This was my first box, all but two of the tins are dented, one of the lemons has a large poor spot at one end, and the box only contained two small potatoes, whereas the recipes detailed that 14 potatoes were required in total. Therefore I will need to go out and purchase more potatoes, which defeats the point of having complete meals delivered. Not a good first impression at all.

Have been having two deliveries weekly for past 14 months. Yesterday they sent me an email thanking me for my loyalty. Today cannot order as they say my subscription was paused last year! Customer service not empathetic at all. Really on delivery because in that age group for self isolation

I have been using gousto for nearly two months, having recommended lots of people I was informed today that my account was out on pause which I did not do! And now I won’t be receiving any more boxes at this time with everything going on! Great the whole reason I signed up to this was because I’m heavily pregnant and I know I would always have healthy food in for my family! And now I don’t have anything, yet all the people I have recommended are enjoy there boxes I’m here with NOTHING! I must also say my last box I was also kind enough to delay my box by 2 days to help them out with this busy period! Not good customer service atal!!! I have also tried to sort this via email, live chat and phone!

False referral discount offer changed 5 minutes after delivered I was so impress that I rated the recipes 5 stars. At the end of it I received an offer to refer my friends for 50%discount for the first 2 boxes for them and £15 for me. Of course, I immediately told 2 of my friend that were at home with me but when they tried to join, the offer was not valid, it only gives 40% for the first time and 30% after for a month. In disbelieve, I started a chat with the customer service person called Carole (8 minutes after I received the 50%off voucher) but she told me that the voucher expired on the 26th. Luckily I took a picture of it so I sent it to her and showed her it was just been sent to me (today at 2.19pm), how could have been expired? She told me to let my friends join and then, after they joined, they have to call a number to get the 50%discount applied. Now, one of my friend did that (luckily not the second one), it took 20 minute on the phone to be told that the discount cannot be applied but as a gesture of good will she will give him a discount on the first box not the second. They said that they have the right to change the offer as they are pleased. Of course, they have the right to change it even 5 minutes later they send it to you, incredible! Anyway, they surely won't have any more referrals from me, I was so happy to tell my friends about it but after both the customer service people have not granted the voucher, all the excitement has now long gone! Gousto food is really good, I have joined last week and cooked few of the recipes, they are very nice, fresh ingredients and highly organised but they need to changed the way they honour their promises. Very very disappointed, you could have had 5 stars but chose not to

First of all, delivery is separate from Gousto (we have DPD who literally do ‘knock door bunk’ and b*gger off leaving your parcel on the door step - worst courier ever!). The meat doesn’t seem to have long dates and we have complained about the chicken being ‘off’ even before it’s date. When I have needed to cancel, money has been taken from my account and no reminders are ever sent to your phone or email (a good idea perhaps?). Hello Fresh has by far been the best but we chose Gusto after recommendations online. Have now cancelled subscription and won’t be returning... the concept now brilliant if they sort out the courier issues, the short life of the meat and taking payments.

Had my first box delivered on Sunday. I was so fed up going round a supermarket trying to decide what to cook so decided to give Gousto a go. The ingredients were really fresh and good quality. The cooking experience is great and instructions are really easy to follow. Before Gousto, cooking involved putting things in the oven. I now really enjoy the process in cooking a meal and my 5 year old loves helping me prep and cook. There are plenty of recipes (even some for the fussiest of eaters). I have just ordered my second box. Delivery was on time and packaging was fully intact.

I looked at the Gousto website to see prices for a family member, did not press check out yet 4 meals are being delivered to me today. Contacted customer support who did not help at all and told me I placed an order when I know I did not. Why auto checkout if you have food in your cart? I was just price checking and now it is going to go to waste. Also when I send further emails to them it just says "Sorry we did not receive your email"

I made my first order in food faith, I had friends order for a dinner party and decided to order through Gousto. The order was placed to be delivered on the 19th of January having placed the order a week in advance. On the day off the delivery I had stayed in during the timeslot booked when to my amazement I was informed the delivery could not be made and a calling card left. Interesting as I have CCTV at home and when I informed Gousto, this was simply ignored and I was informed some days later this box off fresh food in fact could not be re delivered as the box was damaged. The fact no one had tried to deliver and I was lied to did not get resolved and because I was not happy I emailed in requesting a refund and not that the company was a least bit interested I had to dash out and buy ingredients last minute for the dinner party I was hosting. After 4 days I was informed a refund was made. And the subscription was cancelled. To my utter shock another payment was taken by the company and an order placed of my behalf. When I questioned this I was informed I had received the emails informing me to place an order and a reminder. I can categorically say no emails were received and after such a shocking service I would never use this company again. A company that not only lies to its customers but also removes money from there account. I feel so strongly against this service I have contacted trading standards and will make sure another customer does not suffer at the hands of gousto.

We have been loyal gousto customers for 2 years during which time we’ve received no rewards/discounts (which I know other recipe box customers get) but have been surprised to see that throughout the corona crisis we simply been unable to order any meals as priority has been given to new customers? This is not the way to reward loyalty Gousto and you need to get it sorted or you’ll be losing more customers than just us.

