AWFUL EXPERIENCE at this clinic. Before coming to Greece for IVF treatment (because the costs are so much better than in the US), I had done a round of IVF in the US and another round in the UK. So this wasn't my first rodeo. At the first video call I was assigned a coordinator named Konstantinos for all my treatments with this clinic. For the first few times he appeared very responsive and attentive, and with that meeting, along with seeing positive reviews, we decided to move forward. As time went along in my preparation and tests conducted in the US, my ability to get timely responses from him got harder and harder. He assured me he was available to me at any time, and although I'm not expecting responses even within 24 hrs, knowing our time difference, I do expect some kind of response to questions in a few days with something as time sensitive as IVF--even if that response is just to say "I hear you, let me get back to you as soon as I can." In the weeks leading up to my flying out to Greece I would have to follow up multiple times on the same questions, and sometimes it could take up to a week to just be acknowledged. I nearly cancelled my trip but decided to move forward still.

When I got to Athens are started my fresh cycle, I found a clinic that was packed with people in the waiting room--upwards of 20-25 patients waiting to see the ONE DOCTOR in the clinic, Dr. Parachos. I would often make an appointment only to wait 1.5 up to 2 hrs for some visits, only to get less than 30 seconds with the Dr himself. He performed my ultrasounds so fast, without saying anything to me about what he was seeing, that one time I even timed it on my phone...31 seconds from the time he walked in the room to when he told me to get dressed. I felt very much like a number and in the McDonald's drive thru of IVF clinics.

During my cycle they NEVER drew my blood to check my hormone levels. And never measured the follicles. Eventually I took matters into my own hands and insisted they do a blood draw and tell my how my follicles were progressing, which they finally did once to appease me. I found myself in tears multiple times at this clinic.

When they did the egg collection, they provided no information on vital information in the following days like, how many eggs fertilized, how many made it to Day 3? Day 5? These updates were commonplace at the other clinics I used. I was BEGGING for information from my coordinator who would ignore me.

After the transfer, I asked to see the embryology report so I could know the grade of my 2 surviving blastocysts and what exactly happened with all my eggs. Both Dr. Parachos & Konstantinos assured me they would give me that information that afternoon. They told me the embryologist would be "right in to see me" to explain. After waiting 2 hrs I finally gave up waiting, however Konstatinos assured me that the report and a copy of my medical records would "be in my email tomorrow morning." That was July 5. After a few days I asked again for my records. He assured me they were coming. Another week. Asked again. Nothing. Fast foward to 3 MONTHS AND ONE LAWYER LATER, I finally received the one page copy of the embryo report and 2 page copy of my IVF protocol and medications. I made more than 7 requests over email and What's App and was just flat lied to multiple times. I wrote a formal letter requesting my records. They ignored me. I finally hired a lawyer and once she stepped in they started sending the records...one page at a time. It took the lawyer about 5-6 calls to finally get them to send these whopping 4 pages of my record. I just now got them, and am sharing this nightmare scenario working with this clinic.

They talk a big game, but unless you want to be ignored, lied to, and have the fastest wham, bam, thank you ma'am style treatment, run far away from EmBIO clinic.

I strongly recomend this clinic I got pregnant on the first cycle 2015 and I am pregnant again ???? Thanks to Embio medical center

Thank you THANK YOU a million times over for helping me become a mom to an almost 1-year-old baby girl! You are the reason for such joy in our lives and I would especially like to thank Dr. Paraschos who, more than anything else, is a professional! I was amazed and felt even more at ease by the amounts of people who I met during the process who knew of his expertise and had already experienced a successful ivf treatment and were in the process of moving on to their next one, as well as by those who entrusted him and his team after having witnessed successful ivf cases of their friends and relatives.

My name is Alexandra, I am 44, and I am three months pregnant. I am writing this testimony hoping to encourage as many women as possible who may have lost their hope.

