My New Caledonia

The booking staff were really friendly and efficient and we enjoyed a fantastic holiday in New Caledonia and Sydney.

We dealt with Ben Christensen from MyNewCaledonia and he was fantastic! He went above and beyond, even advising the resort that we were celebrating our wedding anniversary during our stay! We received some amazing personalised french pastries and champagne to help us celebrate :-)
Ben was always prompt and helpful with my questions and he was truly dedicated to making sure we enjoyed our time away. Everything about our holiday was great, I would not hesitate in recommending MyNewCaledonia to all of my friends and family - AND HAVE!!!

This is the second year in a row we have used the myholiday group and the staff have been extremely helpful and friendly a pleasure to deal with. Definitely recommend them to friends and family and use their services again in the future.

Sarah was very helpful as well as being very pleasant, could not fault her attention to detail and effort to pull everything together.

Quick and easy to book, 2 small negatives:
1. Need for such a substantial deposit well in advance of the trip
2. Credit card surcharges

We travelled as a couple and stayed at the Le Meredian in Noumea with a booking made with My New Caledonia. We received good service with the booking and the follow through when we got to Noumea i.e. tours, hotel credits and other extras that were included were received without any problems. The hotel lived up to its name and was in a nice location close to tourist expectations.

We would recommend the company to prospective travellers to the area looking for a nice and trouble free experience.

I found it hard to get responses via email and when you ring you get different people
I had to chase them about making a final payment, no email, the girl we had been using hard gone to another department so no follow up at all
When I. Noumea we had issues with our two parties, being booked on different flights and no transfers were arranged as paid for
I rang Australia was on hold for ages got through to be told once you're there you deal with the transfer company, who speak French and I don't
We were left high and dry
There were multiple issues with our itinerary and transfers for both couples who attended
So lucky the hotel staff were so helpful to interpret and makes multiple calls for us
While the deal was great cost wise, that is all you get, no support no help no follow up

Unfortunately our fight was cancelled due to Cyclone Cook and because of time contraints associated with the school holidays this put a real spanner in the works for us. Kylie was absolutely fantastic at rescheduling everything for us to a later date and I can't praise her enough for her efforts.

It took four quotes over several weeks and a discussion with a supervisor before I was prepared to go ahead with my booking .I paid in full and received no receipt of my payment at all.I received my paperwork 48 hours before the plane took off.As I had not dealt with the company before I found this less than satisfactory.At one stage we really felt that the whole process was a scam and that we were the victims!Part of going on holiday is the fun of planning it and this was not fun at all.In the end the holiday went really well and everything went like clockwork so They got it right in the end.

Can't get hold of my consultant Louise. I have sent several requests via text and email for information and for her to call me but get no reply. Sent a general email to the office and again no reply.

The packages they offer are great - we have booked 4 times - twice to New Calendonia, once to Fiji and 4 years ago to Palm Cove. This year I found the service to be nowhere near as good as in the past. Every time I called to amend something during the booking process I got a different person who said they would amend something and then I would receive the quote again without any changes - this happened 3 times before I finally got someone to do the amendment. While we were in New Calendonia there was a strike at the domestic airport which MyNewCalendonia was aware of but they didn't contact us to let us know. We would have stayed at the Sheraton Diva for another night if we had known, instead we were stuck in a line at the airport for 4 hours during which time I was speaking to Debbie from MyNewCaledonia on the phone who was very unhelpful and condescending (all this time I was paying hefty international phone call fees). I asked if she could get us into the Meridian in Noumea for the night seeing as we were supposed to be staying at the Meridian Ile des Pins and she instead tried to get us into Chateaux Royale - luckily they couldn't take us and then she finally tried the Meridian and told us we would have to claim it on travel insurance. In actual fact the Meridian Noumea didn't charge us anything because we had already paid for the Meridian Ile des Pins - which I had assumed would be the case from the start. Debbie should have known this also. Debbie also said she had organised our transfers from Noumea hotel to the airport and then from the airport to Noumea hotel for our changed flights and neither of these transfers showed up so we had to take a taxi. This was very stressful on the way to the airport as we ended up getting there late - we were lucky to get on the flight. When we finally got to the Ile des Pins a day late we were upgraded to a beach room which was fantastic - it really made our stay after the strike debarkle. However, I was very surprised to be able to get a beach room as this is what I had been calling to book/amend during the booking process and I was eventually told after the 3 tries that Meridian Ile des Pins does not allow families with children to be in the beach rooms, so I could only book a garden room. Clearly this is not the case. When I called MyNewCaledonia to ensure our transfer to the international airport to go home was actually booked for 5am (I wanted to be sure as the past 2 transfers hadn't shown up - again this was at a high phone call cost) I got a very nice girl who confirmed the transfer to get home, but also looked up the reason the other 2 didn't show and she said they had never actually been confirmed at all by Debbie. Overall, I was quite disappointed that a company I have always had a great experience with and who offers such great packages has gone downhill so quickly, I don't know if it's because they are getting too big, but in future I will
probably look to other companies or independent travel agents.

We would definitely use this service again,everything rang smoothly and we where very happy with the friendly staff and they answered all our questions without any hesitation.The emails flowed backwards and forward between us to get the booking just right and how we wanted to customise our holiday.Can't wait to book our next holiday through them,the only negative is that I had to wait on the line for a long time when I called and initially I left a call back message on a monday after we saw our deal in a sunday paper and no-one rang us back at all.But the end result was fantastic.

They could not access the 7 day package for a few days and I had to ring back several times with long waiting times on the phone.There were misunderstandings at Nouvata hotel regarding inclusions and this created some unfortunate dealings,such as the bottle of wine, the 15 %discount at the restaurant and the two for one lunch at Escapede island.

I can't speak more highly of My New Caledonia - the telephone booking was seamless, with all queries attended to promptly.
I have visited New Caledonia three times over recent years and always through My New Caledonia. I continually recommend My Holidays to all those who are considering holidays.
