Training for 23 years I've been to a fair few of the best gyms in Sydney. From day one have not had a pleasant experience at Crunch. They are all about gaining as much members as possible. Money is more important than well being which ironically is why we attend a gym. Staff are rude. Equipment is always damaged. Benches are torn. Would not recommend it.

I joined up for a year and paid in advance I was told you get 6mths extra free she hand write the extra 6 mths on contract but when it hit my year (12ths) I was told my membership finished. Didn’t get my extra 6 mths disappointed. I didn’t bother renewing my contract. Lucky it wasn’t direct debit

On top of the monthly fee, there is a quarterly fee, which they don't tell you about. I'm not sure if that's legal.
To make a point, you can advertise monthly membership at 99c per month but quarterly fee is $100.
Seems like they found a loop hole in advertising....

I have been a member in past in Crunch Alexandria and after rejoining I am happy to be back,great free weights cardio,sauna and table tennis and you can bring you friend free.

When my husband wanted to cancel membership after not attending but paying it for a year, he was asked to walk in and fill in the form. He did the form however we were charged $100 after what we thought was 'cancellation'. This money was never refunded to us, form they claimed had been lost, despite this walk in policy being in place to ensure forms don't get lost, when I asked for answers they said it is my word against theirs, and he was openly laughing on the phone. When I asked to speak to a manager, he said he was general manager, that it is us that actually lost form and so on, what a joke. When I asked contact email where I could send complain, he gave me their marketing email, so my complain went nowhere. After several calls and managers never present to solve customer issues, we were promised to receive call by another staff member, but it still never happened.
Anyhow we never received back our $100 that crunch Rockdale stole and they made us come in second time to fill another form to ensure they stop charging us.

I am happy with crunch parramatta and have been a member for a while now. I had surgery So I was away for 6 months. Zumba instructors are all good but when I came back 3 weeks ago I was so dismayed with the instructor which I think is not a qualified zumba instructor. She is hardly moving and I remember her to be just one attending zumba. How come she became an instructor when she doesn't know a proper zumba classes and I can only attend on a weekend. Waste of money. You should change her and check her qualifications.

Bad customer service , Unauthorised transaction with false information ,I called to check why they debited 40$ extra , they informed that it is annual fee, this was never told to me during my joining , false information to make a sale , The lady told she did not sell it she don't know and check with whom i purchased.

Joined up.yes free membership.3 mths after try hitting me up for an annual fee.told them there got 4 weeks advance off me when joined so let that run out and finish.no u still have to pay another $75 to leave.JOKE dont join they are scammers

A random 40 dollars ANNUAL FEE charged from my account without any notice, no email, no explanation at the time of signing up, i wouldn't have even signed up for them as i was only planning to use the gym for a total of 4 months. When i called in, the staff did not even have to ask who i was, and was able to tell me the extra 40 dollars was for ANNUAL FEE. i m sure hundreds of people are charged the same amount without being informed, terribly dishonest!

Cancelled within my cooling off period, they charged me for another 6 months. I continued to email them to get it sorted, they finally cancelled it but have not refunded any money. No one will respond to me, I finally thought I had some luck, as a team leader started emailing me and he has now gone MIA and will not respond to emails. Such a terrible experience, it might be a cheap membership, but cheap is what you get.

i recently moved to crunch from another gym and the atmosphere in Crunch Alexandria is the most amazing place. the equipment is amazing and is never broken.
The gym itself is huge and you're never waiting for machiences like other gyms.
Its the best place to work out in.
The staff are all friendly as well which is a plus

I was offered a 3 day trial pass and came to claim it the next week but it was reneged, the customer service was atrocious. Rude woman [name removed] completely inflexible and non receptive of anything. false information was given resulting in unsatisfied customers. Would not be recommended by me to any of my extensive network circle.

I went to Bankstown crunch gym to downgrade my membership and they ended up resigning me and then charged me $138.50. I have been asking for my refund and it's been almost four weeks. I am gonna call fair trading tomorrow hopefully they can help Me. They do have some hidden charges which they don't tell us at the start.

Joined up to Crunch in Chatswood for two years back in 2015-2016, signed up again last month in Parramatta.

My partner knew about the trouble with cancelling memberships at gyms so we opted to pay our annual membership fee up-front and renew as we go to avoid problems. So far we don't have any beef about credit card reduction with Crunch.

