Overall very happy with the build, well finished, trades were all great and finished house in less than 6 months.
When we had queries and questions during the planning and build process we were always answered quickly which was great.
Only negative was after hearing non stop about ventura being all about the inclusions vs cheaper builders, we felt really dissappointed when it came to choosing our fixtures and fittings. Cheap and nasty driveway pavers, choice of two sinks, cheap plastic toilet seats and very basic blind selections. Just a shame you chose to skimp on these items for a few extra dollars as it left us feeling we'd been lied to as friends who built with budget builders were able to choose better qualuty fittings from same companies at no extra cost.
Overall great house, service and build and we would recommend. Just a shame it was let down at the end by the final selections of fixtures/fittings being very cheap and not very nice considering how we were consistently told we were paying extra for a premium product in ventura and it was these things where we'd see the difference.

1. The building supervisor was efficient, he was very experienced on building homes.
2. Brickwork, plastering, painting and etc, were great, overall build quality is very good.
3. Customer service and support was very helpful.

Hedy, the interior designer, was also great. It was a shame we could not get her input in other areas such as the lighting to tie together the interior design.
Your Home Consulting (YHC) were the electrical advisors and they were hopeless. We actively asked for recommendations and were given none. We were not sold or explained smart wiring but just advised to do our own research. We asked our YHC consultation three times if our home would need three phase power and were advised it did not. At the last minute we found out it did need it. I think our sales consultation was new but she should have been given much more training before being left alone in her role. There are many electrical components I wish I had installed which will be much more complicated to install now the build is complete.
I found the prestart and design process slow and pain staking. The rushed single day turned into weeks for decisions to be made. The prestart team seem to only execute their job in a specific order which can result in frustrating delays. For example - I waited 6 weeks for an updated plan only to discover it had not even been submitted to drafting because they were waiting on a retaining plan from me. The retaining plan in question had nothing to do with the house plan but merely the placement of the back fence.
There were some delays in the build due to some poor scheduling early on but as the build progressed our supervisor really stepped up. With all the delays early on the overall build was around 12 months, which I think was fantastic considering the style and size of the build.
We were very happy with our site supervisor Walter. He is very busy and conversations often felt rushed. Perhaps too many houses on his workload? You are not allowed to have the direct mobile number of your site supervisor. We were lucky enough to get hold of his number indirectly and it was great having direct communication when we needed it. I can understand the importance of processing communication through the customer liaison but sometimes you needed a quicker communication channel. A quick phone call to clarify anomalies on the addenda saved time and money.
Walter seemed to get on well with his trades and was respectful in his communication. His tiler, Roy and the painting team were great – friendly, professional, helpful – If I built again I would insist on them. We were impressed with all the trades we came across on site. They all came across very professional.
One quick note about the cleaning lady who started the builders clean. She was the slowest cleaner I have ever seen. I saw the house the morning she arrived and 5 hours later and could not notice any difference. Once the cleaning team arrived the following week things improved but the first 3 days were a waste of money.
Our customer liaison office, Donna, was great. She sorted out problems quickly and handled customers well. Sometimes she was difficult to get hold of. There seems to be lots of red tape which cause delays and can be frustrating – an upper management process issue I think.
We noticed a few problems during the final finishing trades. Wrong pantry shelves and wrong island bench colour. Getting these things fixed was a mission. The pantry was rectified but the island bench was not. I selected the island bench colour with Hedy but somewhere along the chain of communication the colour was missed. Our site supervisor and customer liaison tried to help rectify the problem but it was out of their hands and tied up in the red tape of upper management.
Overall we are really happy with the build quality and would build again with Ventura. On a big house build there is going to be issues to work through with any builder. Ventura handled themselves professionally and with integrity.

I am very happy with the workmanship and build quality, there were only a few defects that were noticed that were fixed very quickly. There was also no issues with the costings provided and everything went according plan with the construction process.
I want to give a big thank you to Larnie, Belinda and Walter who did a fantastic job in being attentive to my needs and went out of their way to have meetings etc at times that fit around my busy work schedule.

