I've ordered two computers from PowerMax within the last year, both used Mac laptops. The experience has been excellent. Maiya Kennedy, my product rep, and Dennis in tech support, have both given exceptional service, and have went out of their way to be helpful to a new switcher to the Mac. I would recommend PowerMax to anyone looking for excellent sales & service. Fact of the matter, I already have!

Another totally "gruntled" customer for the Oregon vendor of gently used Apple products, and other stuff.
Just received my fourth purchase from Powermax, and as usual- I'm delighted. Good price for the computer, free shipping, prompt delivery. I could go on, but you get the idea. Can't convey how helpful Michelle, and the rest of the crew are to a 90 year old computer novice.

A few months ago a friend of mine told me about PowerMax and how she traded in an old mac for a new one. I filled out their online form, curious about how much my 4 year old iMac would be worth, and was shocked at the amount: more than twice what other vendors had offered me. My sales rep Mark was fantastic in helping me with my trade in, and my emails were always returned within a few hours. I received my brand new iMac quickly, with my choice of keyboard and a stuffed monkey. I can't recommend them enough!

On July 29 I came across PowerMax, who had the lowest price I have found for a Gitzo GT3541LS tripod.
Additionally there was free shipping offered too.
I called PowerMax and spoke with a Ms Michelle Ryther about buying this tripod. She checked inventory and found that the tripod was on back order from the distributor for 2 to 3 weeks.
Michelle asked me if I wanted to place the order and wait for it to ship.
I said yes because of the low price.
As time went by Michelle kept me up to date on the progress of the order.
I began to realize that price was becoming secondary and customer service was beginning to enter the picture.
So far my credit card had not been charged just as Michelle had told me it would not be until the tripod shipped.

Well, today I get an email from Michelle telling me the tripod was on it's way to Texas! That is 3 weeks and a couple of days since my first phone call to PowerMax. I have to say they hit the shipping date square on target.

Michelle has provided customer service that I have not seen in years, if at all.
Today, although I appreciate the low price, much more important is the customer service PowerMax provided.
I told Michelle that her boss should give her a raise, and I am serious!
So boss, if you are reading this, and I hope you are...... GIVE THAT GAL THE RAISE SHE DESERVES!
She has provided unmatched customer service with my order.
So I suggest to any of you out there who may need an item soon to call PowerMax and ask to speak with Michelle Ryther.
You will be pleasantly surprised!
This was my first purchase with PowerMax and I put them on the same level of customer service as Crutchfield. And believe me that is saying something!

I ordered an Ipod Touch for Christmas and was impressed that an actual human being acknowledged that my order had been processed. The package came extremely quickly in good condition and in plenty of time for the holidays. It was just so refreshing to find a company that still finds customer service a priority. I would highly recommend buying from PowerMax - I'm keeping them listed in my favorites!

I traded in 2 older Mac laptop computers. They were very clear about the rules of trading in and provided me with a pre estimate based on my e-mail information. When they receive the laptops they let me know and again to provide the official trade in value which was the same as pre estimate.

I also twice talked on the phone and the service and information was accurate, honest, and helpful.

Then it did take a few weeks to get my order to me because of the supple and demand (iPad2s are very popular).

I had a great experience with them and will use again.

I just purchased my second MacBook Air from PowerMax. I have also purchased 2 iMacs from them.
I traded one iMac, and one MacBook Air so I have dealt with them from both sides, as a trader and a buyer. I highly recommend PowerMax for all your Mac purchases. Their customer service, trade process, and communication through the whole buying/trade process makes for an excellent experience.

I ordered two watch bands (for the iPod Nano) from them on October 23. The promised shipping speed was 5-10 business days. It is now November 20, 2011, and my products have STILL not arrived.

PowerMax only acknowledged the delay of the orders after I called them up, on November 5. A representative assured me that the products would arrive in the upcoming week. He lied.

And to make it all worse, I needed the watch straps for a birthday gift, which by now, is embarrassingly late.

I still have no idea when the products I ordered will be arriving. PowerMax should not be selling items that they do NOT have in stock and then making the customer wait a month or more. PowerMax is an irresponsible retailer. They don't even notify you of delays until you contact them to complain. They don't even offer any compensation for their mistakes.

Terribly irresponsible retailer; buy your products elsewhere.

Every three or four years I get the urge for a new Apple laptop and pickup the phone and talk to Maiya @ PowerMax. Like an old friend you often don't talk to, we immediately pick up where we last left off.

My latest purchase of a 13" MacBook Air is just the same as all others in the past. Impeccable service, swift delivery, and a great product. A powerful combination.

I'd let my mother-in-law shop there. That's my highest praise.

