Ash was fine as a plumber, but the aftercare has been dreadful! He knew our job was for an insurance repair but he hasn't responded to weekly calls and emails from our insurance company needing simply a verbal confirmation of a cost. This review is based on the customer service after a purchase and when you are outside “12 month” guarantee. The roller on a shower door had broken. So I emailed the customer support. All I wanted was a part number or even better a link to the product so I could purchase the part. Instead I had a reply with links to 5 websites to trawl through. I’ve gone through two already with no success. I think this is very poor. When I’ve done the same with other purchases from other companies I’ve had a direct link. Surly their purchase or quality control could of assisted

We've had a very disappointing two year experience with The Shower Repair Centre. The waterproofing of our showers had problems after 6 months and after requesting to have them come out and fix it per the 25 year warranty, they have avoided our emails/calls and to come out and fix it. They had claimed that we used the bathroom within 24 hours as opposed to letting it dry. We have 3 bathrooms in our house, why would we need to use the one repaired? And we actually waited 72 hours before using the bathroom. Be warned as they make excuses to avoid having to fulfil the warranty! We were forced to spend another $2,000 to get it fixed elsewhere. From reading the other reviews that have been posted it looks like we aren't the first and certainly not the last. In the interest of your home, wallet and mental health, please stay away from this company. We've sent a complaint to VCAT and the Domestic Building Dispute Resolution Victoria. Save yourself this hassle!

The shower repair centre was engaged by my strata manager last year to repair a leak to the balcony causing water stains to my ceiling. Ever since a tiler first came out, I have had nothing but issues with the poor quality of work, numerous site visits by many different sub-contractors to the shower repair centre, and an overall absolute waste of my time. They had to come out to my property 5 times over a period of 4 months to finally resolve the issue, and clean up their mess, though the grouting remains very inconsistent and skirting tiles were never cleaned properly. This company just sub contracts the work out to whoever they can, though there was 1 tiler who actually works for them who came in to clean up the mess as best he could. It really is just the luck of the draw if you get someone half decent. I would never trust them to touch another tile in my house, and highly advise against engaging this company for any work.

Ultra Glaze CBR completed 2/3 of agreed work at the beginning of May 21, paid in full on the day however now they will not return emails or calls to complete agreed work. I have used the Wollongong franchise previously which went well. However when I went back to use him again the price had doubled for a bath... to what is really an unreasonable amount. Maybe the building boom has caused a supply and demand issue, however when I asked for an explanation I got no reply.

Over 7 hours late, and then charged me approx $500 to screw on a new tap. I could have gone to Bunnings and done it myself for $15. Unfortunately, according to Jim's it would have cost another $500 to actually fix the toilet!!!! We felt we had no option but to pay the money at the time because shops were shut by the time the plumber arrived (7 hours late), and we needed to be able to turn the water back on. NOTE: We fixed the toilet ourselves for just $25!! Could have done it ourselves originally, but hubby has heart failure, (and although I ultimately fixed this myself, I didn't know what I was doing at the time!) 3rd time using this company, and I will never, never, never use them or their sister companies again. Words can not express my bitter disappointment with this company. For transparency: I sought to get a refund from Jim's Plumbing, but they would only refund the call out fee ($132). After contacting the Qld Office of Fair Trading who are quite toothless in this area, I had to accept that this was some small consolation for the over priced and disgusting service that we received!

Charged $297 for replacing two washers, plus unsuccessful attempt to repair kitchen tap. Bill included $90 for turning up, $132 for one hour, plus $48 charge for 'materials' i.e. two tap washers. Business owner explained that installing tap washers involves lots of steps (apparently it takes at least "15 mins"), and said that materials (tap washers and lube) cost money. $48. Really? A very costly lesson - I will never use them again.

Fixed a minor tap issue today, however a few weeks ago fixed a leaking toilet that two other plumbers were not able to. Also fixed a laundry tap issue that the other plumbers didn’t know what to do with, ended up being a neat solution.

Charged my grandfather over $900 for 1 hr job. If the issue was fixed that was fine but issue came back again in a week's time and these unethical heartless people wants to charge again. After chasing up for 6 hrs finally and arguing for hrs with different people some one came out and redid few things again. Never giving them business again and recommending these people

We had an emergency with flooding at 630 at night. Rather than charging us for emergency call out, we were talked through what needed to be done to stop the water gushing out. Then Matty turned up at 730 the next morning and quickly and professionally fixed our problem. We will definitely use Killara Plumbing again - thanks guys!

