Do not buy from Hive (Centrica)I purchased 5 hive lights 10 days ago with the promised delivery of 3-5 days. 10 days later still no delivery. After multiple attempts to find out why, I eventually got through on webchat. Glib replies such as "I understand your frustration, you will receive your order within a few days of it being processed" I asked when will it be processed? "I dont know" was the reply. So I cancelled to be told that I will receive a refund within 15 days! they took my payment immediately yet wont refund immediately. I have bought the lights from Currys and they are out for delivery tomorrow and at a lower cost than the "special deal" with Hive. Awful customer service, awful sales,. Stay clear

Items back-ordered for months, some parts of the order were cancelled without consultation or being given a choice. On the other hand, one package got lost in the mail and I received a replacement, and customer service was relatively quick and efficient once I contacted them.

Found Hive randomly during lockdown trying to find a local bookseller, was hooked by the idea of donating some commission to my local bookshop which isnt currently open. Great service! Easy and fairly quick delivery from ordering on tuesday they arrived saturday morning, free delivery option. And student discount if 10%! Would recommend.

Fast delivery (not 1 day, but 2 or 3), donates to your local bookshop with each purchase, GIVES US A NON-AMAZON OPTION. What's not to like?

If you are looking for an alternative to large multinationals who do not pay proper taxes in the UK then here is a good one. Rather than make a vastly rich man even richer, contribute to your local economy. The service is good so you lose nothing. The nation gains and, if you select the option, your local bookshop gains as well.

I ordered these from Canada for my best friend who lives in the UK. I bought them for her 30th birthday. They arrived quickly and in great condition. And I shared with her that give donated the books to a local bookshop in her area and she was so happy.

I love using this small independent bookshop rather than a large multinational corporation. It donates to local bookshops as well. Downloading an e book took a little bit of effort but worked well.

I was looking for a copy of The Brit Guide to Orlando and I usually go to Amazon but decided to shop around and found it on this site at an excellent price. The delivery was very quick and I was emailed when it was dispatched. However, another good thing is that this site makes a donation to a local book shop of your choice. I will certainly use again.

Always good to support an organisation that pays UK taxes and independent book shops.

The books came very quickly and in very good condition. This is my go to site to get books.

I have used Hive a few times now during lockdown - to buy books for myself & also as gifts for friends and family. Their range of choice and the ability to support a local bookshop is great. The website is easy to use & delivery has been good too!

I ordered a book on the 18th, it came in the 21st, very good service, best price i could find (including pre owned). I also like that they give a donation to a local bookshop in your area!

I've ordered several books from Hive over the 12 months and without exception each order has been processed swiftly, the items dispatched ASAP, and the packaging perfect. Cannot recommend enough.

Excellent service which has helped keep my elderly mother stuck in isolation in London entertained as has been difficult to send anything to her from Australia, which is where I am. The internet site was easy to use, prices were great and free quick delivery . Highly recommend them.
