Had a phone conversation with Cameron Pocock today, and he was a verifiable hero in terms of the guidance I needed. We spoke on the basics of using the Voices.com platform, best practices when auditioning, helpful tips to assist me where I'd asked for help, and genuinely collaborated on where I can move forward from there. In terms of being a pay-to-play industry in the beginning, I'm glad I found Voices.com as a place to start from, and as I book work I know Cameron et al will have my back.

They started out as a good platform for talent many years ago, but like so many stories of greed, this one takes a familiar path; exploit talent and squeeze them for every cent you can. They not only take annual dues from talent, but take a percentage of the talent fees as well?! Brazen theft IMO. They've also been accused of padding the fees without Informing the talent. This is the very last place any voice over artist should patronize.

Had a consultation with Cameron Pocock earlier this week. I appreciated the time he spent before the call as well as the time spent with me on the call. He gave me insight into some best practices for the site, helped my tweak some things on my profile, and went over bidding for jobs. Another thing that I liked, is that he didn't over promise anything. In other words, I obviously still need to audition and yes maybe some clients won't listen to every audition, but that is their prerogative, what I can control is how my profile looks, how my demos and auditions sound, and what things I can do to move into the 100% match territory. Solid advice to help me in my career.

I had wonderful consultation with Cameron this past Monday! He was knowledgeable, kind, patience, and quick. It was clear that he had a lot of experience and knowledge on all things VO. He helped me with basic skills from little pointers on my profile to audio software questions. I am so glad to have had this call! I felt that I learned a lot (all of my questions were answered) and definitely feel supported by the site! I am definitely going to apply all of the tips he gave me to help further my career! Auditioning for this job was so easy and smooth. I read the sample script which ended up being the final manuscript, but ultimately left out a couple of words at the end. The Client loved the read just as is. So I just recorded the last two words and project was completed. Wow!!! Voices.com is the best platform around for Voice Artists to not only get great work, but to also grow and aspire!!! Thanks Voices.com Doug Haynie

I spoke to Cameron at Voices.com regarding improvements to my profile, demos, auditions, etc. in order to achieve a greater success rate for work. Cameron had obviously carried out analysis of my auditions to do and was therefore able to provide feedback and tips for improvement. I have been on a lot of P2P platforms and this is the only one that seems to care about whether or not you succeed. I met with one of their specialists, Cameron, who has been AMAZING to work with. He offered great suggestions and has been available to me whenever I have needed help. I have been very impressed with their site and their customer service.

I avoid this this site like the plague! There are many reasons, but one of the most glaring is the fact they ACTUALLY charge voice seekers to hire you!? This is on top of the $500 annual membership fee! Worst example of talent exploitation I've seen in 20 years in the business. Run, don't walk to the nearest exit!

I am a former paying customer of Voices.com, and was recently sent an email from them offering me 50% off their ridiculous annual price of $499 to come back. The coupon code was aptly named, BABYCOMEBACK, so after some thought, I decided I'd pull the trigger and jump back into the madness, since at that price it might be worth it. However, after several attempts to use the code, the site wouldn't let me use it. So, I sent an email to them stating that their site would not allow me to use the coupon code. I called the next day, and got no one on the line, so I left a message, no reply. So, I called again the next day and they referred me to Evan Wiebe, Senior Talent Account Manager. I left another VM with him, and waited. Finally, Evan responded only to tell me that the coupon had expired and the best they could do was offer me $100 off the annual fee, if I was interested. Hell no, I wasn't interested! I then forwarded him the email that I had sent to their website with a time stamp that clearly showed that I was well within the time limit of having the coupon honored. However, Evan told me that they had no proof of my email showing up in their system, and he asked for more proof. What other proof is there, other than a friggin' email with the time stamp? Am I some computer wizard that makes fake emails to be able to use a coupon code BEFORE it has expired?! He claimed that it just didn't add up. If this is how they treat former customers, then I don't want any part of their company. And go look for yourself about their shady business tactics that I researched after I went through all of this. Let my VOICE be heard: Steer clear of this company!!

I had used Voices.com as a producer, so I knew the quality of voice over artists available. When I shifted career paths and began doing voice overs, I immediately came to the site to subscribe. I knew that I would have the opportunity to be exposed to a number of quality jobs. I will admit it was a little slow getting started, but I earned several times the subscription cost in my first year on the site (and in my second year). I have recommended the site to several people thinking about this line of work. I have never had a problem with the site; never had any trouble with any of the clients; any problems getting paid. All in all, I'm glad I use Voices.com.

He answered what questions I had, provided real insight into things I can improve on my profile and tips for what I should do not only to keep get things rolling, but to keep the forward momentum. Cameron was incredibly helpful and supportive in giving invaluable advice, tips and insights to better my audition submissions in order for me to be as successful on Voices.com as possible! I was impressed that her really went thoroughly through my profile to find out what I needed to modify to ensure I had everything I needed to present my best package to a client. In spite the fact that the "welcome" interview should have happened much earlier on when I first signed up for the site, Cameron was aware of that and made up for it 100%!
