Guy arrived late (after originally turning up the day before) then proceeded to quote an amount 3x what was expected! After phoning the office to complain they reduced it by a whole $20! Was told I could lodge a complaint and they would look at it further but was then told no one could take the complaint till after 6th January. Had no option but to go ahead as power was scheduled to be turned off the next day. Finally an hour after scheduled appointment time the guy was ready to begin but demanded $ up front before he would start. Very unprofessional guy. Spoke very poor English. No signage on van. Would not recommend this company at all

Cheap as chips quoted me $100-$120 for a steam clean for three bedrooms and a hallway. They didn't ask me for any approximate sizes or indicate that stairs would incur an additional charge. When they came to the house they put my room mate on the spot by saying it would be $258.82 or they would not complete the clean (pay up front). I was not home at the time of the visit and my housemate knew that given the timing, we couldn't re-book another cleaner before our final inspection. On the receipt they gave, there is no measurements of area cleaned so it's unclear how they came to this absurd amount. It seems to me, they know that people who are getting a rental cleaned will likely not have time to re-book so they give a quote knowing that they will charge much more. They are a joke.

carpets were professionally cleaned by cheap as chips on wednesday morning after a pint of cream had been spilt about 4 weeks ago (christmas time)
by friday morning, the stain had returned

Not worth a star

I was quoted a fixed price $56 for a simple carpert steam clean of 3 carpeted rooms.

The moron they sent told me it will cost more because of the sq footage $76 THEN tried to upsell me and 30min into my tight schedule he hadn't started. Still trying to squeeze more out of me, which he failed to achieve much to his obvious displeasure.

I then left him to drive into my driveway, hook his hoses up to the water supply whilst I went about my business.

On my return, some 30min later, i discovered to my horror and utter disbelief, that the moron decided to ignore my instructions and drive up onto my lawn which he would have known was sodden after a weeks solid rainfall.

The result (I walked into was) a completely torn up back lawn after his failed attempts to dig his beaten up van out of the bogged lawn.

To Cheap as Chips defence they agreed to waive the carpet cleaning fee and also offered to cover the costs of repairs to the lawn.

Fast forward 2 weeks and I am still chasing for payment for the gardening who rightly so will not lift a finger until he has the funds in his account.

Do yourself a favour Cheap as Chips. Honor your promise to rectify as you should a complete disgraceful service by your contractor. Vet your contractors so they dont try to barta after the deal is done and do not inflict this contractor on any other hard working customers.

I'll update my feedback when the gardener receives payment and completes the repair work and not before.

It can only improve from here.

We were quoted $460 and ended up paying $780. This was mostly due to the walls needing to be cleaned - something we had been specifically told was included in the quote. The cleaner that was sent was rude and refused to show us his ID. Unfortunately my female housemate was home and when she was told she had to pay this money upfront she felt she had no choice as she felt threatened by the cleaner who had started yelling at her when she questioned the price. When we called and complained, Peter the manager told us he would get back to us and very soon after stopped taking our calls. This was a newly renovated and extremely well cared for house and we had been very specific about what needed to be cleaned as per our end of lease agreement. I don't know how this company is still in business and I could not recommend them less.

I was quoted $500 for an end of lease clean and carpet clean via the operator on thephone. There was NO talk of the fact that the quote would change when the cleaners arrive. On the day, the cleaner (subtracted by cheap as chips) tells me it will be $470 for the clean, and the steam clean will be $220!! After MUCH complaining to the cleaners and phoning the company I managed to get down to $420 and $200 but I am BITTERLY disappointed with this service. It's not the cleaners fault necessarilty but they need to work on their quoting service. Whats the point of quoting if you want to charge hundreds of dollars more?! I respect HONESTY - and this company does not provide it. I will NOT be using this service again.

I am a landlord and the tenant engaged the company to do an end of lease clean. I had to ask the cleaners to return to clean the brown stains from the toilet bowl as well as finish cleaning the cooktop. I accepted what they rectified. I then engaged an agent to rent the house, and she pointed out the light fittings were grimy and full of bugs and the mould on the bathroom ceiling could be easily cleaned off. The bathroom fan heater had not been cleaned either. Also candle wax on the wood floors. The agent also commented on the streaks left all over the gloss kitchen cupboards. Overall not a great job for the $$$. The job was in Belmont, geelong

I engaged them last week and they were very professional. I have a 4 bedroom house and wanted a thorough clean due to recent global pandemic. The team of Hanveer came on time and after an initial inspection they started doing their job. All through the job they were very polite and tried to keep the disturbance to minimum. After looking at their detail of work I even engaged them to clean oven and bathrooms. They happily did the work and also gave me some tips to maintain my shiny oven. I have since recommended them to my mum too. And she has been also very happy. They donot only clean they disinfect, sanitise and deodorise too.

