Laithwaites The Best Home Wine Delivery

Now my delivery date is estimated to be delivered June 8th-June 12th. My order was placed March 23rd. Ridiculous.

I ordered my case on April 11. The estimated delivery was between April 23 and April 27. After this they changed it to May 4th to May 7th. The wines are not even shipped which usually takes 3 days from when you order. Have emailed them several times and poor responses. Still waiting for my wine case.

I was told that a shipment of wine I ordered would be delivered on April 16. On that day, I receive an e-mail from FedEx saying that the shipment was damaged and was being returned to the shipper. Since then, I have heard nothing. There has been no response to several e-mails, telephone calls end up on endless hold, and the website is useless.

I have been a member of Laithewaite's wine club for more than 5 years. I find the wines to be a generally good value. When I accept the seasonal shipments, I am exposed to wines I might not have chosen myself and along the way find new favorite wines and grape mixtures. If I absolutely hate something, my money will be refunded. As I "favorite" wines, my preferences are considered and special offers curated to my tastes. Customer service has been very good.

We have been members of Laithwaites since 2007 (it was Four Seasons Wine back then), and have been consistently happy with the selections, quality, service, and price. We have also appreciated the information on each wine that arrives with our quarterly cases. We have been introduced to many wines we wouldn't have otherwise tried - and have learned a lot about geography, too.

I am now into my 5th month of receiving a bill from them knowing that I don't owe anything and calling and being told by THEM that I don't owe anything. Each time they say "ignore it, we will take care of it and you won't receive another bill." But each bill the langue in the bill gets stronger. This month says that if I don't pay it they will be forced to "take drastic measures." So I called...again. After being on hold for almost an hour I got to the same supervisor, Raven, who said she would fix it the last time. She still had no real solution other than "trust me, I know that we have told you for 5 months that we will fix it...but this time we will really fix it." STAY AWAY!!!!

I have been a customer about a year. The wine sent to me has been good so far, though I don't drink is as fast as they send it. A case is sent UPS quarterly, plus they call you to try to sell you another case several times a year. Since it contains alcohol, the case has to be signed for when delivered. If nobody is home, I have to arrange to pick it up at their freight center. To avoid building too big an inventory, a call to their number will allow you to skip the next case. There is a web site that allows you to tailor your choices. I really have not used that feature much. Some bottles have screw caps and some corks. The wines come from California, Italy, Spain, France, Portugal, Argentina, Australia, New Zealand. I don't recall getting any German wines, or any from Chile, in the shipments. The wine tends to range in price around $12-$14 a bottle. Maybe German wines don't fit that price point.
