Great tour of North Korea (Nov 2019). The tour was very well organised and kept to the itinerary provided. Hotel was decent as was the food included. Would highly recommend Lupine Travel.

As an independent traveler for a few decades, I wasn't sure what to expect being part of an organised tour, which is what you have to be in order to visit and spend time in the DPRK. Lupine Travel stood out as the choice in terms of cost value and what they offered, and without question they delivered, in all aspects of a positive experience. If what I received in great service and an unforgettable week is what being part of a tour group means, then bring it on again. The overall price was realistic, and great value for what we covered in the DPRK, and our guides and tour leader were nothing short of excellent, at all times. If you are even just thinking about a tour with Lupine Travel, just do it. You will not be disappointed if what I got from them is the level of customer care and attention, and put the DPRK at the top of your list!

My wife and I spent several days travelling through North Korea. It was arranged as a tailor-made trip by Lupine Travel.

Lupine's planning for the trip was superb. Every detail of the trip was meticulously planned and executed. James Finnerty of Lupine did a wonderful job in making this possible.

The journey through North Korea was absolutely fabulous. It completely changed my perception of the country for the better. I believe more people from the UK should go there with an open mind and judge for themselves.

The North Korean guides were immensely helpful, courteous and hospitable. Thanks again to Lupine for making this so memorable.

Such a great tour, we were kept updated every step of the way, from first booking, to joining the tour and at every point during the two days.
Our tour guide was really knowledgable and although the tour is quite fast paced we had plenty of time for photos and to ask any questions.
We will definitely book a trip with Lupine again, and definitely recommend travelling with them.

I have done four tours with Lupine (5 Stans, Bhutan/Bangladesh, Burundi/Rwanda/DRC and Kurdistan). They have all been excellent. The prices are the best around, and Lupine’s staff are very helpful and friendly.

This trip was great, a bit edgy at times but nonetheless I had a good time, the hotel was great and the food totally delicious everywhere we went, our tour guide and driver were awesome and the hotel staff were so helpful and friendly, definitely take in duty free booze ( its allowed) because it's nigh on impossible to get and horrendously expensive, be ready for the airport because there are lots of searches.

I have done many tours with Lupine in the last 3 years (incl 2 West Africa tours covering 9 countries, Chad, Sudan, Ethiopia /Somaliland/ Danakil Depression, DPRK) with Dylan and other fantastic leaders. Having visited 165 countries over 7 continents and taken many group tours, I really like Lupine's style and affordable prices plus intrepid fellow travelers. Dylan, Sarnor and team provide excellent customer service & commuinication throughout the entire process starting with pre-tour info. They are very accomodating and reasonable. I highly recommend Lupine for adventure travellers (not "tourists")!

I have traveled with Lupine on several tours now to off the beaten path places- Libya, Afghanistan, Eritrea and ‘5 Stans’. I have 3 more on the books and I am eyeing some others.

Lupine does a great job organizing efficient, budget minded trips to see the highlights.

The trips usually have like- minded travelers on them so I’ve made some wonderful friends on the trips despite traveling mostly solo.

They also provide honest, personalized service, which is refreshing in this industry. So for example they worked with the local tour people in Eritrea to get my visa issued at the last minute.

I’m closing in on finishing my 193 countries and I don’t think I could have gotten this close with out Lupine!!!!

We have just returned from a 7 day trip in the DPRK with Lupine Travel. The experience and expertise of the tour leader James was invaluable in negotiating us through the expected and the unexpected. Our itinerary had to be amended at very short notice due to a typhoon on the day after our arrival and James and our local guides worked very hard to ensure interesting alternatives, including an excellent display at a taekwondo school. We were kept well informed throughout and were most grateful for the logistical input involved in getting in and out of the country, entry to the Mass Games, Kumsusan Palace of the Sun etc. We were pleasantly surprised by the standard of hotel accommodation and the food at the well chosen restaurants. Our road transport was efficient and spacious and as comfortable as the roads allowed! Lupine have a very good relationship with the local Ministry of Tourism guides, clearly an ingredient whose importance should not be underestimated. An unforgettable trip and very good value for money.

I am portuguese, did 2 Lupine tours, one in 2019 to Burundi, Rwanda and Congo Democratic Republic and the 2nd to Chad in the current month of February. I like their destinations, their organisation, their guides and they have affordable prices. We can even choose to make only parts of the tour that we are interested and not be obliged to do the whole tour.
I hope they contimue to innovate in new destinations.

I went to Iraq with Lupine in October 2019, and they were absolutely fantastic. Despite the issues with Turkey and Syria that were ongoing through our trip, we didn't ever feel any danger or risk. The tour was extremely well organised, interesting - and above all, fun. Both the local and Lupine tour guides were informative and interesting and ensured that the trip ran as smoothly as possible. I will definitely be booking with Lupine again. Thank you for such a wonderful experience!

North Korean Sept 5th 2019, 5day tour.
We're a couple of well seasoned Ausies who travel independently together, from the outset our questions were answered promptly and efficiently from the Lupine team, in particular James thus reducing any stress and anxiety when considering this type of destination and our first time with Lupine.
I would use Lupine Travel company again and I have no hesitation in recommending them.
If you are from the Sun Burnt Country I'd give them a go as thier price point is very competitive, " you get a big bang for your buck".

The Sept/Oct 5 stars tour with Lupine was a great adventure. It was very well organised and our tour leader was excellent - always cheerful, friendly and helpful. The hotels were good, much better than I had anticipated for such a good value tour. We saw lots of marvellous things and stunning scenery, but there was a lot of driving on roads of very varying standards! Overall a terrific experience - highly recommended.

I have just returned from a superb trip to Moldova and Transnistria with Lupine and have nothing but praise for them. The highlight of the trip was the Independence Day parade and celebrations in Tiraspol, a completely unique event! This was my third trip with Lupine and I have already booked another for next year. The tours always attract an interesting group of people, take you to fascinating places and are very good value.

We travelled to North Korea with Lupine Travel at the end of July to coincide with the Victory day celebrations. This was our first trip with Lupine and I was very impressed with the thorough organisation and professionalism of their team. On our return journey, we decided at the last minute that we would prefer not to take the night train from Dandong to Beijing. The alternative was to stay an extra night in Dandong and take the high speed bullet train the following day. Lupine's local representative Brooklyn went out of his way to facilitate our hotel booking and the exchange of our rail tickets.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time in North Korea and learned so much about this strange country. We were quite a large group - 23 people from England, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Canada, Germany and France; everybody got on well with each other and this made the trip even more enjoyable. The Mass Games was absolutely amazing, with one hundred thousand performers at the largest sports stadium in the world. The visit to the mausoleum where the bodies of the first two North Korean leaders lie in state was an incredibe experience. To be honest, every moment in the country was filled with interest. I would have no hesitation in booking with Lupine again in the future and I am already looking through their wide range of unusual destinations to plan my next trip.

Took the Turkmenistan trip with my daughter who was 12 at the time. Wasn’t sure I’d like the whole group travel as I’ve never tried that before, but I was pleasantly surprised. Did a lot of cool things and it was so nice having them take care of all the planning along the way. I would highly recommend and I will travel with them again.

I made a one week trip this fall with Lupine Travel in Sudan. The tour was very well organized (before it even started) and the guides were very attentive to us. Additionally, the price offered by Lupine is very competitive! Definitely recommend travelling with them
