Cancelled my 'free cancellation' booking on the 7th March and I've still had no refund. I occasionally receive automated emails to let me know they've not forgotten me... Great thanks? Then on the 27th April I receive an email asking if I still need assistance?! ?‍♂️ Do yourself a favour and steer clear! Book direct with the hotel's and parking companies and cut these charlatens out.

I was about to change to NIB when I realised I could get the same policy with Qantas and get a large number of frequent flyer points at the same time. However I was soon to learn that, that this is all this policy is worth, the frequent flyer points. Their customer service is appalling. I was given misleading information from the very first conversation I had with someone. I had to call up to query the payments they had taken from my account as the amount I was told I would be charged and what was actually taken from my account differed. Then when I went to make my first claim it was declined. Upon appeal it was paid - apparently an admin error. Then when I went to make the same claim again, it was declined again and this is where I realised their customer service team were completely inexperienced and out of their depth. By this point I had received my frequent flyer points so I contacted NIB and left. Who needs the stress of claims being incorrectly declined, alongside incompetent staff. Avoid this health fund unless you are joining purely for the qantas frequent flyer points.

After decades of travel and several policies with Worldcare, I recently made my first insurance claim. It was a significant amount as we had to cancel a cruise in the Baltic due to an injury. The process with Worldcare/ Allianz was very simple; communication with my case manager was excellent and the few additional information requests they made were justified. Payment was made very quickly and I could not be happier. Quite an unusual feeling about insurers!

Took out travel insurance with Travel Card in September 2019 for travel to China in March 2020. Travel company cancelled trip end February 2020. Started claim from Travel Card immediately. “Pandemic “ not a term being used by WHO at this stage. Travel Card claim for refund refused. Phone call from them unsatisfactory. Email follow up inferred we had cancelled not travel company and quoted pandemic in T&Cs. 2 days before proposed travel date in March, Travel Card sent 2 SMS advising us to “ take care & have a happy & safe trip”!!! Matter now escalated to AFCA. Will not use Travel Card again and will also refer matter to Teachers Health as they use Travel Card as their travel insurance provider. Most unprofessional and appalling service. So much for taking out travel insurance immediately . Not even a policy refund or partial refund offered.

After having spent more than 1000 EUR for a year long travel insurance for my travels to Latin America I was extremely disappointed and unhappy with the way World Nomads handled my claim. In a nutshell: I had taken out an additional special insurance for my phone in case it gets stolen and lo and behold, that's exactly what happened. When making a claim for that very object, I was told that the way it was stolen does not qualify (say whaaaat!?!?). I can't say it was a very friendly exchange of emails, which of course added insult to injury, seeing as this sort of thing is every traveller's nightmare and World Nomads should know this! I was lucky enough not to have any other major issues happen to me during my travels but this experience was enough to make me boycott World Nomads for my future travels.

I purchased this travel insurance because honestly it was one of the first links that popped up on Google. I was traveling to Indonesia. I purchased this mid-trip. A day after I purchased the insurance, I was in an accident that required a trip to the ER. I had to have stitches and some dental work done. The whole thing came to couple hundred USD, so I paid out of pocket. When I got back home, I submitted ALL of my documents, thinking that it'd be a simple process. I had a medical claim that fell under their policy, so they should cover it, right? It's been more than a month since I filed my claim. They send me pointless messages, informing me that they are reviewing the case. They've asked for document after document (i.e. they even wanted me to submit this international medical bill to my insurance. Why the hell would I buy travel insurance if my home insurance covered overseas expenses?) It's as if they are finding excuse after excuse to delay the process. I've had enough with this nonsense. I'm going to ask that my credit card company reverse the charges because it's obvious Travel Nomads are scammers that'll take your money but not reimburse you for valid claims. I regret not reading these reviews before making my purchase. Avoid at all costs!

I paid almost $2000 for 1 year of worldwide cover, it was my first trip overseas so I wanted to get the best cover possible just in case! About 6months into my trip I had my suitcase stolen from a bus station and AussieTravelCover will not pay my claim as my bag was 'unattended in a public area'. Which would be understandable if it actually was unattended and I had not been standing withing touching distance of the bag at a vending machine! I thought that's what travel insurance was for?! I turned my back for 10 seconds and when I turned back around the bag was gone. When my insurance was sold to me the agent told me a story about how he had fallen asleep on a bus in South America and had his bag stolen and AussieTravelCover paid within a few days, so my argument to them was, how is falling asleep for a few hours considered not leaving your bag unattended but turning your back for a few seconds is? They took weeks and weeks and finally got back to me saying it was my fault as I hadn't read the PDS correctly and I had the chance to cancel within their cooling off period, which both seemed irrelavent at this stage. I am now taking my claim to the Financial Ombudsmen Service. Expensive, very long and drawn out process to make a claim, very long response times, everything is still done by filling out multiple forms rather than conveniently lodging online like a lot of companies now.

As a Travel Agent I sold Aussie travel cover to my clients for 10 years. They use to treat claims in a fair manner. Now they seem to have lost the plot. The claims department is full of ill trained personnel and their main objective is to delay claims and seeking a way out of paying up. A true example of a good family business ruined.

Had to cancel flights to Mexico City because of the 2017 earthquakes. City in ruin, economy stopped, the job I was meant to be doing over there put on indefinite hold. No Worries Insurance refused to cover on the basis that the Australian Government did not ban travel to the area. Very disappointed.

Pure waste of time do not bother with this pathetic company. have provided everything they have asked for and more but they continue to ask for stuff i assume for me to just give up or run out of time before end of claim period.
