Saltwater Fish

They ship out fish in deplorable condition. I'd say the leftover dead and dying stock. Tried two multiple orders, and same results. Out of a total of 15 fish ordered....two made it and are still alive. Most were on their way to death before they were shipped, it was pretty obvious. I'd order elsewhere if you have to order online.

Made my biggest order ever online, I never received the package and they said they would refund to my bank. A week later they said they could only give me store credit. I do not want to make another order I just wanted my money back. FRAUD SCAMMERS

I ordered a tank raised pinnatus batfish. I received it late in the afternoon and it didn't look well. I figured it might come around after I started slow acclimation. The fish died fours hour later. I contacted them to ask for either a credit or a replacement fish, but they refused. They told me I could get a courtesy $15 credit if I sent them a picture of my tank. A very expensive lesson to learn.

I had same experience fellow reviewers have had. DOA livestock ( understandable seeing they use fed ex) and given store credit that you have to pay $40 shipping to use. What's the point of a guarantee if you have to spend 5 times the money to be made whole. They won't waive shipping to replace your losses. They want you to spend $100 to redeem a $14 credit. Policy is a joke. I refuse to do business with companies that have no honor. Do the same. Shop elsewhere. These guys are full of Shiite.

I have purchased from them multiple times, every time the fish are sicker, emaciated, and now have killed off all my fish I have had for years. They send you the smallest snails, hermit crabs.. the last two shipments they sent me dead fish, twice. And did not honor their own guarantee . Only gave me credit for one fish, was supposed to be a cash credit.... do not buy from them.

I ordered from this company twice on two different occasions. Both times, my orders arrived the majority of the fish arrived dead. The others lived a couple days and died. I've never been able to get any fish ordered from Saltwaterfish.com to live. I have been keep saltwater fish for more than twenty years and have several fish in my tank currently, I've had for more than 15 years. In a nutshell, it's not my tank, it's the quality of fish and their process of preparing/shipping. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY WITH THIS COMPANY!

I left a previous review extolling the virtues of this site. Today, I received a phone call informing me that my order was too heavy and there would be a $20 shipping fee. This makes the order too expensive. Why was this fee not disclosed prior to my completing the order?? Not happy!

Ordered a ritteri anemone, fed ex delivers day late and dead. Happens, was told one would be reshipped when became available. The following weekend again they had ritteri anemones for sale, but not for me. When I reach out I'm told they didn't pass inspection (seems to be the go to lie). I wasn't even contacted to be told some were available for "inspection" just see they're for sale on the website. I wait a full ten days, now keeping an eye on the website to see what they're selling. Now they have a WYSIWYG ritteri, two and a half times the price, but looks good in the pictures. I order online, pay, and contact to take the price of the DOA of the price of the upsale anemone. Which they graciously did. Day to ship comes, midday I get a text. Wouldn't you know, didn't pass inspection. No worries though, they have another anemone they can offer me. This one is $467.97 on sale from $719.90. The original anemone was $95, then $259, now $467.97... wow.... more money than I'm going to spend. Knowing the answer, I asked if they were prepared to ship the alternative at the same price. They offer me a $15 discount, I declined. I had two orders pending totaling almost $500, I canceled both. As one contained the anemone and the other clown fish for it. Bummed about my experience, later in the evening I troll some other livestock sites. You can imagine my extreme disappointment when I find the exact WYSIWYG anemone (the high dollar one) for $50 less on the other site. For all the hassle for all the inconvenience, they still wanted to charge $35 more than another site. I've purchased from both saltwaterfish.com and the other site (which, out of proper form I won't mention, but google will easily bring you to) on many occasions and they are comparable in quality. The other site ALWAYS has better prices. I'm sure you can imagine who I will order from in the future, knowing they draw from the same pool. Customer service can sometimes make the up charge worth while this is for sure not the case with this company.

Takes your money never ships, tells you delayed and still never ships. Very limited communication. Place order they set up delivery day never update with delivery info, received a message stating cold weather delayed shipping which is fine, but never update new shipment date.

After ordering a few times from saltwaterfish.com I had been happy with the fish I received. In today's order however I received a tiny cleaner shrimp that was DOA. I contacted a rep and was told that since it was a 'rreebie' there was no guarantee. In my opinion its not much of a 'freebie' if it arrives dead.Disappointed with this experience.

Placed an order with free shipping, they forgot to include a heating packet, received frozen dead anenome. rather than replace it they wanted to charge me an extra $40 (shipping + packaging) to replace it. Will never shop from them again and will be sharing my experience as a warning to others.

I know when Fed Ex sent me a delay notice there would be dead fish! Why dont they put a big floresent orange sticker on the package saying LIVE FISH, so Fed Ex knows. Received a dead fish and they refund the price of the fish, insted of sending a replacement! Now its going to cost me another $40 on top of the price of the fish! Spend days trying to get someone on the phone, piss poor customer service!!!!

Do not buy from Saltwaterfish.com. They only credit back to your credit card if a specimen dies within 5hours of arrival. Otherwise you get a store credit so you will be stuck with that. Will never buy from them again!

Decided they could not provide the fish advertised, claimed I would get a refund for one fish in the order. Still have yet to see it. The two other fish were shipped to me without any option to change, meaning I was charged full shipping despite getting a partial order. When the fish arrived, one was dead upon arrival, but since I did not have time to file a report without 5 hours of delivery, they claim they will only give store credit. Absolutely terrible experience. These people are thieves.

2 issues within 2 days of dealing with this company. First they didnt want to honor the freebie I chose and had me choose a different one even though said freebie was still advertised. Second I had 1 shrimp doa a $6 shrimp and they didnt want to honor the replacement. Its live aquaria for me from now on. Also they have been reporting reviews to raise their ratings on other sites.

I bought 3 items water was at 68 degrees one fish made it alive and was not the item I ordered called and left messages sent pics and emails as they want for refunds no refunds or response I will never buy from again horrible experience Live Aquaria is most definitely way way better can't believe the way they treat their customers

Bought crabs, snails, and a fish. Packaged arrived in 110 degree weather in late afternoon. I read on their website that they checked the weather? Opened box and it was like a sauna in there. All crabs and snails were not packed in water and were cooked upon arrival. Fish arrived in dirty swamp like water and I tried to save it, but it died 2 days later. They gave me store credit for everything after arguing with them for 3 days. But now I'm trying to use up the credit and there's no free shipping unless I order double the amount and there charging $10 more for packaging? I guess I'll clear my account out, but never again. BTW- There prices are $2 to $10 more than Live Aquaria.

Too many casualties, either dead fish on arrival or a week later. Guarantees with credit are quick but that's not the point. Packaging was also not great. I thought my water parameters were the issue but I had no problem with the competition. You lost me for good. I am not returning. Thanks.

This site is an absolute scam. They ship dead fish and then claim to have a guarantee. When asked to simply ship the fish that were ordered we were told thats not how it works. By the time you apply the credit it doesnt even cover shipping on the next order. Then they again ship dead fish and wont credit you again because its against their policy. They have no problem shipping dead merchandise several times but only credit you once. Im out close to $100 from this site. DO NOT BUY, total ripoff

I will never buy from saltwaterfish.com again. These people have messed up my order twice on the same order. They ship out fish that are in no condition to make it to the tank. I had one of the bags leak out and the fish was dead on arrival. The customer service is horrible. I've been hung up on after being on hold for over 30 mins! Then when do get a hold of them. I tell them the order is messed up. They are rude about it. Im taking my business elsewhere, no thank you. Good luck saltwater fish.com you need to change the way you treat your customers! Never again!!!!