The meat sent to me yesterday had one days shelf life. The things are terrible, not only do they smell, they are little bits of chicken and not a complete thigh. I get these at least once a week and always the same as though they are off cuts rather than a full chicken thigh. Don’t look nice.

I was a customer of Gousto before all this pandemic and was loyal to weekly orders. Yet it seems greed has taken over and they are tying to take on more and more customers even though they often (almost each order) miss items, send inadequate meat etc. Very disappointing. I am trying hello fresh next week now.

ordered my first box to be delivered it didnt arrive did an online chat with them the girl said i would be compensated did an online chat with them again today as they didnt get back to me said they would give me my money back didnt offer an alternative to deliver my boxes but asked about compensation said they would give me 30% but i get that anyway until end of march wont use them again

I have now been using gousto for 6 months, and have to say it has been great, never had a problem with service or skipping orders, the quality of food is of good quality. I have shopped at all the major supermarkets and it does not match the quality of meat, it certainly isn't pumped with water.

I really like the idea of gousto and the recipes are good but the courier service is awful. On two occasions, the delivery driver didn’t knock on the door, ignored our delivery instructions, dropped our boxes from height on the floor. The first time this happened, I raised a complaint and gousto said this would be handled. The second time, it wasn’t. The delivery eh driver looked in our living room window, saw we were in and dropped the box from height at our door. I opened the door and tried to speak to the delivery driver but he repeatedly ignored me and drove off. The response from gousto when I called to tell them was poor - just an apology and another promise that this would be resolved. We no longer will order from them, it’s really disappointing.

I have ordered 4 boxes - about 1 a month rather than a weekly delivery. They are real treats. So easy to make that I don’t have to prepare too much in advance. I have found the fresh ingredients have been fine. There is no wastage at all. The spices have improved my cooking. I usually get these when my son comes. He has been trying to lose weight and learn to cook. I am impressed that he has dropped 2 sizes and loves making these meals. They are particularly good for vegetarian visitors. Box arrives at a reasonable time and the cool pack sheeps wool is useful in the garden.

I've been a Gousto customer for over a year now. I recommend it to everyone and I love it. The recipes are delicious and getting all the ingredients delivered takes the hassle out of meal planning and shopping. At £2.98 per serve it's well worth it for the time and faff I save. I've also reduced my food waste and my boyfriend now does a lot more of the cooking so it's a big win in my book! The subscription element of the service doesn't suit me as I have a busy schedule and I'm often out during the week so I've paused my subscription (super easy to do you literally click one thing when you're signed in to your account). And I order "one-off" boxes as and when I want them. Usually about 2 per month.

I ordered my first box with 3 average meals. In a week time I noticed that £29.99 left my account again for another 3 meals. I believe I chose the 'one off option', therefore quickly checked my account to realise that they not only charged me for recipes that I did not choose or want, but it is coming in 3 days time and I cannot do anything about it. I straight away cancelled my account and requested a refund explaining the situation. Joshua out of the customer service team answered me saying that it was well explained what I signed up for and that I received an email to choose the new recipes, but as I did not choose anything, the chef went ahead and chose the new meals based on my preferences. He also said they are unable to give me a refund, but could give me 30 % back as a good will gesture. First of all: I chose a one off order, therefore no it is not fair to go ahead and charge me every week for something that I did not sign up for. Also, when I got an email to choose the meals I thought it was just them trying to get me to order again. I would have never imagined that they have the cheek to choose recipes for me and go like: since you did not choose, here you go. And the cheekiest of it all is him saying 'based on your preferences'. My first box only consisted meals that are vegetarian and pescetarian, because that is what I am. Then they chose spaghetti bolognese and chicken curry and say it is based on my preference is a bit out of order and very disrespectful. I will not take the box, thank you very much. They can keep my money, if they need it that much, but no thank you, I do not want to receive something that I DID NOT ORDER. What should I do with meat? Highly unprofessional. If the box is attempted to be delivered, I will refuse to take it. Disgusting customer service. It is a shame because I might have given it another go at some point, but now I will tell everyone how ridiculous of a company this is.

Ordered a box last night supposedly with 60% off. Checked my bank account and I've been charged full price. Contacted your customer services team via email and all my emails bounced. Finally managed to get in touch with someone and they have no record of my order despite the money leaving my account. No idea if the food is actually going to turn up or not, and the company don't care. Daylight robbery and shockingly poor service. Avoid at all costs!

We have used Gousto for the past few months, having boxes most weeks up to the lockdown. Since then we haven’t had boxes due to the reduced menu. Yesterday, I noticed that a payment was pending to Gousto and an order had been placed with three meals we would not like. I contacted Gousto and was told that chefs choose the menus if you don’t (even though that hasn’t happened in the previous four months at all) and it was too late to cancel. I didn’t receive and email to tell me a box was on it’s way. I requested this be sent to a charity or organisation where vulnerable people could make use of the meals but was told it couldn’t be changed, even though delivery isn’t scheduled for another two days. Very disappointed as previous meals were on the whole very nice.
