I've been dealing with Jameco over 2 years. Great prices & shipping is very fast. No problems with any order. Easy to find needed parts. I had a project with unusal transistor. They don't have it. I e-mailed their technical service dept. for any ideas what to use. Tony Green replied promptly, he needed more info. I sent schematic & parts list. He promptly replied again with their part # and why it would work as opposed to one I thought of using. I placed my order for 30 plus other parts from them as soon as he replied. Their tech service is great as is the rest of company. Try Jameco & you will become a regular customer. Check out Club Jameco for buying or selling kits. Hi, I design and develop microprocessor kits for model builders and have used Jameco for over 10 years for many of the components we use in our products. I like the fast shipping and quality of the items I receive. The shipping options are good and reasonable for the basic UPS ground shipping.

It took three weeks for Jameco to realize they accepted a payment made via PayPal that wasn't associated with an order. Before the money was ultimately refunded, I'd placed another order with Jameco. The next day I received notification that a payment was being refunded back to my PayPal account.

Now the timing was unfortunate. I made a purchase one day and received the notice of a refund the next day. Putting the two together, I thought the refund was for my most recent order, so I ordered similar items from a different supplier. I found out today that Jameco shipped the most recent order and that the refund was for an order that was never placed but charged for. As a result, I'll either have twice as many items as I need (and have paid for) or I'll have to pay postage to return the items to Jameco. Either way, I'm out money because it took them three weeks to realize they owed me a refund.

What's ironic is that at least three Jameco employees, over the course of a few hours spread between them, managed to save the company less than $5, losing me as a customer in the process. That's a textbook definition of "cutting off your nose to spite your face."

Is this really the kind of company you'd trust your money to?

We have been a customer of Jameco for over 15 years. Always a pleasure to do business there. Good products at fair prices with great service. We will continue to do buy goods from them.

I run a Science and Technology Summer school at the University of California Davis. One of our classes needed optical link kits ASAP when another company told us that their supply was on back-order. Jameco was able to produce the quantity of the supplies we needed extremely quickly. They were very helpful, going so far as to call and follow up regarding any ambiguities in the order. We will definitely use them in the future!

As a purchasing agent for an Engineering firm, I have used Jameco for over 3 years. Not once have they missed an item or shipping date. The people working there are wonderful to work with, they are always friendly and willing to help. I have to say this is one of my favorite vendors - and I do have hundreds!

Placed an order on line for a RJ45 Crimping Tool yesterday for pick up at the Belmont CA location. It was the last one in stock and I wanted to ensure it was available when I arrived. After the two women at the Will Call Desk brought out the tool I said I would like to add some Cat5 wire and RJ45 connectors. They directed me to the computer on the counter that is set up for catalog searches. After a few failed attempts to locate the items I requested some assistance. The items are very common and this should be a quick transaction. Well a gentleman came out and rather than help with my request proceeded to give me a tutorial on the computer catalog again just like the two women? He did add one bit of incorrect information, when he browsed Cat5 network cable he came across Cat5e I asked if the e stood for exterior as I was looking for a cable rated for exterior use, He said Yes.... Wow, really??? Needless to say I did not purchase the crimping tool or any of the other items I needed. Left the store in disgust and had to make my purchase at the Home Depot. When Home Depot puts your company to shame it's time to close your doors. I don't get it, I just wanted to purchase a better quality tool, cable and connectors than Home Depot offers. I've been to this location in the past and they were very helpful, suggesting options for items that were not in my field of expertise. Very disappointing and I will never go back.

I placed an order and then received a phone call the following day asking how I was going to pay for the order. I informed them that I paid on your website with my Credit Card. I was informed that the card didn't take and that CSR could take the information. I just canceled my order.. I didn't feel comfortable about them not getting my numbers.

I have been purchasing electronic parts from Jameco several times a year for 2-3 years.
I continue buying from them because both their website and printed catalog are much easier to find parts than are other electronic part suppliers.
Although they are not as big as some of the other suppliers they seem to have IN STOCK the items I order each time. Additionally, they warehouse 90-95% of what I am looking for. They ship the same day an order is placed (providing you place your order by 3:00 PM Pacific Time.) Their shipping rates are very competitive and I have never received any damaged parts.
If you do have a problem with a shipment, call them on the phone. They have always resolved any problem to my satisfaction.

Don't dismiss the words(IN STOCK.) What good is a part number or product number if your present supplier is temporarily out of stock. When you need a part, you need it now!

I first bought stuff from Jameco in 1980. My most recent two orders were (1) for cables and (2) for ICs. Both orders were handled flawlessly. This has always been the case over the 20 years that I've dealt with them.

I ordered the cables because I did not want to pay $20 for a 12 foot USB cable. Jameco had it for $6. Now, shipping costs make the deal a bit less sweet, so I figured I ought to think hard and add in more stuff that I need or might soon need ... their shipping costs rise only a tiny bit with additional ordered items. Very honest.

So I added a 2-way video/keyboard switch, only $10. That's less than what I was about to pay on an eBay auction ... and with Jameco I don't have to worry about the reputation of some unknown eBay seller. Also, I threw in a 50 foot CAT-5 network cable. I'd paid $22 for one at a retailer two years ago. But Jameco had it for $10.

I think I posted comments about Jameco before, but now I see that this site has been revamped, and now there are only a few comments about Jameco. My older comment(s) are not here. So I thought I'd redo my commentary.

I cannot recommend these guys too highly. Always honest. Always easy to deal with. Never ever ever have I had a problem with them.

They have a complete catalog that they send with your order, for easy offline browsing. So it's easy to find what you want. Their on-line ordering seems to exactly match their catalog.

All in all, totally excellent.

I had placed on order on Jameco's website, and within three days, receieved a USPS box. Inside, all I found was the free catalogue and my order invoice. No parts, no nothing, just the free catalogue that I had asked for in the comments. Very very disappointing first order with this company.

I am a retired electrical engineer who likes to tinker with electronic circuits. when I am ready to start a new project - I select my parts from my trusty Jameco catalog. They are super convenient to order from and ship quickly. They have a large inventory of commonly available parts.

Jameco advertises same day shipping on orders placed before 6 PM. As I placed my first order at 5 PM for quite a few different items I was certain they would not be able to keep that promise. Shortly after placing my order I received an email confirmation and about an hour after that I was emailed a shipping notification and tracking number. The parts arrived well packaged, clearly marked, and in perfect condition.

I’ve paid less for parts at other places but had to wait weeks or longer to get them. With Jameco I get accurate stock levels and specifications which is extremely helpful. It is nice to know that when I order something I will get what I expect, when I expect it. I highly recommend them.
