I ordered an 11 piece outdoor patio set. When I unpacked the order 2 of the pieces were damaged. The company will not issue a replacement for them. I had the Havana Outdoor Patio Set (3B-YC024-A13810) delivered on May 9, 2012. My order number with designfurnishings.com is #1887. I have tried to resolve this issue directly with the company since May 10th but as of today May 30th I am not getting an adequate response which is why I am filing this complaint. The delivery occurred in the morning and the shipment contained 5 large boxes. The exterior of the boxes did not show any sign of damage so I accepted the delivery and went to work. I unpacked the order when I got home from work that afternoon and discovered that the coffee table and one of my club chairs were damaged inside of the box. I immediately called Design Furnishings that day and let them know that I would be filing an online claim form and providing them with pictures of the damage. After filing my claim form it took over two weeks to get in touch with my claim consultant, Jennifer. I was getting the run around everytime that I called. I called everyday at least twice a day and was told that Jennifer was not in yet, on another call, in a meeting, ect. Finally, when I did get in touch with her she indicated that they would issue a $75 credit for my broken glass on the coffee table but that I would have to pay to ship the club chair back and get a new one sent to me. This is an unacceptable response in my opinion. I have paid $2409 for this set and I have not recieved a complete set in my opinion. It is not my fault that there was damage inside of the boxes during shipping and I should not have to incur additional expense to get replacements for the damaged items I recieved. I submitted my claim for within 48 hours like the designfurnishings.com website says I should do but the company is not honoring my request. They should ship me out a new coffee table and club chair to complete my set and upon inspection of the items I will gladly ship the defective pieces back to them with the same carrier. However, that is not a cost that I should be required to pay. This company has made no attempt to make the customer happy and they are not customer service oriented at all. In addition to my damaged items that I recieved, the cushions on the set was also shipped in the wrong color. I ordered my set in Taupe and an additional set of covers in Henna Spice. However, the set I recieved is the Sand color covers. And apparently the Taupe and Henna Spice covers are on back-order but I doubt that I will ever see them based on the level of customer service that I have recieved so far. If I had known this was the level of customer service that I would receive then I would have ordered a patio set from a different company. I understand that when shipping items across the county from California to Maryland that there is a possibility that an item may be damaged. I would expect when this occurs that the company would do everything possible to get the customer the product that they ordered.

DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY. THEY DO NOT VALUE YOU AS A CUSTOMER AND ONCE THEY HAVE YOUR MONEY THEY WILL NOT HELP YOU IF YOU HAVE AN ISSUE. SPEND YOUR MONEY WITH A COMPANY THAT APPRECIATES YOUR BUSINESS.

Our patio furniture arrived 1 week earlier than we expected which was great since we had planned a backyard party and didn't think we'd get our order in time. But we did and it fit perfectly and looks like furniture costing a lot more than we paid. My wife and I were a little hesitant at first after seeing some negative reviews but our experience has been great. I know sometimes only the negative stuff gets on sites like this so I wanted to give this company a big THANK YOU. You've got 2 fans in Dallas, TX

After less than one year are swivel rocker bearing disintegrated. They ask for pictures and then asked us to mail the entire peace back to them. This is furniture! When I offered to purchase the part and mail them the bill they said that I must follow the warranty and that's how not how their warranty works. Even Amazon and other companies give you an RMA to ship their product back to them. Beautiful stuff but pray nothing goes wrong. They don't stand by their product and they do not work with you. My advice, don't do business with this company.

I bought a patio furniture set from Design Furnishings at the end of July last year for $1400. It's now the beginning of October (14 months later). I unzipped the covers on the cushions to swap them out for the other set that was clean, when I found that the cushion casings inside the covers had completely disintegrated. The cushion is made of lightweight filling that flew all over my porch and had to be vacuumed up. I called the company (and sent pictures) of the mess, and they informed me that the cushions aren't covered under their warranty and that I'd have to pay $500 to replace the cushions! I told them that though it might not be covered under warranty, they might want to consider giving good customer service in order to uphold their reputation for being a quality furniture company. However, they dismissed me and told me that they wouldn't replace the cushions for me. Unreal! I paid $1400 to use my furniture for one season. Thanks guys.

Where do I begin...Lets start with the false advertisment on the website that you order will ship in 2 days. My order was in stock and it took two weeks to ship. Then it took 2 more weeks to arrive. The delivery company they outsource to called and scheduled delivery for a Tuesday but didn't deliver the product until Wednesday which caused problems because I had made arrangements with my work to be home on Tuesday. Then the product comes and I was very disappointed. The wicker is made extremely cheap and it's extrememly uncomfortable. When you spend over $1000 on something you expect to be satisfied when you wait 4 weeks and it finally arrives but unfortunately I hate this set and wish I could send it back.

Purchased over $4000 worth of furniture from this company on March 13 2013 which was 4 years ago and contacted the company 8 months after purchasing the items and informed them that the furniture looked like it was melting. Never received a response and followed up a couple months later with a phone call and voicemail with still no response. I then decided to just ride it out and see how it transpired because I did not have time to keep trying to contact them so over the next couple of years I slowly watched the furniture just fall apart and this year its not even usable. I pulled it out of storage and all of the wicker has separated and fell apart. Literally the furniture disintegrated. I sent them pic the other day again and asked for help and they said the couldn't do anything because it had been 4 years. Keep in mind I had contacted them just a few months about this problem initially multiple times and never received a response. Reguardless anyone would expect to get more than 4 years out of $4050 worth of furniture. That is basically paying $1000 a year for furniture. Most people wouldn't know what the life expectancy would be for outdoor furniture so let me put it this way. I have a house boat with the same kind of wicker furniture that has been on it for 8 years subject to way more elements than backyard and it shows no sign of wear especially not fallen to pieces and unable anymore. This places furniture is junk and overpriced, the customer service is horrible and the warranties are a joke. They won't call you back or reply to a email if there is a chance of it being replaced under warranty but when they know warranty has expired they will quickly reply and tell you tough luck and be extremely rude. I thought at the least the would offer a discount on something else just as a act of generosity for the poor quality furniture and the lack of replies from cutover service on the initial complaint but they said the were not going to do anything and took no responsibility for no responses or the furniture defects and pretty much told me dont let the door knob hit you on the way to another store. If you want to throw thousands down the drain and be lied to about warranties then this is the place if not then I highly suggest finding another company and manufacture because this is overpriced junk!!!