I ordered a iMac on Dec 8th and received a DOA and a bent foot. I did a hardware scan and it came up with an error. The hardware scan that is on the iMac. It took less then an hour. Why was this not done by Powermax? So I called and spoke to Dennis he did not call back. So I called back and spoke to Michelle she said I would have to pay for shipping and 10% restocking. Why was this not checked on your bench test? Then she said I would have to pay for a second iMac. It would come to $871.31. Then I would get a credit back of the first iMac less 10% and less shipping three times all because Powermax did not do their due diligence. I was told by Michelle she could not take care of this by Christmas. So now my daughter has no Christmas present. I'm sure powermax can afford to buy several extra Christmas presents with the extra 10% they are keeping for purposely sending out DOA and or broken computers.

I bought an Apple Mini from here at a decent price (NEW and a better deal then Apple.com), I had a little trouble with the billing seeing as how my shopping card limit was limited to only $800 so they had an employee contact me and work with me on getting this fixed, they contacted my bank an cleared everything up and actually customized the payment where i got to pay $400 one day and the rest the next day so that it would work with me and i thought that was great and not every company out there would do suck a thing. If i ever by anything like this ever again or even any accessories i'll be sure to come back here and even invite some of my friends/family to do the same. Biggest thanks to an awesome employee of Powermax.com 'Heidi Wheeler [email protected]' the best person i've ever worked with over the phone. if it wasn't for her patience and kindness I probably would have went else where for my buy so thank you so much. I bought a used and certified Mac Pro recently. The customer service was fast, friendly, and went above-and-beyond what was required. I'm a speech therapist/teacher of the deaf and a Apple Forever user since the Apple IIe! I don't have the resources for a new computer every time; I know exactly where to go for the best deal. I have bought refurbished desktops from Power Max for 10 years and the staff there can't be beat for their patience with my many questions, kindness, care and service!! I currently own my first pre-owned laptop from PowerMax because the staff asked about my specific personal and professional needs in a laptop. Then they gave me a price list of various pre-owned laptops with full descriptions of what each unit could/couldn't do and what software and chips would be pre-installed---so I could make a well-informed final choice! You can even ask for advice/help post-sale with quick Apple system software questions or go to PowerMax's pre-set forums/blogs for answers...which can be very comforting if your computer is past the original Apple Care warranty or you couldn't get to an Apple Store soon enough. Only once in 10 years, did I have to return a PPC desktop that developed a problem during its warranty period, and it was promptly handled and returned to me. If you need a solid, pre-owned computer and buy their extended warranty--it's a trust! I have recommended PowerMax to friends, too. If money is an issue and you need a used computer from a reliable, honest, competent Apple Re-saler/Repair company, use PowerMax! They are like a trusted friend!

I found myself in the market to sell my current laptop and upgrade to a newer one. I was thinking of going the Craiglist way and hoping for the best while clinching the whole time. I don’t even remember how I ran across Powermax but I’m glad I did.
They offered a great trade-in program by mail and a more than fair amount for my existing laptop against something they sold.

The very helpful person that contacted me was the same person that answered all of my questions. Sometimes even on a weekend. And eventually that same person that handled the transaction when I found the system that I wanted to purchase.

This is a great company and an even better online concept.. Something you might like to find on the local corner, might not have the option or means but have internet access.

I can’t honestly recommend many online merchants as most of them are too automated or not attentive to customer needs or desires. Most online outlets are totally focused on selling merchandise for the cheapest price possible because that’s all they can offer. You can’t really ask Amazon what they think about the new 13” Mac Book Air solid state as opposed to the hard drive model. You can only hope that some consumer sentiment provides you with the information you are looking for, and yeah, and we know how that usually works. That’s where these folks have an edge.

I have had a great experience so far with the folks at Powermax in Portland and look forward to going back for other nifty Apple stuff.

I ordered a new MacBook Pro through PowerMax a month ago. A couple days after ordering, their sales associate (Michelle) called me to tell me about a pending update. She said she simply wanted to let me know about the update so I could make an informed decision - either order a model as is, or wait until the update was released, even if it meant delaying their order.

Their very candid, yet professional, approach to sales made my experience great. I felt like I had a knowledgeable representative looking after my best interest. I've received my MacBook Pro and it's working like a champ. I'm been extremely satisfied with my experience and will definitely order from Powermax again.

I just purchased my second MacBookPro in nearly 7 years from PowerMax. We've also purchased an iMac, iPads, iTouch, and several accessories and software from PowerMax. I've always been treated with respect and never felt belittled no matter which question I asked (and some were pretty elementary, I suspect). There was no consideration on my part to even going elsewhere to purchase the most recent laptop. Heidi Wheeler assisted me as though she was reading my mind when I was in the decision making process as to which laptop to purchase. I always know that the support staff is at the end of the phone to assist me as well.
I simply cannot say enough good things about PowerMax, their staff, and the products offered. I would go back to them in a heartbeat for any Apple related purchase. Not paying sales tax isn't all bad either along with free shipping when the order is over a certain dollar amount.
THANK YOU POWERMAX and a special thank you and loads of appreciation to Heidi Wheeler.
For those who may wonder, I ASKED PowerMax if I could write this review. There was never a hint of them asking me to do it.
