Shelford

During my search for a builder last year I was recommended by a friend to shelford who I had never heard of. I spoke with Graham who went over and beyond to try and deliver my expectations within by budget. Beautiful designs although he continually promised his confidence in the design fitting my budget. BUT when pricing came in it was 20k over!! He did his best and got it down another 5k I think but that it still WAY over. He put it down to the estimator not being fair and his boss agreeing with him. Very annoying seeing as I was always promised that house within my budget. A big time waster really but I must say Graham really tried and it is unfortunate that for a small family builder they could not try and give the customer a fair go. Turns out some other guy with the same house as mine got it for 'cost' price as the estimator stuffed that up. Not a great excuse but basically that's what I was given. I ended up building with someone else...

Well i first seen/heard of shelfords with there advertising in the sunday times with there display homes and liked the look of what i seen and decided to check them out in person, and from the moment i set foot in the display home i was impressed with what i seen and right from the start nothing was to hard for George Strnadica to do for me. Being a first home builder/owner and knowing nothing of the process involved in building and the other cost you could come across he explain everything with regards to BAL, salt spec if you build close to the coast, the grade the block is rated at and extra cost that could be involved with earth works and whats included with the house and what you will need to do your self, there were no secrets and surprises, and were very up front and did not push you to sign a contract then and there like other home builders made me feel.George Strnadica was very helpful going out of his way to change the house plan to what i liked and even helping me find the best block of land for my house design, even making the effort to drive to the blocks and eye balling them himself before recommending them to me. Amy Dos Santos from the pre start team was just as helpful and upfront. The construction of my house is at the stage of the roof going on and the workmanship so far has been excellent. In conclusion I am very happy with the quality from shelfords and would recommend them to anyone thats looking to build.

Being my first ever build I was petrified until a friend recommended me to Shelford Quality Homes and sales consultant George Strnadica. George was extremely professional, knowledgeable along with his gentle manner and his PATIENCE was amazing!!! He sat down with me for countless hours until we finally had my dream home sorted!!! We are in construction stage and close to lockup and I cannot praise my supervisor Greg enough and the tradies used for my build so far. Shelford Quality Homes have been outstanding and I highly recommend George and their team to anybody!!!

Having had previous meetings with Shelford Quality Homes, we were introduced to Anne Hatfield who was the salesperson, Anne met with us many times and we found her to be helpful with the whole process, advising us and answering all of our questions.
Once we got to prestart we found Dianne & her team to be very professional and worked with us every step of the way.
The site supervisor was Neale Southgate, who we had direct access to, went above and beyond to make sure everything was as it should be, he was very efficient and meticulous.
We would highly recommend Shelford Quality Homes, the service they offered from Start to finish was first class, well done to all involved.

I was very happy with the quality and build time, taking around 5 months. I was also very happy with Anne the sales rep, pre start, office staff and the entire build team with their workmanship and service.
Like everything in life, small issues arise but Shelford homes were very fast to rectify these issues in a timely manner for the best outcome. The final cost after many variations came in over my initial budget however I am more than happy with all the variations and would not change a thing. I would highly recommend Shelford and the team as a Quality Builder.

I have recently built my investment property with Shelford. From the get go they are willing to help and offer all types of advice that will benefit the end product. The House has come up exceptionally well. They really live up to their name Quality Homes!!! All of the staff are knowledgeable and if I any questions there was no hesitation in trying to get myself an answer. I have recommended Shelford Homes to numerous people on my experience, which was seamless.

Being our first ever build, we were well guided through the planning stages with our sales consultant, George Strnadica. He was very patient with us and our many queries and changes in order to get our house plan perfect. Which I think we really have done! We were recommended to Shelford through family members who had built with them recently and also from people working on the ground in the building industry, so once we had met with them and started discussions, we knew this was the builder we wanted to go with.
From the beginning, the whole process has been very smooth sailing and no stress either. Amy, our Pre-start consultant has been very helpful in advising us on our selections and keeping us up to date on what will happen next etc.
We are so excited for construction to commence in the coming weeks, and have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone!

February 5th 2018 Update: Build complete, we are thrilled

Our home build commenced in July and was so well organised. All trades did a great job and there was a good continuous flow of work done.
We had handover in late November and had very little issues (very minor) with the final inspection, the couple things picked up were immediately rectified straight away without question.
The quality of the home is very good, from the structure to the concrete pad laid, mesh in footings, (which most companies don’t do anymore) tiling and fixtures.
Needless to say we are thrilled with the home and the build quality.We would recommend Shelford to anyone!

I had heard that building was a stressful experience, however from the very first meeting with George to final handover with Shannon all went smoothly with this build. The supervisor Bob was excellent, answered all calls promptly and the one and only minor issue I noticed was attended to and rectified immediately. All work by all trades was done to high standard and in a timely manner. The site was always kept clean and tidy.
