Markson Tennis

I thought the weekend was great and they did a great job of maximizing the time even with the downpour on Sunday. Our coach on Monday however while very nice, lacked energy and I would have liked a bit more motivated coaching from her. Had we had better coaching in Monday I would have given 5 stars. Nonetheless i will come back.

My family (wife and two kids, age 11 and 13) and I just came back from a week in Luz at one of Jonathan Markson's tennis holidays. We had a terrific time! The kids really enjoy the lessons and so did my wife and I (possibly even more). Luis (the head coach) and Ricardo were terrific. I wished they took the kids for a day or two as well as they were fun and full of good tips (especially Ricardo). We stayed at the Baia da Luz apartment resort, which is really nice. Large apartments, two pools (one for adults and one for kids), two additional tennis courts and one restaurant. The apartment was serviced twice during the week and there was a garage space available. The village is relatively small but with a very nice beach and some good restaurants. It is very close (10 min drive max) to Lagos and about one hour west of Faro, which is the closest airport. The weather was extremely pleasant basically the entire week in spite of being the last week of October.

Annabel had a fantastic week. She loved getting to know kids form other countries and thought her tennis improved a lot as well.
I appreciated the attention the organisers paid to her peanut allergy.

It would be unfamiliar environment to Su Chan in speaking English and playing tennis outside intensively . However, coaches of Yorkshire were really kind to Su Chan to make him feel comfortable. Especially we would like to thank to coach Manuel who taught and took care of Su chan with warm heart and made Su Chan more interested in tennis.
We had a wonderful week and we would like to comback next year.

Coaches were excellent with superb technical knowledge and were able to explain complex strokes corrections to the basic player, and on top of this all of them had great personalities!

Set up and organization was top class! With excellent guidance given by the organizers and the coaches

Non tennis activities were a real joy too!

I went for a one week Tennis Camp in Cambridge. Highly recommend this camp because of:
1. The coaches distinguished by their professional method of coaching and entertaining approach spiced with a great sense of humor. This kept us motivated even in moments when we were tired after long training hours.
2. The excellent organization of the tennis trainings, tournament and out-of-the-court activities.
3. The other participants in the camp -very humble, intelligent and selected people from all around Europe (even USA).
4. Cambridge is a wonderful place and changed totally my perception of England in a positive way.

Special thanks to the coaches Andrea, Diego, Gabriele, Carlos and to my likable -Paco :)

For one week I changed the technic of my forehand which is a big improvement for me for such a short period!

It was really nice

Great coaching from Luis and his team. Informative and fun. My third time and I’ll definitely return. A perfect combination of good tennis, nice hotel and a lovely setting. Thoroughly recommended!

I enjoyed the Oxford summer camp for two reasons: 1. I learn new techniques and improved serving skills due to daily intensive training; 2. I made friends with people of my age from many countries and gained cultural insights.

des super coachs, une expérience incroyable, Je crois que ces deux semaines resteront gravés à vie dans la mémoire de mon fils, il s'est fait beaucoup d'amis...merci aussi au prof d'anglais qui a su redonner l'envie d'apprendre, une langue, à mon fils !!! Deux semaines formidables...peut être qu'il faudrait améliorer l'état des terrains de tennis, mais c'est un détails par rapport à ce qu'Oscar a pu vivre !!!

La qualità del tennis e dei coach è molto alta. Sono bravi ad insegnare e a far integrare nel gruppo. La routine quotidiana è ben organizzata e divertente. Il cibo, non sempre, è buono. Le stanze sono confortevoli e spaziose. Infine le lezioni di inglese sono utili e divertenti. Mi sono divertito molto e credo che tornerò l’anno prossimo.

I would highly recommend anyone to join the JMT tennis camp in Cambridge!

I felt lucky to be able to play tennis 5 hours a day with people coming from all around the world, on beautiful grass courts and in a friendly atmosphere.

All the coaches are really great, always paying attention on how they can help players to improve their skills and game. They gave me some very interesting tricks that helped me a lot!

And finally, the location and accomodation are really nice and make you feel living as in a Harry Potter movie!

I recently enjoyed two outstanding weeks of tennis camp with coaches Luis and Ricardo. Their coaching was instructive and fun. The staff and accommodation at Luz Bay Hotel were excellent. This was the fifth tennis camp that I have participated in and was, for me, the most fun. I hope to return to Luz Bay camp next February.

Rachel enjoyed very much her week with you. She improved her tennis technique and made new friends. She was impressed with the high level of professionalism and high standard tennis. She is missing her daily Tennis coaching and would love to come again

I had a nice week. Good trainers, nice group. Too many participants for the number of trainers. Because we had too little coaching. That is why I received too little coaching in my opinion. Because of the rain, it would have been nice to play more inside.

Dear Andrea, Gabriele, Paco, Carlos, Diego and all the guys, thank you for the mavelous vacation in Cambridge!
I am so happy that I found this camp and could join you! I really enjoyed our 5h a day trainings and all the time together:) Hope, I will come back one more time (at least).
Also it would be great if you make such camp in another city! I enjoyed Cambridge, but it's cool to change locations.

We were a large group of 20 people and I was the group's co-coordinator so thoroughly appreciated the friendly and efficient booking service, The payment system was also straight forward,allowing each individual to pay directly rather than it all having to be collated by one member of the group. Because of the size of our group, transfers to / from the hotel in Barcelona were arranged at our request, and these worked really well, much easier than trying to keep everyone together on the Metro.

The hotel was a typical 3 star and perfectly adequate. The service from the staff on reception though was exceptional. They assisted with restaurant recommendations and bookings, advice on city tours and calling the transfer company to confirm timings on our return. Our rooms were in a different building, a 3-4 minute walk from the main reception. This was absolutely fine.

The tennis was brilliant. During the course of the 3 days there were 5 coaches on hand so our groups were small and they made it fun. The coaching started each morning at 8am which was quite early. The club has a wonderful shaded area and a cafe that serves excellent coffee and refreshments and it was a great place to chill in when not on court. We had rain on our final morning and were not allowed on the clay courts so the coaches organised an introduction to paddle tennis for us.

I enjoyed a lot the tennis Camp in Cambridge. Well organised. Thanks to all coaches.

The first three days were great., However, we didn’t get any more feedback from the coaches after that. They were just watching us (not even feeding us balls)or joking around, which I found both frustrating and unprofessional.
Having two tournaments in a week doesn’t make sense either. It looks like you are trying to keep us busy...

I was very satisfied with my coach Ismaël Dulloo. The training was well measured out and he was very patient and knowledgeable, pleasent to train with. I have learned a lot from Ismaël and my tennis skills have improved thanks to his coaching. I would recommend him further without reservations.
