Excellently organised trip over four of the nine Azores islands. All the flight, transfers, trips and hotels ran like clockwork.
Very helpful when specifying the trip and in making requested changes.

We have travelled with Azores choice three times now and have always found them to be very helpful. We can actually speak with someone who knows all the islands and can advise on numerous things, places to stay , go, eat etc. We would be happy to book through them again.

Max Cousins at Archipelago Choice did an outstanding job of putting together a phenomenal walking & touring trip that consisted of two & a half weeks visiting 6 Azores islands followed by just over a week of doing the same along the Algarve coast. The logistical details were impeccable!!!

from the day we stepped off the plane, everyone was wonderful including our guide day one, hotel, and return driver to airport. Very fun, personable, knowledgeable and always willing to help.

Failing to book the first hotel for two nights. They did find another hotel but it caused problems with baggage.
Not ensuring the required hire car was available on Terceira.

My daughter and I went whale watching on Faial in May. Had a wonderful experience despite the poor weather. Pedro and the crew were fantastic. We only managed to get out 2 times but wow saw 3 blue whale, 1 fin whale and dolphins. Had a jeep tour of the island which was very interesting. Will definitely go again. My advice if your thinking of going, prepare for all weather conditions its more changeable than the UK!

Due to illness our holiday didn't go to plan but the team at Archipelago Choice both in the UK and at the office in the Azores were so helpful they made a difficult situation manageable. Their support and customer service is brilliant

the service was very good, the guide as well but I felt I was the only one, with the guide, really interested in birding and search for birds. The others had a passive behavior. It will be better to have an homogeneous group especially in Corvo where people go to bird, hardcore birding

After some basic planing mistakes:-

2 Poor understanding of the client requirements in the Azores, Archeo

This was a very well-organised holiday and it ensured that we made the most of our two weeks there.

The people at Archipelago Choice were outstanding - there were difficulties with our original booking due to the drones over Gatwick in December so after discussing a variety of options with us, they re-arranged the trip for March instead.

They made the decision very easy and painless and we were extremely pleased. They were helpful, polite and nothing was too much trouble for them. I cannot recommend their services highly enough.

Not only did they re-book our travel but also our guided bird watching - this was a highlight of our holiday and our day with Girby was excellent.

Provision of suggested walk details was a really nice touch and helped us make the most of our short trip (1 week).

The reason we chose to re-book for March was to make it a celebration for my birthday - Archipelago Choice staff were aware of this and on the evening of my birthday, they arranged for a bottle of wine and a cake to be delivered to our room - such a lovely surprise and such a considerate thing to do - it was very touching.

Everything about this trip was so well organised for us - this company really go the extra mile. I cannot use enough superlatives to express how highly I would rate our experience of using Archipelago Choice.

The contracted guide, Andreia, via Geo Fun, was amazing. She was very professional and accommodated some rather strong personalities on our trip. The logistics went flawlessly. The choice of walks was challenging and beautiful! The side trips to beaches and the springs and botanical gardens in Furnas were great. The Hotel do Colegio in Ponta Delgada is in a great location and the breakfasts were plentiful and tasty. The hotel has been recently renovated, and the results were spot on. Lovely rooms and the new breakfast room alleviated crowding that we had on the way in. (We were there the last day before leaving, so we could see the difference).

The Hotel Beira Mar on Terceira was located right on the beach, which was fantastic. The main problem there was you couldn't sleep on the beds. It seriously felt like you were sleeping on box springs, the springs were so bad popping through the mattress. Everyone said the same thing, so it was a problem hotel wide. Can't believe they have mattresses that old and that bad. If they fixed that, I could rate the hotel much higher.

The Residencial Neto was not good. It's on busy streets on 3 sides, and the marina is being renovated behind, so it was nearly impossible to sleep. The rooms are not insulated at all, so you hear everyone coming and going in the halls as well. Reading other people's reviews, I guess they find it OK because it's cheap, but you get what you pay for! Breakfast was minimal.

The Azoris Faial Garden Hotel was lovely. Quiet and on the hill just above the marina there. Beautiful pool with impressive views, and the breakfast room is just above that, so also great views. Breakfast selection here was great. The bedroom was small but well decorated and the bed was so comfortable.

The choice of resorts in the different Island was varied from 5 star hotels to querky B& B s.The only disappointment was our first whale watching as the company,once 1 whale had been seen thought they had forfilled their obligation and went off watching dolphins and giving us a very uncomfortable ride.2nd trip fantastic.

First proper trip to Azores having previously visited for a day on cruise.
Found Azoreschoice quite by chance following Google research only.So glad I did- their service was outstandingly helpful and professional.They know the place better than the locals-everything from hotel to transfers and trips was perfect AND they had an office in Ponta Delgada for any assistance needed.The documentation provided for the holiday was also very complete and professional.Special mention of Jake who co-ordinated the trip who was very knowledgeable and talked everything through-we will return.

We booked through Archipelago Choice who tailor made our holiday.Their organisation was excellent,from the taxis who met us at the airport to the guides who took us on the jeep trips.These trips took us to the most beautiful places and the guides were so courteous and well informed.The whale watching was very exciting and the young women on the boats from Ponto Delgardo (Futurismo) were full of enthusiasm and very professional.
We had a week in Ponto Delgardo and the hotel was very comfortable with a great location overlooking the harbour.We had a balcony and enjoyed watching the boats..The hotel itself was modern so not much in the way of character but the staff were helpful and friendly and there was a good buffet breakfast.
The town itself was pretty with shady squares and cobbled streets.We loved the patterns made of black and white cobbles on the pavements.So many different designs..
There were plenty of places to eat or have a glass of beer.Not good for vegetarians though.
Prices about the same as the U.K.or a bit cheaper.Lots of outdoor things to do.No good if you want to go clubbing.
We spent the second week in Horta on Faial.Again flights,taxis,trips all very well organised.We really liked Horta,it has so much character.The hotel was older and had a history to it.Our room overlooked the harbour with stunning views across the water to Pico with it's picture book volcano.The harbour was so interesting.The concrete harbour walls and the road was covered in graffiti!But what graffiti.Visiting yachts leave pictorial messages of their visits,there are even competitions.It's fascinating.Pete's Bar next to the harbour is also full of messages .
There are beautiful walks ,you can hire bikes or motor scooters and you can go diving,whale watching ,book a jeep trip etc.
The Azores are beautiful,perfect if you like an active,exploring sort of holiday.

We had the most amazing week on Sao Miguel in early July. We had a good chat with Jake at Archipelago Choice who took the time to find out what we were interested in and what kind of holiday we wanted to have...and then he emailed us with a couple of itineraries and choices of accommodation. We loved the level of detail, personal service and the care taken to give us the best experience - we wanted to do some self-guided walking, some whale watching and had some idea of other things we wanted to do, but the itinerary was superb and we pretty much followed it! The self-guided walks were provided with a map and directions, and we were also provided with useful guides and a great road map. Our accommodation was fantastic (Quinto do Mar) and everything went so smoothly. I really can’t praise the company highly enough; we highly recommend them and will definitely book with them again in the future!

Excellent ..... Came up with a super itinerary for our two week holiday to The Azores, and then dealt with everything very efficiently including hotels, car hire, transfers and golf. Would highly recommend.

David and I have had a wonderful experience with this company in 2015, 2017 and this year 2018 which has been the best of all, their service is second too none.
