Just received my fourth purchase from Powermax, and as usual- I'm delighted. Good price for the computer, free shipping, prompt delivery. I could go on, but you get the idea. Can't convey how helpful Michelle, and the rest of the crew are to a 90 year old computer novice.
Additionally there was free shipping offered too.
I called PowerMax and spoke with a Ms Michelle Ryther about buying this tripod. She checked inventory and found that the tripod was on back order from the distributor for 2 to 3 weeks.
Michelle asked me if I wanted to place the order and wait for it to ship.
I said yes because of the low price.
As time went by Michelle kept me up to date on the progress of the order.
I began to realize that price was becoming secondary and customer service was beginning to enter the picture.
So far my credit card had not been charged just as Michelle had told me it would not be until the tripod shipped.
Well, today I get an email from Michelle telling me the tripod was on it's way to Texas! That is 3 weeks and a couple of days since my first phone call to PowerMax. I have to say they hit the shipping date square on target.
Michelle has provided customer service that I have not seen in years, if at all.
Today, although I appreciate the low price, much more important is the customer service PowerMax provided.
I told Michelle that her boss should give her a raise, and I am serious!
So boss, if you are reading this, and I hope you are...... GIVE THAT GAL THE RAISE SHE DESERVES!
She has provided unmatched customer service with my order.
So I suggest to any of you out there who may need an item soon to call PowerMax and ask to speak with Michelle Ryther.
You will be pleasantly surprised!
This was my first purchase with PowerMax and I put them on the same level of customer service as Crutchfield. And believe me that is saying something!

I also twice talked on the phone and the service and information was accurate, honest, and helpful.
Then it did take a few weeks to get my order to me because of the supple and demand (iPad2s are very popular).
I had a great experience with them and will use again.
I traded one iMac, and one MacBook Air so I have dealt with them from both sides, as a trader and a buyer. I highly recommend PowerMax for all your Mac purchases. Their customer service, trade process, and communication through the whole buying/trade process makes for an excellent experience.
PowerMax only acknowledged the delay of the orders after I called them up, on November 5. A representative assured me that the products would arrive in the upcoming week. He lied.
And to make it all worse, I needed the watch straps for a birthday gift, which by now, is embarrassingly late.
I still have no idea when the products I ordered will be arriving. PowerMax should not be selling items that they do NOT have in stock and then making the customer wait a month or more. PowerMax is an irresponsible retailer. They don't even notify you of delays until you contact them to complain. They don't even offer any compensation for their mistakes.
Terribly irresponsible retailer; buy your products elsewhere.
My latest purchase of a 13" MacBook Air is just the same as all others in the past. Impeccable service, swift delivery, and a great product. A powerful combination.
I'd let my mother-in-law shop there. That's my highest praise.
They offered a great trade-in program by mail and a more than fair amount for my existing laptop against something they sold.
The very helpful person that contacted me was the same person that answered all of my questions. Sometimes even on a weekend. And eventually that same person that handled the transaction when I found the system that I wanted to purchase.
This is a great company and an even better online concept.. Something you might like to find on the local corner, might not have the option or means but have internet access.
I can’t honestly recommend many online merchants as most of them are too automated or not attentive to customer needs or desires. Most online outlets are totally focused on selling merchandise for the cheapest price possible because that’s all they can offer. You can’t really ask Amazon what they think about the new 13” Mac Book Air solid state as opposed to the hard drive model. You can only hope that some consumer sentiment provides you with the information you are looking for, and yeah, and we know how that usually works. That’s where these folks have an edge.
I have had a great experience so far with the folks at Powermax in Portland and look forward to going back for other nifty Apple stuff.
Their very candid, yet professional, approach to sales made my experience great. I felt like I had a knowledgeable representative looking after my best interest. I've received my MacBook Pro and it's working like a champ. I'm been extremely satisfied with my experience and will definitely order from Powermax again.
I simply cannot say enough good things about PowerMax, their staff, and the products offered. I would go back to them in a heartbeat for any Apple related purchase. Not paying sales tax isn't all bad either along with free shipping when the order is over a certain dollar amount.

For those who may wonder, I ASKED PowerMax if I could write this review. There was never a hint of them asking me to do it.
I'll be buying my new iPad2 from them Friday.
