I ordered a couple items on the seventh of june, they emailed me back a on the ninth saying it would be 7-10 days before the item shipped as it was not in stock. I said this would be fine, please ship the order together. So here it is the 29th. I had not received ANY email from them, and I emailed inquiring about the item. I received a badly formatted form email response saying it could be 7-10 days. When I asked if they were willing to waive my shipping as they were already ten days late on their initial promise I was responded to in a curt fashion and told basically, "no." I would not do business with these people as it appears from other reviews it is common for them not to stock items they list on their website, but instead to order them as needed. BUYER BEWARE: Unless you're willing to wait a long time to get your products, avoid these people.

I found this site attempting to locate a particular item to purchase as a Christmas present. The site was difficult to navigate, but I finally found the item. The site gave no information pertaining to the availability of any items, which would turn out to be important later.

The next day (Dec 15th) I received an email stating that the product was out of stock until January, and if I would like to switch to a less expensive smaller version of the same thing (puzzle caddy). I replied (that day) that I would take the smaller item, figuring that this meant that the smaller caddy would actually be in stock and that I would receive the item soon. In reply to this all I got was "We have forwarded your request".

I then received no reply until I emailed them twice (waiting a couple days in between) on January 6th (long after the time that I needed the item), at which point they told me they would be getting in some of both types of the item I wanted "today", and that "It will be well worth the wait" (which seemed a very rude response in my opinion, especially since the event I had ordered it for had already past). I was obviously very annoyed but I figured I would go ahead and get the large caddy since they would be getting it in at the same time as the other anyway. I got no response to my email asking to switch back to the large size.

I finally recieved an email saying the product was shipped on the 12th of January, and the item arrived the 17th (over a MONTH after I'd ordered the item and a 3 weeks after I needed it). I really wonder now why they'd offer the smaller one if it wouldn't be available till the same time as the larger one? They could have just said that neither would be available instead of making me think I might actually get it within a decent amount of time. They also offered no apology or anything for the long wait. I certainly won't come to this site again and will recommend others to stay away (which is why I'm posting this review, as a warning).

I've been buying model railroading supplies from this store and through their catalog and from their website for years. They have a lot of scale miniatures and modeling supplies that no one else carries. My wife also built a dollhouse and now does room boxes as gifts for friends and relatives, and she gets all her dollhouse supplies from them also, because they seem to have more than other stores. I've always get great service from them, and I especially like how the go out of their way to find things for our projects, when no other company seems to care. My wife and I love to shop at their store to when we are passing through. It is the largest toy and hobby store we've ever been in. Everyone is friendly and helpful. It makes us feel like kids again when we are in there, like Babes in Toyland. We will always buy from Oakridge Hobbies and Toys. Totally happy campers!

Well I am still waiting for the rest of my order that I placed on Dec. 21st. Received a AFX Track the next day and was so happyday

BUT..... The HO scale cars I ordered have yet to come and I called several times only to be placed on hold and then after a recording disconnected. No responce to now 2 emails. I am waiting, and so is my nephew for his Christmas Present :-(

I ordered a toy for my son for Christmas Dec 11 with nothing indicating it was not in stock. On Dec 17, I received an email stating it had "just sold out." They blamed the manufacturer for not filling their order completely.
Before ordering, I glanced at an identical complaint on this site from last Christmas and did not heed the warning. I really wish I would have.

Ordered an item online, took over a month to receive, no communication, charged me for Priority Shipping and finally sent it First Class. Thief.

I placed an order on March 7th, 2007 for a Playmobil Police Station. After an initial order confirmation E-mail, I received no further information such as a shipment notice.

I called on March 15, 2007 to ask whether the order had shipped. I was told it had not shipped and may not ship for another week. I immediately cancelled the order as this was a birthday present and the date would be missed.

I was never given any indication the item was not in stock and would not ship in a reasonable time frame. A call to the customer service number on their web page only took me to a voicemail box. I had to call the 800# order line to talk to a person.

this is my first time shopping here and ive very pleased with the selection that they have and i will definitely purchased again in the future

I placed an order on March 31, 2018, and paid the ridiculous shipping rate of $7.15 for an item costing $7.99 because I needed the item sooner than I'd be able to shop for it locally (disabled). Even though the order was confirmed via email at 4am on the 31st, a shipping label was not created until 3:19pm the following Friday, April 6th!! The package did not get picked up from USPS until Saturday at 3pm! An entire WEEK to mail an envelope?! After sitting on the order for a week, the least that could have been done is to drop it at the Post Office! For $7.15 shipping I was expecting a USPS priority mail flat rate box, not a padded envelope costing $3.75 to ship (verified rate on USPS.com)! 90% of my shopping is online, and I will never again purchase from this company!

After about week from ordering I received my order out of 42 items I only received 37. The reason being 3 items had been cancelled because they were on back order and 2 items we not included in the order because they forgot to include them. First of all I was never notified of the cancelled items until i received my order and after I had called them about the missing items which were 5 total. After speaking they told me they would ship the missing items to me. A day later still no confirmation email on the missing items and no refund for the cancelled items. I call them back and the person I spoke with says she will process my refund and send me the missing items. (The exact same thing the previous customer service representative said she would do).. A day later still no refund or confirmation email. So I contact Paypal and open up a case. They respond telling me they would just send me a refund for all my missing items and not ship anything out to me... First of all, they should have shipped my missing items to me 2 days ago when I called them. 3 days later they tell me they still haven't shipped anything out, AND still no refund for my cancelled items. They should have sent me the refund for the cancelled items the day they sent out my shipment, when they weren't included!

I placed an order with this store on Dec 12th and the item didn't ship in time for Christmas. On Dec 23rd I wrote them saying that they should cancel the order because not only did they not ship the item after two weeks but they didn't contact me to tell me that the item was on its way or out of stock. No reply. Then on Dec 28th they wrote me saying they shipped the item. I didn't want it anymore and I have a record of the email saying so. So I wrote again telling them I will dispute the charges and finally they replied saying okay we cancelled the order but we are charging you 15%. When I asked why they didn't answer. How can you charge me a restocking fee when I cancelled the order before it shipped? This company is disgusting.
