I was served by your agent Paul, who was very timely and direct in sorting my situation which was time sensitive! He knew exactly what I needed, and got a quote to me within the hour which covered everything I asked for. I booked the policy in before it would become unavailable at midnight and the online client worked perfectly. A lovely smooth process which stands out from the usual hassle of insurance organisation!

The airline lost my baggage and they sorted me out with temporary ski gear in order to go skiing and not spend my day hanging around the resort waiting for my luggage.

You supplied cover last year so I decided to use you again, I spoke to Raoul first who dealt with me the previous year and he was friendly & helpful with my enquiry, I had to get some medical info for you and when I called back the gentleman I spoke to was a bit more to the point and didn’t really want to engage in conversation
Though it was late in the afternoon so maybe was getting to going home time!
But he did deal with my transaction

I thought that the general level of service was very good. The member of staff that I spoke to was friendly and knowledgable and was able to answer any questions that I had. I did try to use the online 'Chat' function earlier in the purchasing process and although the response was immediate, they were unable to answer specific questions on the policy I was interested in. I'm pretty sure that this could be improved upon in future as I really wanted to buy the cover there and then, not have to call back at a later time to speak to someone else.

I have used skicover twice; both times for an extended (~150 days) worldwide cover for travel in the USA. This winter, I had no call to use the service, however the previous winter I had an injury that resulted in a hospital visit. That was in February 2015. It is now at the time of writing June 22, 2017 and the hospital bills are yet to be resolved. I have been sent to collections, been sent letters of various colours, had my workplace harassed over my billing and my credit score negatively affected.

Further to this, there were distinct problems at almost every organisational level; the brokers (skicover) have multiple levels of service, which the underwriter does not categorise in the same way, meaning if you need to make a claim, you need to first arbitrate between the underwriters and the brokers to establish your level of cover. They tried to prove that I did not have the cover I purchased. Then I had to arbitrate between the brokers, underwriters, the cost containment department and the hospital (which in my case is billing from three departments). I had expected a simpler situation; simply giving the hospital my insurance details and them sorting out the rest. This has not been my experience.

I would estimate that I have sent in the region of 50 emails, spent an entire 8 hour working day on the phone cumulatively, and had significantly more stress about the whole thing than with other insurers. I have used other insurers in the past who were far more efficient. My main reason for using them again is their price and ability to insure those with pre-existing injuries.

If you have the means, I would go with a more expensive insurer who will provide you with better service.

Skicover is the only travel insurer other than BMC who I’ve found to explicitly include recovery from the mountainside in the event of an accident. This saves buying additional cover in resort and os why we come back year after year.

For some reason the documents were not emailed through (not in Junk), but I spoke to someone first thing Monday am and he was very accommodating, gave the comfort needed and sent the necessary email. Many thanks indeed for you excellent service, and luckily no accident on my son's trip!

I was caught up in the recent airport closures in Scotland during the "Beast from the East"

I tried several well known insurers first and after giving all my details discovered they would not insure me because I was over 65 even though I am fitter than a lot of 30 year olds. Others put a massive premium on. I was really impressed to find no such issues with Skicover and what was covered incl rescue off the mountain was clearly spelt out.

I contact Skicover every year to renew my Annual Travel Policy. This cover also includes my Winter Sports insurance at a reasonable cost. Insurance is easy to set up with minimum fuss

The staff are very pleasant and professional and it is a pleasure to do business, they are helpful but not pushy !

Gill was very helpful and we concluded on one policy. However, I was promised an e-mail on specific covered activities and a second insurance quote for my son, but have so far not received either.
