Energywatch.com.au Reviews & Complaints (16)

I have received a number of calls from them, then today for the third time they rang trying to say my energy usage agreement was due for renewal and that they had organised my previous deal with my energy supplier, what a load of codswallop, I organised it myself by negotiating between Origin & AGL & managed to do so without incident & received the full discount without using any of these incompetent idiots.

Approximately two years ago I enquired with Energy Watch on the Phone to see what or how i could save money on my power bill.To move from Energy Australia who i was not happy with. The sales representative from Energy watch took all of my details and rates and usage details and suggested i change or move my power provider to Power Direct .He also advised me that I had a ten Day cooling off period and I could opt out of of the change of suppliers within 10 days were I would stay connected to Energy Australia.

After getting off the phone with the salesman i seemed happy to finally make some sort of reduction in my power costs.

Five minutes after getting off the phone I sent power direct an email with some questions.Below are examples of some and how I sent them an email full of questions.

Hi I am a new customer can you please send me your billing details, can i pay at the post office, how often will the bills be sent, when is the meter read etc etc etc .

AFTER 8 DAYS As a potential new customer with Power direct recommended by Energy Watch NO REPLY.

So I contacted Energy Watch to opt out within my 10 day cooling off period by email and by phone..

My power supply was moved over to Power direct anyway and thats when all hell broke loose at my end.

An emails was sent to me from Energy Watch explaining, how sorry they were for what they did (change my power provider even when i chose to opt out within the 10 day cooling off period) with all details of there company removed from the email including header address etc etc i still have this document.

So i would just like to pass on to all those out there that want to change energy suppliers of my experience with Energy Watch. While i was here i have just looked at reviews for Power direct as an energy supplier recommended to me by Energy watch , and I was not surprised at all.

About 6 weeks ago I went to their website and stupidly gave them my phone number. When the page asked for all other contact details I just shut it down. I wanted an on line comparison …. didn't want to talk to anyone. They haven't stopped calling me since. Several times a day. When I answer the phone there is no one there. I think they want me to call them. I have blocked their number on my phone, but they just use another number and keep on calling. This is harassment. If anyone knows how to stop them, I'd appreciate some tips. Wouldn't recommend them to anyone …. ever.

Was told with some enthusiasm the new provider would charge $170.00 per quarter compared with $320.00 being paid. Received first full account and it was exactly that same as previous provider. Don't fall for the nonsense.

I phoned energy watch to compare prices as I had a letter from red energy that all power was going up, energy watch recommended agl and did the comparison for me they told me up I would save up to $40 per bill, on review after I had hung up I phoned red energy and the woman gave me a comparison that meant agl would actually cost me more to Change as their supply costs per day were a lot more even though a bigger discount on usage was offered, I phoned energy watch to let them know this and no one would talk to me! I have threatened to take them to consumer affairs for misleading information, I will phone agl myself tommorow and cancel any agreement that energy watch has made with them, I will also phone red and make sure they do not deactivate my account! Energy watch are such a shocking company that should not be allowed to operate in Australia!

Did one quote online to just get some general info. Received a phone call 10 minutes later. Explained I wasn't interested in changing. Called the next day. Said the same thing - not interested! They have called everyday, every hour for 4 days. I have blocked their number. They continue to call even though they have had zero response from me. Do not fall into their web!!! Do not quote. Do not talk to them. This is harassment!

Called seeking a quote on Mar 13. I was told I would receive a 20% discount on gas and electricity in I retained AGL as my provider. I agreed and signed up. Four months later, I'm getting bills from Origin. I call AGL and am informed that my gas never connected with them, nor do they offer a 20% discount. It takes Energy Watch five weeks to 'investigate', but they allege that I only agreed to have electricity connected.

Dishonest, unorganised and unprofessional

Nadine from Energy Watch sold me on an additional discount that was never received and when querying with the electricity supplier, AGL, they said the discount was not possible. Contacted Energy Watch for an answer and they ignored my emails. Don't bother with this organisation. Go direct instead.

Received my new contract offer from AGL which was a considerably lower discount than the one I was currently on. The new offer from AGL was 13% discount for electricity usage and 7% on gas usage. My enquiry to Energy Watch resulted in a new offer from AGL with a 26% discount for electricity and 15% for gas. A fantastic result which I accepted. About 2 days later, I received confirmation from AGL of the Energy Watch offer so I am 100% pleased with Energy Watch service and the results obtained. Would highly recommend using this service.

My change over of Power Supplier never happened even though I received a confirmation Email from Energy Watch saying it would (now 3 Months down the track). They haven't responded to Emails, and don't return calls Whatever you do 'STAY AWAY' from these idiots!

A consultant called me and said it was "urgent" because the discount requested was rejected by AGL. I told her how this could be considered "urgent" and she told me I may not have any gas because of this was "trying to help me." This riled me up and she continued to be rude and obnoxious.

Called AGL directly and assured me my gas account was still active and gave me the discount anyway. Called EnergyWatch back and lodged a complaint with the supervisor for irresponsible statements made by the agent. Don't make the mistake in answering the phone!!!

I have had hundreds of calls over the last year, sometimes up to 4 times a day. I’ve explained numerous times that I have moved interstate & do NOT have a choice of my energy provider. They tell me they will remove my number but still continue to call. I’ve had 1 man scream at me that they are trying to help me, I’ve had them call & then just hang up when I answer. This happens a lot. I’ve blocked numerous numbers & now they call with no caller id. I’ve bloody well had enough. If I harassed someone like this I’d be charged. But what can I do to stop this? How many times can you explain yourself? I’m so fed up.

They call me about 3 times a day on average over the last 1-2 weeks. Numbers starting in 9425 and mobiles 0488 and 0499. Have blocked approx 10 different numbers if not more.
I spoke to someone today and told them I am happy with my current provider.
Just hoping the calls stop now
