Well I purchased a scratch & dent insurance policy from this company. After about 7 month I had to make a claim from some scratches and a minor dent. The scratched were under the length limit as per policy. I sent them pictures and without even sending someone to look at the car they rejected my claim stating that the scratches are too deep! So essentially they are selling you a policy for minor scratches which one can easily remove using scratch removing creams like T-Cuts. Customers are duped into thinking that a deep scratch or dent would be covered but they are not. Only those scratches are covered that could be easily removed at home by the policy holder. Don't waste your £160/Year for nothing instead give business to local body shops to get deep scratches removed at fraction of price. You can always remove light scratches yourself with T-Cut!!!!

Having shopped round for GAP insurance through Land Rover and other insurers I came across David and Tim, I have to say David explained in great detail about GAP Insurance.
Having got comparable quotes which where dearer I then spent time going through the quotations before the 30days shut off, I rang back and spoke to Tim who again was thorough.
After 28 days I took out GAP instance for a new Discovery 5 with David / Tim.
Policy price was the most competitive, Policy detail was what I wanted, service was excellent 10/10.
Took out a policy for 4 years with peace of mind and if I change my car after 3yrs a can get the 4th year premium refunded plus it’s a UK backed policy non of your overseas dodgy insurance that you can’t get your money back ???

Very confused about types of Gap insurance but one phone call clarified the differences and I went ahead and saved myself pounds against same Gap Insurance offered by BMW retailer. Highly recommended.

I hadn’t even heard about gap insurance until the dealer who I was buying my car from was trying to sell it to me (along with another £1200 worth of unnecessary extras). I decided to do a bit of online research and after clicking on a forum by a company recommended on moneysupermarketexpert I came across several reviews saying how the recommended company had failed to deliver. One person had recommended gapinsurance.co,uk. So following a bit more research I was pleased to read all the 5 star reviews. I did an online quote which came to less than half the £399 the dealer was trying to sell me. This quote was for a 4 year replacement car gap insurance opposed to the dealers 3 year back to invoice insurance. I phoned the company and spoke to Tim who was very polite and helpful and not at all pushy. Then after checking the underwriters were safe and legitimate, I called again and spoke to David who was also very polite and helpful and not pushy either. I would highly recommend using these guys as they are open and honest unlike the dealers who just try to push for an extortionate quick sell to obtain their commission. Thank you Tim and David for some peace of mind! But obviously the ultimate test is if I need to make a claim

I have purchased my last 4 or 5 gap insurance polices from Gap Insurance and have always had a professional service and sound advice from the guys in the team. Will not hesitate to use them again or recommend them to family and friends.

Have used several times and have found them to be first class and straight forward easy to understand ,very helpful ,I have changed at least 5 cars and the total price over that time has been cheaper than a main dealer for 1car .

Telephone answered very promptly, my requirements thoroughly considered, excellent advice for the cover I required and the cost for 4 years is considerably lower than that offered by the BMW dealer supplying my new car.
I would certainly recommend this company.

Have previously used this company under the surf & protect name, good discussion with Tim about gap insurance and bought replacement vehicle gap insurance for much less than the dealer quote for return to invoice gap.
Very good to deal with on price and information.

I wouldn't consider buying Gap insurance from a dealer, as their prices are always far higher. I've used Pickles for the last two new cars, so the question of where to buy top-up cover didn't arise. What was less obvious was whether the cover was worth buying at all, given that the probability of a claim is low, and the premium is a fairly large percentage of the potential value of a claim.

Once I'd decided to go ahead, the online system worked well, with one glitch -- it tried to set up the new policy while the old one was active, and wouldn't let me move the start date to avoid an overlap.

So I called the Halifax number, and a very helpful person said he would adjust the date and confirm by email. He did exactly what he promised, so excellent service.

I found David very helpful and knowledgeable however he let himself down by getting my email address wrong so we had to call a second time as the documents did not arrive. The second person we asked to call us did take a bit longer to call than we expected based on David calling back within a couple of minutes. Both people were helpful and a pleasure to deal with