Advertised 50 or so bucks for 3 extremely tiny bedrooms. Forced Covid disinfection rates for EACH room?! Charging extra at a time of crisis ffs. Guy wouldn't let me say no to extra chemicals in carpet either as it was "too old" and not good for me (whoop, $20+). Went over their floor sqm limit apparently as the guy laser measured every nook and cranny within cupboards. So another $5-7 x how ever many sqm it was. Carpet still stank after 5 days despite full aeration. Saw guy dispose of dirty liquids in front yard. Call me a naive consumer or what not but it nearly tripled what I'd thought over phone all up.

Got a quote to clean 4 bedroom house and one rug and booked service. Moved all the furniture in the morning but contractor did not show up at booked time. Rang the head office and they said that they had no booking. They did arrange for someone else to come in the afternoon. The contractor arrived and did a new quotation - 3 x as expensive as quoted over the phone! Ended up paying a huge amount for the service - would never use this company again!

Was quoted $450.00 for a vacate clean of a standard 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom house .... which was to include vacuuming, mopping, oven, cooktop and range hood, inside windows, cupboards and marks around the light switches. .... was advised that job could take 6 hours. I was told to bring a little extra cash just in case! Took $500 ..... on initial walk around I was advised that the job was more like $1,100.00. I was horrified.... tried to explain that this was over double my quote! ... Sadly I was time poor and unable to go away and ring around! I felt manipulated! After negotiations was able to remove items from the cleaning list to bring it down to $680.00. .... Was the clean worth $170.00 per hour? Mmmmmmm ..... needless to say will not be using Cheap as Chips Cleaning again.

I got my carpet clean on 4th of May and I've never been this happy with my carpet. It is now clean, fresh and germ-free. It has been a couple of weeks now and I got no problem with the after-service care. Thanks to Cheap As Chips, I can finally get a clean carpet. Would highly recommend their company!

I was quoted $60 for two rugs and then when the cleaner arrived he said they would be $150 to do properly - he agreed to $130 but even at his cheapest - a very basic clean - he wouldn't come close to the quoted price. I had been very clear on what I wanted done when I booked and I felt totally misled. Naturally, they anticipate that the effort of rebooking is such that you will go with their clean - would never use them again.

Had the same cleaner twice, both times he was an hour late. First time, cost almost double what we were told weeks earlier (275 Vs 155) Second time almost walked out when I questioned why the cleaning would be 65 instead of the advertised 55.
Poor cleaning, even small stains not removed, a powerful vacuum would probably do the same job.

Quoted $220 on phone then $350 on arrival! So dodgy. When I called them the receptionist was rude and told me she doubted what I’d been quoted. Appalling service! They take advantage of the fact you need end of lease clean done and can’t get anyone else at short notice. Scammers!

Cheap as Chips employees are very supportive and helpful, Saeed an employee of Cheap as Chips did a great job in my property, he was very helpful and took care of all details (Windows, Doors, Bathrooms, and Kitchen), Thank you very much Saeed.

I hired Cheapest Chips Cleaning for an exit clean, Two bedroom, two bathroom, two story town house. James Was there from 8:00am until 6:00PM and delivered and excellent service! Even threw in some extra services for free. I will be asking for James next time I need a house clean. His service is exceptional! - Shantelle, Pascoe Vale South

The only downfall was that I was given a false quote over the phone by the receptionist.

Organised carpet cleaning of 2 rooms after seeing advertisement '3 Rooms for $56 up to 29m2. I explained that I could not be there by my 19 year daughter would be and asked if there was to be extra cost that they call me first. The lady on the phone said this was fine. The actual cleaner was friendly and efficient but handed my daughter an invoice for $170 instead stating it was more expensive as a sanitizer was applied. I phoned the office and spoke to a man who was extremely rude and told me it was my fault as I should have been at the house. When I asked for an itemised invoice outlining how the cost increased so much, I was told "we don't go into what it costs" and "I don't know". He said I was charged for sanitizer, but refused to tell me how they calculate how much sanitizer is on the invoice. I pushed the issue and asked for the cleaner to call me. He was friendly and simply said, the sanitizer costs $100. I still have been refused an itemised invoice. Would never use this company again.