Four years ago when I lost a child, without over stressing, my husband and I did everything humanly possible to create a family. We turned to exceptional in vitro fertilization centers where I made 3 in vitro fertilization attempts, but the results were all negative. With the passing of time, you can imagine the effect this had on us both economically and psychologically. We had decided to stop all efforts and were convinced that we had to look towards other kinds of procedures such as adoption, etc. One day, I decided to browse on the internet to see which were the best IVF clinics that included the method of donating ova in their program. I found many different clinics but there was one that stood out and made a really good impression on me, so, I decided to write to them and fill in a form that I found on their site, even though I wasn’t feeling too optimistic anyway. The very next morning, I had already received a reply from the doctor, who was amazingly polite, warm and explanatory and who provided a very detailed description of the procedure that we would have to undergo, in the case that we decided to go through with this challenging experience. From that moment onward, they were constantly by my side. There wasn’t an email of mine that he didn’t reply to in just few minutes and whatever doubts, or queries I may have had along with any fears I faced, he was there, always ready to support me and provide me with the information and direction I needed every step of the way. We were informed approximately one week prior to our date of arrival in Greece and when we arrived at the clinic, within just a few days, everything was accomplished in comfort and relaxation, as if we were at home.
Today I'm in my 13th week of pregnancy, everything is going very well so far, and I thank God for showing me the way to Dr Paraschos.

If any one of you has the slightest doubt which center to choose, I can guarantee you will not regret your choice, should you choose EmBIO. I highly recommend it to you after having experimented with the best IVF centers in US. Today, it seems to me a miracle and I will never cease to be grateful to them for sharing my moments during this adventure so closely and with such warmth!

My experience with Embio was not the one I expected it to be, it didn't stand up to its reputation. I am 45 years old, my husband is 50 and we are so much longing for a baby. We are healthy and all our labs are within normal rates.
Pros:
1) state of the art premises, polite and professional staff
2) parking on site
3) friendly doctor
4) prompt response from coordinators, but not always
5) acceptable costs

Cons:

1) super long waiting hours to consult with the doctor, and consultation lasts only few minutes (less than 10, inclusive of ultrasound) and the doctor is divided between 2-3 couples at the same time.
2) personally, I had 4 failed attempts in EMbio, but I kept revisiting the clinic, as each time I was undergoing different treatments ( started with IVF, then IUI, then another IVF, then IVF with Donor Eggs). ALL of them resulted in Negative BHCG, and NO pregnancy. Even in the case of twice failed IVF, the protocol never changed.
I was never given any feedback on why the procedure was destined to fail, I was only told that these things happen. I was never given any information on the quality or the stage of the embryos. They transferred embryos after only 2 days of lab growing.
After each failed attempt we communicated to the clinic, we never got any call from the doctor, we had to call and insist on an appointment with him, which resulted only in a friendly advise " we will be successful next time" and zero feedback. Even if we asked for some further investigations, we were told it wasn't necessary.
But each time, any attempt is translated (for us) into a huge emotional and financial investment from our side, and (for Embio) into huge business.
My last attempt with Donor eggs was a bitter experience. I was asked explicitly to pay cash, and when I did, I was NOT given a receipt, so I became quite upset, and only then they accepted my payment by credit card. I was transferred 3 embryos, which is against the state law in Greece, and the transfer occurred in day 2. When I asked why was that, I was not given an explanation. I had the longest 2 weeks waiting of my life, only to have a Negative pregnancy test. By the way, they didn't require an estradiol lab test on day 3 of my cycle, neither they asked for a TSH.
I self checked my TSH, only to find out it was too high, but when I told the doctor, he said it didn't matter. I was also told that there weren't left any frozen embryos, or the ones left were of poor quality.
I was advised on the spot to have another IVF with donor eggs, and I was given a very small discount.
I will not go back to Embio again.
The approach is "too friendly" and less professional. Failure can happen, but the professional attitude of the doctor can make up to it.
NB. I am a doctor myself, and my husband is a doctor,too, so we know the procedure step by step and I wanted to show my trust to the doctor. I also know how to make my patients feel comfortable and happy. This time I was a patient myself, and the patient journey was rather disappointing. The treatment is not up the standards, so as to guarantee success, and we cannot abide everything to chance.
However, I cannot advise anyone not to go to EMBIO, the choice is absolutely personal. I wish every success to future parents and to the clinic themselves.

Jason is now 38 and I am 35 and we had been trying to conceive for two years.
I was a bit on the overweight side, with a higher BMI, but I had lost 10 kilos over 12 months. Jason quit smoking to improve both his health and our chances of conceiving and yet, we still had no success so we called Embio on the recommendation of Jason’s sister who lives in Athens with her family.
On the first appointment with our fertility specialist, Dr. Paraschos, we were asked to have blood tests done in order to check my husband’s sperm and see if my cycles were ovulatory. Turned out they were longer, but this could have been due to my higher BMI. The tests confirmed that I was ovulating and in few words potentially fertile with no signs of other risks. Jason’s sample was normal too. Our doctor didn’t determine any other causes so we were facing unexplained infertility. He explained that it is common and the cause of up to 35% of infertility problems and so suggested IUI which apparently is less invasive and a good starting point for situations like ours.
Our specialist suggested we try up to two IUI cycles before thinking of more progressive treatments.
And so we opted for IUI and following the second cycle, I was pregnant!! We now are two very happy people with an amazing healthy baby boy in our lives. Thank you to everyone at Embio for your help!

