggested to them that they think about how they respond to allegations (with less assumption and more listening).... nevertheless be careful if you engage with these people... something doesn't feel quiet right.

A couple years of one on one games was good, no problems there. Then I discovered the multiplayer games with four players per game. Bully central. Every game had verbal abuse of some kind. The site should have an age restriction. I reported two incidents of bullying and harsh language, but heard nothing about their response. After the second reporting, all my chat functions were shut down. I could no longer see what players were typing. That was their solution I guess: silence the ones who report abuse. About as good as any other place. Just don't let your kids near it.

DO NOT PAY ANY MONEY TO THIS GROUP OF A-HOLES!! I told them, you need to raise the bar and become more professional. Did those little boys do it? No, they kicked me off the site instead. So now they owe me $100 dollars because they couldn't handle being called out for their stupidity. A bunch of cry babies.

Product has failed since their new version. .. have complained and complained and done all their million solutions but nothing works. .. I am paid up until September but they are ignoring me about my request for a refund... I want to move on and use a service that works but they want to keep the money despite it not working... After 5 years on here this is a nasty taste in the mouth... seems they are greedy fat cats after all... not a "community" site like they like to make out

I have been playing chess for over 20 years, I was a member of USCF rated 1800. I was a paid member at chess.com. If your opponent is a sore loser or didn't like you, he/she can flag you as "poor sport". Therefore, the "poor sport" group, only playing each other's. My reporting to chess.com of cheaters, runners, speech hate, Etc. was ignored for several months, and I found myself isolated from "real chess players", I was allowed to play ONLY against cheaters and "poor sport" players. Cheaters are welcome at chess.com. AVOID!!!

I play chess whole my life, I have played lot of professional tournaments in real life. But on chess.com they "closed my account for cheating", when I reach 2000, without any evidence. When I send mail to them, they didnt answer me. My account have never be closed on other sites like lichess and RHP. And we all know that lichess is better with findind cheaters. On chess.com they have poor way to detect cheaters so they acuse probaly many innocent players. So i decide to continue playing only on lichess because Iam sure they will not ban innocent. Conslusion: This was my worst and insultung experience in chess ever. So my suggestion is dont use this site ever.

My child has been playing on Chess.com with a clean record for over 3 years. He does not use engines, and he is an honest person. He has been playing chess every day, and he always studies his past games whether or not he wins or loses. He then writes it down, what he should do in that position, and commits to memory. This has helped him play in some tournaments with almost no inaccuracies, after we ran it through the computer. One day, after he got a first place online trophy in his school club game, he got his account closed for "Violation of Fair Play." I really think that Chess.com has closed his account mistakenly. Help!

I play many many games on chess.com and have had an excellent user experience. I have upgraded to diamond membership and love the videos, lessons, tactics and training. I have recommended it to all my chess friends. My son and I also love the TV content, including the excellent coverage of the Isle of Man tournament in October 2019.

Look, I'm not a sore loser, it's just casual chess, but when I get to 1700's ratings and then go back to 1500's because I suddenly begin to lose to a bunch of 1400 rated players, there just HAS to be some bull$#*! going on. Either chess.com does not care about program users or they are in on something that stabilizes ratings for some business purpose. But my experiences is just not possible. Very bad chess site.

I've played 3,500 games on chess.com. It used to be fun, but lately it is saturated with cheaters. People have found ways to artificially lower their blitz rating far below their actual tactical ability, so their games are all one sided. People make instant and flawless moves way above their stated elo ranking. The fun is long gone out of this program, and until Chess.com gets rid of the infestation of cheaters, find another program.

I don't think that many people are cheating because there's no point in points. The site uses the Glicko Rating System. FIDE/USCF uses the Elo Rating System which isn't even remotely the same. My main issue was you're given a starting rating on signup based on how experienced you say you are. In less than a month I had to block almost 100 people for abandoning the game, intentionally letting the clock run out, stalling when their stats show them to be quite skilled. I'm new and play like it yet I was consistently matched with people rated 400 to 1000. Frustrating and boring for both sides. Customer service is a complete joke. "My name is so and so and chess is my life! We see you've cancelled your membership. I'm here to help..." After I respond, I get a different rep. Ask a technical question? They refer you to outside sources. The CS reps clearly aren't chess players. Your rating can go up or down simply because of bad net connections or people just walking away from a game. How is that fair or reasonable? I was rated over 300 but can't even beat the computer on the easiest possible setting! Really don't think people were cheating at least not in blitz because there's no reward for winning and you just get paired with more or less experienced players and other cheaters. They fail to rate or match people according to true skill. I do believe people initially cheat when signing up by saying they're new when they aren't. From there they obliterate people and get a very high score with many wins. It only takes them so far though. Some reviews state their rating went down after not playing for awhile. The site says they do that because they cant evaluate you unless you play all the time. Seriously?

First of all, it is a great app for different kinds of players from beginners to the pro ones. I've downloaded their app a few weeks ago. Points: *Lag- it is minimal throughout the app but this obvious to the lessons part *Limit to free users- it could have been increased to at least 2 lessons per day or 3 lessons. I find the one lesson per day kinda unnecessary. * There is a variety of options to do in the app from lessons to types of game you want to play.

It was nice for my 9 years old son to play and learn from this place until they closed our account. We send the appeal to ask the reason why they closed the account, but they just simply said we get outside assistance. We are so sure we did not, but they said that we probably did not notice we did break the rule, and they would be happy working with us for the account if we admit we did. So I ask them to identify which part we did wrong because this is not about the account, we would like to learn a lesson for the future. But the director of support refused to say the details. His reason is that is according to the non-disclosure policy. I doubt about it because I did not sign an agreement like that when we signed up the account, I ask him to send the link of non-disclosure policy we could learn. he declined. I checked online from chess.com, I did not find non-disclosure policy, but I do see the fairly play, I asked him to highlight those we had a problem, but he ignored our requests and told us that we could move to other chess sites, and then never responded my email. We were so frustrated with this kind of support from chess.com. I need a follow up with this issue, not just because I paid 99$ for Diamond Membership, but also about we need to be clear what I have done inappropriately, and we could learn a lesson in the future.

My account, which had a premium membership, was closed 3 months ago. I have reached out to the support team about 3 weeks ago to apologize for what I did that got my account closed, as well as attempted to apologize today by creating a temporary account and reaching out into the Help and Support forums on the site. However, even though the only thing I did was used that temporary account to apologize for what got my original account closed for abuse, all that happened was that temporary account was also closed for abuse in the same day without warning, thus ignoring my sincere apology. I felt like this was unfair treatment, so I felt very hurt, because I was apologizing, not violating community guidelines. I have tried other chess apps and sites and they're not the same because they don't have the unique features that Chess.com has, like the puzzle battles, 4 player chess, and being able to customize your own profile. These are the reasons why Chess.com was my favorite site. I miss playing chess on Chess.com because I have met some great people and clubs on the site, and now I'm unable to enjoy what I used to enjoy because my account is closed. I hope someone can help me here and give me a second chance. I am committed to following Chess.com's community guidelines and Terms of Service. Thank you for your help and stay safe.
