David lloyd finchley staff are racist, they have poor facilities that have not been maintained for decades. Absolute shithole in contrast to what they portray this place to be.

I have been a member of David Lloyd north Manchester for almost 10 years now and all I can say is the general manager who took over has not got a clue, from my understanding he was manager of a supermarket who when ever I go spends the whole time sitting at the table in the cafe. The equipment is diabolical and not very well looked after and the hygiene of the members is disgusting for instance the guy that stair climbs in the morning (usually between the hours of 10-11am) sweats profusely and never ever wipes down the dirty sweat that’s just come off him which on many occasions sprays those working out or running next to him it’s no wonder germs are a-rift, there I have only ever seen the mature members wiping down equipment, and given the seriousness of corona I was shocked that they stayed opened as long as they did until the government ordered all businesses to close, the majority of members here are high risk and this club could think about was making as much money as they could, when I asked about freezing my membership I was told very very rudely by the receptionist with no manners who barely wears any clothes that it wasn’t possible at this time and I would still be charged a fee of £40 each month it’s closed. She wasn’t helpful at all and was more bothered at how much attention her cleavage was getting... which was gross, this isn’t a place to win a sugar daddy. The personal trainers are there to get in the knickers of the teenagers they train which seems to be the norm at DL because they think they are impressed by the amount of steroids they take and on occasion pushed their clients to try, the women whose husbands pay for their memberships need to not look so desperate to get laid their tennis skirts get smaller by the day and forget that this is a family gym no one cares how much your fake diamonds are worth or how much your breasts were or how much Botox it took to fix your face.
Avoid at all costs. Good luck to anyone who is currently trying to get out of a contract

David Lloyd Cambridge sales managers are so aggressive that they put you off
I came with the intention to join the club, but the sales manager Jenny was very aggressive and unwelcoming that I have changed my mind

The year was 2002 when I was first man handled off of the premises of one of London’s most premier David Lloyd health clubs. I can’t disclose which one for legal reasons #GaggingOrder, ironic really as gagging was what got me into this sticky situation in the first place. Gagging, spanking, whipping, shagging, you could say it wasn’t just the Jacuzzi that was bubbling on that rather heated day in June.

The day started no differently to any other, myself and Brie were sat in the hot tub, perfectly positioned in order to make the most of the jets and therefore turning the oversized bubble bath into a communal sex toy. Little did we know that we didn’t need to make the most of this generous service as shortly after we amerced ourselves into the spa, we were joined by the entire starting 11 of a well known football team. Again, I can’t disclose which team for legal reasons #Gagging #Gagme #Gagged.

10 minutes after these good looking men of meat and muscle entered the spa area I was bent over the side of the tub with two parked in the back and one in the front. Sure such an event is formally known as a bukkake but to me, I simply called it Tuesday. I just about managed a poke from each pork chop before a rather infuriated security guard ran in to break up the party. Sure, I’ve since acquired a life time ban from every David Lloyd health club on the planet but to be honest, since their cancelation policy makes it harder to leave a contract than a party at Michael Barrymore’s house I see it as a lucky escape.

What a shame it was better managed by virgin active and I thought their service was disgraceful!! DL just take it to the next level. Incompetent and rude staff. Just because you spent money redoing the club doesn’t mean your customer service should decline.
It’s all happy smiles and constant harassment when they want your money and want to sign up but when it comes to cancelling (and) within your legal rights they ignore your calls, your emails don’t get answered I could go on but I’m sure judging by the other reviews I’m not the only one who has dealt with this experience. I will say though head office staff have their head screwed on and actually get the job sorted.

I was all ready to join renfrew gym but they wanted a £60 joining fee on top of the £105 a month. Was very disappointed with that. It is a lot of money as it is and I'm surprised they make you pay to join. I'm just going to go to pure gym instead, which isn't as nice but only £20 a month with no joining fee.

We have been member at David Lloyed Raynes Park for almost 8 years. We gave our 3 months notice to cancel our membership in October 2019, they then took payment in January and February 2020, eventually refunded us, but we still received emails demanding payment. We spoke with them tonight just to be told “I did call the dept collectors today and told them to stand down as it was a mistake on our side, oeps sorry!” I am honestly at a lost for words!! Definitely do not value their members. This took 5 months to sort out. Very unprofessional.

Leeds Club have rude and untrained staff including the little chap in the restaurant who claims to be a manager! Zero value to customers or customer service so do yourselves a favor - don't sign up!

Tried to charge for a 3 month old baby to use their pool - which was a joke!

Aggressive sales staff which makes customers leave in droves! Changing rooms filthy and need a good scrub but with constant staff turnover - this never happens!

Joke of a company!

David Lloyd Northwood is Rubbish.

