Have been with Drivalia for approx 10 years now. The cars are well prepared and issue free. Their staff are polite and helpful speak good English.
The service they give is excellent summer and winter.

It was perfect our flight was delayed so arrive very late at night, the lady was there waiting for us very pleasant and helpful even though it was so late she spent time helping us with our Sat nav very impressed

Our plane was delayed until 1am but the reception was still friendly, there was an out of hours charge but it was clearly displayed when we booked. We took full insurance on booking, everything was fine.

Hired a car at Gerona airport with them in July 2019.

Picked it up at 1am in the morning and was forced to take out extra insurance to cover me in Europe before the would release the car.

I advised them I had already purchased extra insurance so did not need their additional cover. Was told they would not release the car to me unless I took the extra cover. Shocking.

And at 1am I did not have much options to go elsewhere as I had already paid a deposit which they would not refund. Therefore I decided to pay the extra insurance in order to get the car, with the goal to complain after I returned home.

Have since complained to them via my credit card company who also agree they have acted in a terrible way - however as I have inputed my pin number at the point of purchase, Drivalia are saying I accepted their terms of transaction! Again, this is shocking. I only entered my pin to get the car as I had a tired family with me that just wanted to get to the resort!

Would never use again. In fact I used Hertz/Thrifty on a booking this month and it was seamless. So professional. No sales pitch for extra insurance. And when I returned the car it was so professional. I'd avoid companies like Drivalia as they do not have the customer at the core of their customer service. Only sales people looking to use your weakness and poor situation to their advantage so they can sell you extra insurance that you don't need in order to earn more commission.

This is my third time hiring from Drivalia this year. I always go for the Ultimate Package, as there are no hidden charges for insurance etc. Arriving at the airport and finding the bus pick up point, we were quickly picked up by the bus and taken to the car hire depot. There, we were shown to the office and quickly registered for the car. A few simple questions and, after showing my documentation, I was given the car keys and told where my car was waiting. Cars all looked very new, mine was clean, with very low mileage and a full tank of fuel. I used the car all week and only had to return it with a full tank of fuel. Upon return, I was met by a staff member, who took the keys, checked the fuel level and thanked me for hiring from Drivalia. The shuttle bus was waiting onsite and we were taken back to the airport and dropped off quickly.
I doubt, having found Drivalia, that I will bother looking for car hire from anyone else. Their prices are clear, no nasty surprises when you arrive at the pick up desk for insurance, deposits etc.

Thanks again Drivalia for providing great cars, service and friendly staff.

I have been renting off Drivalia for the last 7 years and have never had a problem. From pick up to drop off, it's plain sailing. I always take out the Ultimate Package, that way I know I'll never have any issues or hidden costs. Fantastic Car hire company I couldn't reccomend Drivalia any more. I definitely look forward to hiring from them in the future.

We have used Drivalia for a few years now and have not had a bad experience yet. They are always helpful and look after return customers very well.
We always get the full insurance on our policy which lifts any worry from our minds.
Give them a chance, you won't be disappointed.

We picked our car up in November, did not get what we ordered but a good alternative, car was only 5 month old.
So for price, ease of renting and curtesy I gave them 5 star.

First of all, thanks for the quick responde.

There are several points that I'd like to address in response to your comments:

1 - As you mentioned, it's more convenient for the customer to pay the 40 euros instead of incurring in admin costs. BUT, I asked several times to do the opposite, even though I would incur on those costs, and I was repeatedly denied the right to do that.

2 - When you say heavy scractching, that is probably really subjective. From the point of view of more than 10 people that I showed the image, 100% disagreed (you can see the picture here: i.imgur .com/WIax5nE .jpg)
Also, that was the reason I didn't point out the scratch in the first time, it didn't seen significant to me.

3 - As you may imagine, it's 100% impossible to check the whole vehicle. I recorded a 360 degrees video of the car, but unfortunately that specific wheel trim is not fully visible.
When asked to check the photos of the current damages and zoom in the wheel trim, I was denied the right to do that.

4 - Lastly, to your all-inclusive package that " offers complete peace of mind", seems to be: pay for the insurance, or we will create a damage to charge you for, as seen in other comments.

I will make sure to use all the possible means to disseminate this story and avoid future clients on the same trap.

On Mar 2nd, 2020 I went to return a vehicle rented from Drivalia Bilbao.
The person that served me diidn't want to disclose her full name, as she already knew the terrible service that she was offering, so she just answered for "Cristina".

There are some complaints that I have about her service, from soft to extreme ones.
1 - The first one is in relation to the service level. She is definitely not ready to deal with the public. An ironic, nervous and not respectful staff shouldn't be in touch with customers.
2 - The second one is about company's core business. She didn't follow basic steps. It means, she invented a scratch on one the tires, but she didn't allow me to see previous pictures of vehicle's damage (already mentioned in the contract).
3 - The most extreme one. She didn't allow me to leave the office unless I give her my card.
Apart from being a crime, I really don't get it, if the company has 1,000 euros blocked from my card and I refuse to pay (40 euros) for something that I don't recognize, why should she bother?

As a conclusion, and feeling threatened by her and fearing to lose my flight, she obliged me to pay for something that had nothing to do with me.
I've tried to show her a complete video that I recorded from the car, but she didn't bother to watch and said it was not listed as a previous scratch.

In conclusion, I can just advise others to do not use Drivalia' services, since it's impossible to predict all the tricks that their imagination can develop, and more than that, for personal safety reason

I hired a car with insurance plus the platinum insurance waiver, I have had to make a claim for £500 due to damage to car, I have filled in the forms and was told I would hear back with in 48hrs from a claim rep, this was over 11 days ago, I have e-mailed with ref numbers 3 days ago and have yet to hear back from them, they are quck enough to take the money at the start but not very timely when it comes to settle ant claims, I will definatly not be using this company again.
