I went back and forth with the customer rep for 5 emails, and they refused to acknowledge the issue or give me the quoted price. Would never ever use them again.
The problem was, and thats my gripe with Nextworth, they sent the phone naked in a tiny bubble envelop, without the original box I shipped it in. So i lost the original iPhone package, including manual and wipe cloth etc. Those may be minor things but I think they should have returned what I sent them.
I sent more emails asking why they threw away my original packaging and manual, no response (its been another 2 weeks). And they have no customer phone number you can call.
They gave me a quote of $118, so I sent them the phone, which was in perfect working condition - I had been using it until two weeks before when I decided I wanted the larger iPhone 6 Plus. A few days later, they sent an email telling me the iPhone "has been reduced to $70.80" because it wasn't fully functional.
I replied that I wanted to know exactly what was wrong with the phone because it was fully functional when I sent it to them. Here is their response: “The inspector noted that there is a problem with the touch screen, their note was that it freezes during use. The most that I can offer you is $93.00, if this is acceptable please let me know.”
I think that tells you something right there: why didn't they reduce the price to $93.00 instead of $70.80 in the first place?
At any rate, the offer wasn't acceptable, I didn't believe their assessment, and I asked them to return the iPhone, which they did. I turned on the phone and set it up again and, as I suspected, it's been working perfectly.
So draw your own conclusions, but think twice before trusting your device to Nextworth.
NextWorth in short is a Fraudulent company who are prone to Cheating Customers/
Having never received a similar inspection report for the Galaxy S3, I inquired with Nextworth via email. In their response, the indicated that the item was received and inspected on August 29, 2014; with no further comment or details. Having received an email that a gift card for the iPad was shipped, I expected to receive a similar email that a gift card for the Galaxy S3 was shipped.
Originally, Nextworth indicated that the Galaxy S3 was damaged and had a reduced trade-in value of 29cents. I shared my concern with them; and a customer service manager inquired into my case stating, "Your case was brought to my attention so i contacted my warehouse manager to follow up and review your Samsung phone. After a second inspection a small crack was found in the casing but other factors such as cracked screen and water damage were imputed incorrectly by the inspector. I apologize you received contrary information from one of our representatives but as i am sure you can understand they have to follow what our inspectors tell them about the item. I have arranged for your additional gift card in the amount of $70 to be sent out to you shortly".
I have mixed sentiment on Nextworth. Their handling of the iPad was excellent with timely communication. Their handling of the Galaxy S3 was challenged, but ultimately resulted in an accurate manner.
NextWorth is only worth it if you enjoy psodemy as well.
I had requested a return of my iPhone after they renegued on an offer of a quoted cash back of $276, offering me less than 50% ($115). I answered truthfully a series of questions before I got the original $276 quote and they subsequently offered the $115 based on a claim that the iPhone I sent in has a condition of "heavy wear". This was not an option for reporting and I can only infer that they seek to get people to send in their iPhones (after being quoted an attractive price) in order to have customers settle for the drastically reduced cash offer. I would not settle, asked for my original iPhone back, received it 10 days later, and received the wrong phone. I knew it was the wrong phone because all my apps, contact information, photos, etc., wouldn't fit in the iPhone. However, I confirmed with myself that this was not my iPhone because I made the trouble of going to an Apple Store, standing in line and getting a copy of my iPhone receipt (which I have in my possession) which has the serial number on it. Infuriatingly they promised to return my call, never did, and after reaching them and informing them that I have a copy of the receipt to mail them as proof of my purchase they stated there was nothing that could be done and refused to send back my iPhone! (It is now two weeks without my iPhone -- I had to purchase a Skype phone number to stay in contact with friends and family). And, I lost out on an opprtunity to submit my phone with another tarde-in program. I remained intent on getting my iPhone back and they offered to do that only under the condition that I deposit $276 (the amount they renegued on!) into their PayPal account! This they claimed was so that they can ensure receiving the "bad" iPhone back and they can in turn send me my original iPhone!!
I was told that if they handed out checks to people who said they shipped packages out without an origin scan, they would “go out of business”. I then asked how many cases like this have come up, and he said “Once or twice”. He then told me the other customers were shit out of luck as well. It sure sounds to me like they could have made a special case for myself and the other 1 or 2 people who have brought this up. Pretty sure they wouldn’t go out of business from this fine act of customer service that would actually provide them MORE business because of the goodwill. But this company is clearly NOT a forward thinking company that cares about their customers. I have been telling friends to resell their phones through this company because it was a good concept, and I had a successful trade-in with them in the past. If this is how they decide to treat me, I will always continue to speak negatively of NextWorth. I even informed them that I was probably going to do so, and the manager (James) again states that he can’t do anything. He is effectively saying that I don’t matter to them, and neither do the rest of you. I asked if I could speak to someone else, and he wouldn’t send me over to anyone else.
Hell, after the first customer service rep said she can’t do anything more, she ended her e-mail with “Thank you for your patience, we apologize for the inconvenience.” Yes I have been very patient and did not raise my voice at all throughout this, but I will not accept this generic and meaningless apology for an “inconvenience” which is leaving me out of $300 which I need.
So please spread the word, and help me boycott NextWorth and their primitive “customer service.” I’m utilizing the influence of social media and I believe in the power of every individual’s voice to help rectify unfair situations.
UPDATE: After review NextWorth found no damages and reverted to original offer.
They offered my 35$ less than what they originally quoted. This site is an absolute scam, I suggest you take the 350$ gift card that a store will give you, or sell it on eBay for a ridiculous amount. DONT use NextWorth, they will make up false statements about your phone to try and short change you.
I will never do business with this company again. If you do, you should make a record of the model number, serial number and take some pictures of your unit before sending your unit in to protect youself against fraud by this vendor.