Because I am 42 years old, my eggs were weak. So I asked if I could do IVF. And here the EMBIO center answered that it can help me without having to worry about something, as long as I follow my doctor after embryo transfer.

My only concern was how to combine drugs for non-rejection of the graft with IVF treatment, but my body responded well to this combination. Mr. Paraschos and his team inspired confidence and gave me great support.

I started my treatment on September, 2016, and one month later I was implanted with three embryos, but only one was caught with the first.

I am finally pregnant and I wait for my baby in July 2017. I have to give advice to women who have been transplanted and feel the need for a child: Do not hesitate to contact the EMBIO center in Greece. Your dream one day will take place.

The first time I was informed that I had endometriosis, I had not grasped the amount of physical and emotional hardship I was to endure in the future to come. The pains experienced during my period or during intercourse were excruciating. I was diagnosed with an endometrial cyst (chocolate cyst) in my left ovary yet none of my previous doctors had suggested a laparoscopy. Therefore, I had undergone two unsuccessful IVFs in my efforts to have a baby. Dr. Paraschos explained that my problem could be solved by performing a laparoscopy during which the cyst would be removed while simultaneously all the adhesions would be resolved and never did he doubt how much better I would be. Meanwhile, I was also diagnosed with hydrosalpum which I was advised to have it removed while Dr. Paraschos was against this. The operation performed by the doctor and his team was a life changer for me. The surgery went smoothly and all the pains I suffered before, disappeared. I felt so much better and my psychology was improved to such a degree that I once again had hopes of having a baby. As we speak, I'm 6 months pregnant with my first child without even having to go through another IVF. I thank Dr. Paraschos and his team from the bottom of my heart for their immaculate professionalism, consistency and responsibility.

After having done four unsuccessful cycles, three IVF’s, the words no couple ever wants to hear, that “we might want to consider an egg donor", didn’t come so much as a shock to us, yet we were devastated. Actually, heartbroken might describe what we felt more precisely, not because there’s anything wrong with an egg donor, but just the fact that we did not seem to be able to have a baby on our own and the financial aspect and stress of going down that road seemed too much to bear at that particular point.
We decided to put it off for a while and to just take it easy while we considered, at a slower, more relaxing pace, all our options. We were told about a fantastic clinic and an amazing doctor there, so, he became my only and last hope and I was bent on finding a solution to my problem as no one had really explained to us what the problem was. Both of our tests had shown no specific problem. At EmBIO clinic, where I had some extra tests done (that hadn’t been done before), such as my ovaries tested, then Dr. Paraschos caused an over-hyper stimulation of my ovaries, hence, I couldn’t do an egg retrieval at that stage so we had to wait for the next cycle (#8) and to our indescribable relief and joy, WE MADE IT!!!!

We are forever grateful to Dr. Paraschos and his whole team that was there for us every step of the way, he encouraged us, he was polite, and he was professional most of all! Today, we have a 1-year old baby girl who is the love of our lives and feel so fortunate to have trusted my instincts and to not have given up!

We are a couple from Uk and we been told that there are very low chances to get a baby even trough an IVF treatment because the sperm of my husband was very bad, 98 por cent bad.
We have searched for the best clinic in Europe and we found EMbio Medical with dr Thanos Paraschos -as the best and i filled a form and after 20 minutes i received my first email from the doctor, very efficient .After a few emails during a few days between us and Dr Paraschos who by the way he was quick in his replies with full explanations to our questions and videos about the procedure , we have decided to go in Greece to meet the Dr at Embio Medical Center. Everything has happened as discussed on the emails.We found the clinic and the staff very professional , very nice and very friendly thank you all. Especially a big thank you to Dr Paraschos who told us from the first consultation that we have high changes to have a baby and I couldn't believe it! all went very good , Dr Paraschos is very confident with what is doing , very experienced doctor and you can see he is such good and nice person.
Also they have very good prices in comparison with other clinics and will never charge you more then is necessary and this is very important , very happy about this thing.

