I have placed 3 orders with Hand Tools in the last three weeks. 2 have arrived and the third is being processed. This company's only flaw (and it's minor) is that it's sometimes a little slow to ship the item out. (Just be patient, it will come) However, the great selection and competitive prices far outweigh that one issue and I will definitely use them again. Don Maulden, Buena Vista, GA

I DO NOT recommend Hand-Tools.com. I placed an order almost two weeks ago. I did not get an email confirmation or receipt until today, and I have not received my order. I had to send them two emails, one phone call and register a complaint with PayPal. Finally, I received an email receipt with a tracking number, but it has not been sent. If you call customer service, it immediately goes to voicemail.

I ordered a discontinued product (Kershaw Steven Seagal Folding Knife). They had the best price from all of the available merchants and the delivery was nice and fast.
I only can recommend this online store to everyone.

I just placed the order yesterday
emailed them a question about the order after a placed it they responded quickly and UPS already has the shipping information
if everything continues to move this quickly and smoothly I would definitely recommend hand-tools.com

My son had a favorite lighter which he lost somewhere in his travels. After a search on the internet, I tracked the same model and design down to Hand-Tools. I ordered on December 13 in hopes that it would come in time for Christmas. The online order process was smooth; notification followed promptly; and the lighter was in my home in plenty of time for the holidays. My son was delighted, as was I. Unhesitatingly, I would use this business again.

I ordered three zippo lighters on a Friday afternoon (2/12/10 and received a order conformation immediatetly that same day. The following Sunday afternoon 2/14/10 I received a "Order Shipping Notification" telling me the order was processed and was scheduled for shipping the next day 2/15/10. Included in the order shipping notification was the UPS tracking #. That is great service! Most online stores would have waited till monday. On top of all the great service, they actually had the best prices on the lighters I ordered. Their selection of Zippo Lighters was vast and extensive. Hand-Tools.com has definitely been added to my favorites.

Very pleased with my order and the customer service received. I ordered a limited edition knife that I had been unable to locate anywhere else. When I contacted Hand-Tools.com, I spoke with a very nice lady, named Amy, who carefully explained that they would be able to get the knife, but it would be a few days before they would have the knife to ship to me. A few days later, I was getting anxious and called for a status report. I was assured my order would arrive at Hand-Tools by Wednesday of that week and they would immediately ship it to me. They were true to their word.
During the whole time, Amy was patient, courteous, respectful and provided me with the information I needed. A rarity these days. Again, I am VERY PLEASED with the service received and the quality of the product ordered. I will be doing business with Hand-Tools.com again.

I ordered two Zero Tolerance knives on Oct 18, received UPS shipment notice on Oct 19. Then, on Oct 22, they told me that at least one of the on my order is backorder. My credit card was charged in full on Oct 18. So, still waiting.

I bought a long discontinued knife from Hand-Tools.Com,
and had it within a week complete with tracking #.
They have a record of what is in stock, so no worries.
Shipping was a little slow, but very reliable.

I ordered a Bark River Bravo 1. Requested my name engraved on knife if it fits, if not my initials. These guys did my initials in lower case and tried to tell me that wasn't weird as people request it all the time.

They also sent me a sheath made of leather instead of the kydex sheath I ordered. They do not want to help me at all after several emails per Bertha.

Stay FAR FAR AWAY!!! The lower price isn't worth it!!!

I ordered a knife from them over a week ago (3/19/2012). The item showed IN STOCK. My bank account was IMMEDIATELY deducted. I received my first email that afternoon, stating that my order had been confirmed. I then received my SHIPMENT NOTIFICATION later that evening. BEWARE - They mislead you by printing a shipping label immediately upon ordering, you receive an electronic notification, thinking you item had shipped, but it hasn't. I sent them an email - NO REPLY. I even posted on their Facebook page, hoping to get a reply - they DELETED my post and made it where I couldn't comment on their page. I will be contacting my bank and starting the proceedure to cancel the transaction.

I placed an order with this company some time in early December and received no order confirmation or email of any kind. A week or so later, having received no notice of my order or of shipping, I emailed the company to request a cancellation. I was informed by a representative (who curtly insisted that they HAD sent me an order confirmation) that it was too late to cancel the order as "it has already shipped." Two or three days later I received an email stating that the shipping label had only just been created and the order was about to be shipped out – the rep had apparently simply lied about the order being shipped.

I contacted them again and voiced my dissatisfaction with this, as they could have (and should have) canceled my order as it had not even shipped as the representative had falsely claimed. The same representative then (rudely and dismissively, I might add) gave me some vague spiel about how they can't cancel orders due to their shipping policies. She even flatly stated that it takes up to 11 days(!) for them to ship out orders. On what planet is this an acceptable level of service?

It's clear that this company is a drop-shipping operation – they do not keep much of their inventory on hand and thus order/ship it from elsewhere. This results in long shipping times, miscommunication, and poor service in general, as was displayed here. The rude customer service rep also informed me that if I wished to make a return, they have a 20% restocking fee. Not only is this wildly excessive, but I can tell you (having run an online business for years myself) that "restocking fees" are nonsense. It costs nothing to accept returns – it's a tactic to pressure customers into NOT making returns. "Restocking fees" are a shady practice you typically see with fly-by-night ebay sellers, not professional businesses.

TL;DR: Four strikes with this company: 1) It took almost two weeks for my initial order to even ship out (with no order confirmation email). 2) Despite this, they curtly refused to cancel my order days before it shipped. 3) Rude and dismissive customer service. 4) Extortive 20% "restocking fee." Take your money to a professional business who actually values your custom, there are plenty out there. No clue how this amateur hour company has so many positive reviews – their service is abysmal on every level, all the way down. Avoid.