They advertise themselves as no-frill, no bells and whistles gym, so I don't understand why people constantly complain about facilities, why, do you expect caviar with your fries when you have a meal at Maccas? I found them to be rather good with equipment most of the time, Chatswood branch has a problem of not having too many bikes and cardio equipment due to the size of their floor space, but Parramatta has plenty of cardio equipment that takes up half of the floor. Any equipment out of order are repaired relatively quickly, and as long as you don't go during the peak hours there is hardly any issues. While there are people who just lounge on weight equipment looking at their phones and give you the dirties when you even dare ask if they are finished, those tend to be in the minority.

Then there's enforcement of the floor rules, which are appropriate attire, no bags allowed on the gym floor, work out with towels, and if you don't have a towel, wipe down the equipment after use. There are a precious few that follows the towel or wipe the equipment rule, and no one seems too bothered to enforce them.

Locker rooms are relatively tidy, though there are people who doesn't bother locking their lockers and sometimes when it is a bit crowded you can open up to 3 locker doors and find someone else's stuff inside. There are notes up on the walls that tells you the rules, most common one was that the lockers are emptied at the end of the day - if you stick around until closing time you sometimes see staff actually cut the locks and empty out the contents. I know in some gyms you can hire out a locker for a certain amount of time, but they don't offer that at Crunch and it is against their rules if you intend to leave anything in there over one day.

Shower facilities are not too bad, reminds me of school gym showers, every since I heard stories of people getting mildew on their feet from going to gym showers in bare feet, so I bring a pair of thongs.

So, overall a good gym for its price range, and I will probably stay with them for the foreseeable future.

I find Bankstown Crunch to be the best gym in value and service .With the greatest and skilled instructors Oz our gladiator who kills me with every muscle which aches the next day and Bianca the Pilates queen who gracefully strengthens my core working us hard. Love the people Sam (Jack of all trades) and the girls at the desk who greet you with a warm welcome and smile every time . I have never been so inspired to come to place to workout as I do here . I really look forward to going to the gym at crunch !

Daughter signed up and computer glitch on the day at the centre meant two membership numbers allocated to her and we started being debited double for everything. Called the centre and they said they would fix. Nothing changed. Daughter went in to see staff and they said they would pass info to admin staff to fix again. Still nothing and it had been ongoing for 8 weeks by then. Used website online to explain problem but heard nothing from main office. Daughter when in to local gym again and advised admin guy who said he would send to head office for refund. That was over a week ago and still nothing. Called local gym again and they advised refunds only processed once a month from head office so need to wait. Great so we have been waiting since sept 2018. Ridiculous service !

Just went down the gym like everyone else some for got their towels so they made us pay $6 a towel that you can get at Big W for $1. Also the staffs are snobby once they sign you up. They don't even acknowledge us.. Totally sh...t environment to workout at the gym

Used to have fortnightly debits every second Friday, however, on Tuesday 15/09/2019 got a notification that my debit was declined. I went in on Wednesday to address that i had enough funds for the debit however they told me they had this annual maintenance fee for $40 added which is why my debit declined. I told them i was happy to pay the amount however he told me i have to pay a late fee on my fortnightly debit as well. When i tried to address that if i had known that a maintenance fee would be charged i would have transferred enough funds to be debited however according to their gym policy no notifications are sent. Then i tried to question them why I wasnt informed on Friday 11/10 when my debit actually declined so that i would have come to the gym to clear the fees they couldnt give me any reasonable explanation and tried to ignore my questions by aggressively saying -you dont have money! When i asked to speak to the manager then person address himself as the manager and wouldnt listen to me at all. After that he cut me off very rudely every time i tried to seek explanations from them. He had the worst behaviour ever and the way he spoke to me is not acceptable at all. I felt scared and bullied by the tone of his voice and the way he threw the contract paper at me mentioning the $40 maintenance fee charge after 3 month which i had already mentioned i was happy to pay even though nobody told me about this while signing up.
Crunchy really needs to train their employees on etiquette. Please do better! Never going to this gym or recommending it to anyone. Today they just lost a member!

I love the gym and the staff though when Crunch start debiting the wrong amount in excess out of your account and after 5 weeks, approx 10 emails, over 10 phone calls, spoken to 3 managers, Ian, Patrick and Joe. $216 in total. And when I am a single mother with 2 teenagers. It’s unprofessional. Promises to have it of extreme importance but to no success because accounts are always on holidays. I’m frustrated and disappointed. And to top it all off, my daughter and I are embarrassed everytime we go in because every new receptionist says out loud, we are not allowed in because “we owe Crunch money”. When it’s the other way around. It’s embarrassing to keep having to explain the situation. Great club though. I can’t complain there!