Dr. Paraschos, the ivf coordinator Elena, every nurse and every staff member were very knowledgeable, kind, and caring. They were obviously very medically oriented, as opposed to just being a "puppy mill". In the midst of my being a patient there, not once did I feel like a number. On the contrary, they looked after our best interest and were very willing to work around our schedule since we travelled from Canada just to be treated by Dr. Paraschos who had treated my Greek Canadian friend with success as well, prior to our try. I recommend this clinic to anyone who is serious about starting a family. I put my trust 100% in Embio, Dr Paraschos and Elena but i felt they let us down. Right from the start i felt that they never had enough time to answer all our questions clearly and with conviction. We always felt rushed, the waiting room was jam packed with people and we felt like we were on a conveyor belt. We had 3 attempts using donor eggs and my husbands sperm. All 3 were negative. Each time we were told we had 3 embryos and they were 'very good quality'. We've been through IVF before, so to us that answer was extremely vague. We were never told how they were dividing. Also we couldn't understand how after using a donor, we only had 3 eggs each time and none of the other eggs were good enough to freeze. That was the time for them to have told us that they share the eggs maybe, but they never explained the reason. The first 2 transfers were done after 3 days. We felt that was too soon to test the quality of the eggs but the last attempt was after 2 days. When we questioned that we were told that according to 'Dr Paraschos and recent scientific medical evidence, a 2 day transfer was better than a 3 day transfer'! I found nothing to suggest that anywhere but we put our faith and trust in his hands but again we got a negative result. So basically each of our attempts was a lottery so it would depend on if we got the better quality donor eggs in order for our cycle to be successful. We all know that out of say 12 eggs retrieved, only 2 or 3 tend to be of high quality that make it to the last stage and usually it's those that survive up to the 5 day blastocyst stage. Sadly, the eggs we received were obviously not of that standard. Also, rather tellingly, our protocol was NEVER changed after each failure. Surely they would have tried to find out why it wasn't taking and done something different next time? Choose somewhere where they are open and honest with you, have time for you, treat you as an individual and above all do NOT share your eggs. We would definitely NOT recommend going to Embio.

Dr. Parashos has faith in his patients and doesn’t throw in the towel no matter how difficult and complicated anyone might think his/her situation might be or is. We had been trying to conceive for 4 years prior to visiting with him at EmBIO Clinic. Thank god we had! We are now ready to go back to try and have a second baby and I am positively certain that he will come through for us again. I thank Dr Paraschos who helped me realize my dream at 48 with two beautiful girls in good health. I am so grateful to him for having realized almost the impossible, for it had been more than 13 years since we were in different proceeding without success. My perseverance, determination and his great expertise were the key to success. Mostly each day, I tell my story to motivate many other couple to believe in it. I will never say enough thank you, and beautiful continuity with what you are doing.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer at 32 years old while at the same time I had my wedding booked and plans to start a family. We had no choice but to postpone everything since treatment was our first and main concern and obviously had priority over anything else. I had to start chemotherapy and was warned that it may have an impact on my fertility, something that brought me a lot of grief at the time. I was faced with a lot of very serious decisions regarding my cancer treatment and knew that any kind of family planning would have to be put aside. About two and a half years later I decided to stop my medication and try to conceive naturally. And after a year and a half of trying without success, we found out that my “ovarian reserve” had been affected by the chemo and I also had a blocked fallopian tube. When I came in to Embio for my first consultation and scan with Dr. Paraschos, I instinctively thought he knew what he was talking about. He had made his research concerning my ordeal with cancer and all its details before seeing me and created a protocol to use less drugs and work with an emphasis on my natural cycle so as not to trigger the cancer. Although I was told that my chances were low, I knew that Dr. Paraschos and his people would do everything possible for me.
Without doubt I believe that no other clinic would have paid such attention to my case. My doctor and staff at Embio made me feel secure and hopeful and reassured me that I was in the best of hands and it turned out that I really was.
I definitely recommend Embio clinic to everyone. That’s exactly what I have already been doing! From the doctors, and in particular Dr. Paraschos, our ivf coordinator, to the nurses and receptionists, everyone was really compassionate and unforgettably lovely to us! God bless them all! I am a healthy mother with my beautiful miracle daughter in my arms and a wonderful partner who was and is my rock!

A special thanks to doctor Paraschos and his assistant Elena for making us feel right at home in Greece at the EMBIO ivf center as we travelled a great distance from Canada .All of our needs were meat and superseded by there hospital, all of our questions answered to our satisfaction and the final result was that my wife did get pregnant and we are expecting a child.

The personnel was very understandable and helpfull. The Clinic itselve is a very clean center. Sometimes the waiting times were a bit long and there were not many seats. But this doesn´t matter because of the result of having our precious baby boy.