Toilets smell, spa is as we speak diabolical. Massively overcrowded, parking a nightmare at any time and you will get lied to by the sign up team.

If you have another option, take it. Wish I hadn't joined.

My experience at David Lloyd Beaconsfield has been terrible since joining last September. Most of the staff are unfriendly, have been rude (mainly on reception), unhelpful and it seems like we are members of a much cheaper gym. I actually had one instructor make me cry in a spinning class as I picked up my phone for one minute and he started to shout at me in front of the whole class. We’re now being asked to ‘donate’ the money we are owed for when the club has been closed in March/some days of July. Lots of people cannot afford this and the communication is just awful. No idea on when the club will open but they are finding ways to make more money out of us. Avoid this company, I cannot wait to end my membership.

I live in Shropshire and I worked in Birmingham for three days a week and thought I could use the facilities whilst working there.

Before I joined the gym i asked them if it was ok for me to cancel my membership as I was having problems at work and may have to leave my current position in Birmingham. The sales woman told me that this will not be a problem and my membership will be cancelled.

I left my job at the end of August 2019, however I had not yet informed David Lloyd because I was having health problems.

In November I had surgery in both of my eyes and was told not to do any exercises of physical activity. I called David Lloyd and explained about my eye surgery and that I am no longer working in Birmingham. She told me to send her my p45. I sent her the p45 and cancelled my direct debit.

As soon as I cancelled I began get lots of calls from them every day. I explained that I have already sent my p45 but it appeared that they weren’t going to accept that.

In January I was rushed in an ambulance for aerial fibrillation and other heart issues. On 27 January I had a heart surgery. I was told not to do an physical activity for at least 8 weeks. I was having breathing issues and found it difficult even to talk.

David Lloyd forwarder my account to a debt collection agency called ARC and then I began to revive threatening letters. This made me get even more stressed considering that I was told to keep my stress levels to a minimum.

ARC demanded that I pay the full 12 month contractual payment of the remainder of £586. I have been off work since my surgery and have been extremely stressed with the way I was dealt by David Lloyd.

Since joining David Lloyd I have only managed to attend about 3 times.

After receiving numerous threatening and rude phone calls, on 18 March 2020 I have cleared the total sum of £586 as I do not wish to have an impact on my credit score. I have never been so disappointed in a company.

David Lloyd are not interested whether your health condition is permitting you to attend the facilities or not. I wish I had never joined and will advise people to join another club.

David Lloyd are only interested in money and not your health. Please do not consider David Lloyd.

I have paid them over £800 for the membership. They do not care whether you have a surgery or your health has deteriorated.

I am absolutely disgusted the way they treated me and do not wish anyone to go through this traumatic experience. When you have a heart condition, these kind of threats only deteriorate your condition.

They spend Harbour club Kensington all the time and never looked at the Kensington club bad condition also David Lloyd Leeds child Rocco dead it was there fault too coz they never take seriously . He said one single lifeguard should manage 50 people also cut lifeguard budgets so funny excuse Stephen brown . David Lloyd the company always hiring lifeguard from agency and spend ten times and all lifeguards without paper and qualifications too. All they want to see someone poolside oh doesn't matter if someone died or accident. Stephen brown said no body complaints oh dear so 10/9 people complaining but they never listening . I would say you have no idea about management skills or dudgy way working all those leisure industry like added to your profile. Think about before given bad excuse . They should get fined 1billion coz bad excuse not enough to safe people life also cheat on club members and take money from them with bad excuse . I used to work for David Lloyd leisure as senior manager but how they treat people specially staff absolutely joke . Health and safety 0% . All the time they give it to staff piece of paper to sign for monthly training but they never training staff ..how to reduce accident. Club manager Mehdi can't even speak English and explain members how to sort out the problem. I wouldn't blame him coz all those director every day enjoying harbour club food but never walk around the club problem to sorted and help others. Club conditions very bad... going to accident happening soon . everywhere broken and flooding every month.

David Lloyd Harrogate!

I have just left David Lloyds Harrogate. Unfortunately the management is absolutely diabolical.

After so many years (since 2005)being a member at The Academy. no one bothered to even ask why I was leaving.

I sent few emails to the General Manager who did not bother to reply back.

His assistant manager Vicky is very unprofessional and I felt rather upset they way she talked to me.

Don’t think they care.....

David Lloyds is forcing me to pay £40 suspension fee per month during the Corona Virus outbreak.

I took the decision to stop using the club on the 2 March after discovering there is no sanitising hand gel anywhere in the club.

The formal letter from the area manager stated that irrelevant of hand gel availability or not I am bound to the contract.

I wanted to suspend my membership and then cancel after 3 months so I don't have to pay the full membership for 3 months but they are refusing to do this.

Stay away if you can. The treatment of their customers is appealing.