As it stands today, we are still waiting for a loud thud noise to be rectified in our living area - presumably to do with the steel beams contracting/expanding.
We are due to have our 6 month maintenance in the next few weeks, and can only hope that a high attention to detail will be applied then, after our subpar experience so far.

Quality was spot on with pci creating very few jobs and ones we question have been followed up and rectified.
Happy to go again with Ventura.

Slab went down on 2nd of July. After the slab went down, our nightmare begun.
We were given the worst ever supervisor in the building industry.
The bricklayers (sorry bricklayer and his one labourer) took their time with our project. They worked very closely with the meteorologist department, so close that anytime there was an expected drizzle, they stayed away from site It took over 3 months for brick work to be completed. Was it really completed, after 7 months, in February, a whole internal wall was brought down to fix, part of the ceiling was brought down and there are still lots to be fixed.
The main entrance door is still not fixed, we always pick something new that needs fixing anytime we get the chance to enter.
Now work has just stalled because for the third time, they are changing supervisors again or actually we don't have one as I write this review.
We are on our third liaison officer and I won't be surprised to hear that there is a change in that sector too.
When you talk about it, they tell you they are not behind according to the contract because they are allowed "250 working days." Basically they take their time whilst others are building and handing over in 26 weeks.
They don't care one bit about you and your project, especially after they have collected majority of the contract money.
It is unfortunate that by the time someone will go to the length to read this review, they might have signed up already and are going through the same pain as we are.
At this stage, my lender doesn't understand why Ventura is taken 4 months to come and ask for the final payment.
Others who started about 10 weeks after us have moved into their houses, we don't even know what is happening to ours. They are now saying commissioning with works being reworked at all times.
My advice to anyone who wants to build with Ventura, please think carefully and make sure you take your time to read every bit of the contract before you sign, take time to make all changes and don't think that they will help you with any design changes because that is where they will be preying on youto make extra money.
Also, make sure that you involve an independent building inspector, whatever they charge, it is worth every cent if you are building with Ventura.

The management side of things was pretty good although we did lose our site supervisor not sure why, however the replacement supervisor was very good.i think you should be able to contact your supervisor at some stage just to stay in touch with what is happening.
The customer service was quite poor lack of communication promised regular updates this did not happen.

We initially payed $3000 deposit with a well known builder, stating that as long we felt you are being honest we were happy to continue. They weren't....
The second appeared to be going well so we paid their $1500 deposit.....
It was by chance that we bumped into Simon Mort over the Xmas period locking up a display home. I explained our scenario to Simon, feeling he may be just another sales rep after business, mentioning that we were close to signing off with our second choice builder and all appeared well up to this stage.
We were happy for him to view our plan but felt he would be wasting his time however, we could not of been more wrong.
Simon totally changed the design of our house, to suit our sub division, explaining that it was totally the wrong way around to suit the suns orientation and gave us so much more cost saving advice which we hadn't considered.
It was a no brainer to write off our second deposit and we signed with Simon on the strength of his advice and knowledge, which in turn has saved us much more money in the long run.
We have just completed a very enjoyable colour selection with Hedy and our Pre Start is at the final stages of completion with the more than helpful Stef.
We will keep posting updates as we go through the building process with Ventura and would strongly recommend speaking with Simon Mort, before you put pen to paper with anyone else and are happy to answer any personnel messages sent.

Wondering if this was all too good to be true, we continued on our research journey, looking at other builders and speaking to their consultants. Many display villages and conversations later, our initial thoughts were confirmed - Clint and Ventura were the right home building team for us.
Clint helped us find a fantastic lot of land and translated our house dreams into a great design. Finance Broker, Yasmin has also been super helpful. Both are very professional, accommodating, and responsive. Nothing has been too much trouble.
Thanks, guys. We're now looking forward to pre-start and beginning construction. Keep up the great work!

There were a few mistakes made during the build but these were all rectified as soon as they were highlighted. The final build quality is fantastic and we are very happy with our new home!
Special mentions for Shannon (Sales), Belinda (Client Liaison) and Stuart (Site Supervisor) who were dedicated to ensuring our home was built to our specifications - a great team!
Thanks very much!

We have also been looking at building again and, with no doubt we would use Ventura again.