Predatory Pricing - should be investigated by Plumbing Industry Association In short, Sam’s Local Plumbing (Sam’s LP) charged a $108.90 call out fee and had the gall to look me in the eye and quote a staggering $1,850 (including GST) to rectify a leaking pipe (see below), which after I rejected Sam’s LP quote, another plumber subsequently quoted and fixed for $400 (inc GST). At 4.5 times higher Sam LP’s quote was both predatory and their conduct therefore unconscionable. In hindsight I think when you are subject to a callout fee, how could any reasonable person (or Industry Association) even call this a quote? And on that basis is the callout fee, even legally enforceable? I’m not a lawyer, but I reckon the verbal contract when I booked Sam’s LP’s attendance was that I agreed to pay a call out fee and that Sam’s LP agreed to provide something in return i.e. a service or a quote. The quote provided was so far beyond the pale I contend a reasonable man would not even deem it a quote, rather it was a predatory fishing expedition and a complete waste of my time and money. Clearly I am not alone, judging by the high number of similar predatory quotes and poor workmanship documented in all the 1 star “Product Reviews” and “Google Reviews”. This type of behaviour erodes client trust and hurts the plumbing industry, and the vast majority of its hardworking members. Note you will see from the reviews of Sam’s LP that virtually all of them are either 1 star or 5 stars. Statistically the absence of 2, 3 or 4 star reviews is unusual. Other reviewers have commented that the 5 star reviews appear to be fabricated, and the glowing praise but generic tone of the 5 star reviews just does not jell with the level of detail, cost escalations, hurt and anger described by those who are perhaps Sam’s LP’s only ‘real’ customers those who have penned the 1 star reviews. At the time of writing, there was a total of 238 reviews across the 2 rating platforms, of which there were a total of only FIVE ratings that were either 2,3 or 4 stars, this is not statistically plausible, possible yes, but very very unlikely, especially given the divergence of view from the remaining 233 reviewers. With 82 clients rating them 1 star and the remaining 151 rating them 5 star. The other twist, is that the average rating in Google Reviews (from 169 reviews) is 4.3 stars, whilst Product Reviews (from 69 reviews) has them at 1.8 stars. Detail on my water pipe leak: Leaking Hot Water Pipe to bathroom Vanity sink (refer pics) - Before calling Sam's LP, I identified location of leak, behind back wall of cabinet and therefore not directly accessible. However I could see there would be relatively simple bypass options of drilling through floor of cabinet to connect with the feeder supply pipe that I had located below floor level and that I had also enabled good access to after small excavation (refer pics). I then requested Sam's LP attend, suggest remedy, and quote. Sam’s LP agreed with both my diagnosis of where the leak was located and my suggested bypass options to re-plumb and connect approximately 0.8m of copper pipe. So given Sam’s LP were prepared to quote such an excessive price to a person who had a handle on both where the leak was located and a viable solution, speaks to the level of greed and profiteering by this player. Anyway, left with a torched $108.90 call out fee and a still leaking pipe, thankfully I thought of another interim solution..... “Please cut that copper supply pipe, above ground level but below the level of the leak and Cap it”. For which I had the pleasure of paying another $108.90 for less than 10 minutes work. If I had my time again, I would NOT have paid the call out fee, and would have defended any subsequent action by Sam’s LP to claim it. You live and learn, I write this only to help others, good luck to all. Oh and please don’t be shy or embarrassed documenting your own experience with SAM’s LP especially on Google Reviews to help warn others. Note - callout was during normal business hours, subsequently shuffled 4 times by Sam’s LP before they finally attended, and the leak intensity was ‘dribbling’, i.e. not a burst gushing pipe. The pictures are after the fix.

Called for some work to be completed and informed i had appointment at 11am they advised could be there at 8am. I got the kids up and ready early so we didn't get in there way and by 10.30 they finally called to say they would be a BIT late. I messaged them to ask if they be coming soon as i had appointment and nothing. At 11.30 whilst at my appointment i get a call saying i will be there at 12. Then i get a message to say they cant wait and have to go to another job. What a joke.

A lovely guy, but one who cut many corners to get the job done, which was to install 2 new bathrooms. He apologised for doing so, but we have had numerous issues since. Pencil marks were left on the splash backs. the sealant was poorly done and we had leaks on several occasions, including loos. The shower water units were installed back to front so you have to use the showers in reverse. Kickboards weren't properly installed. The pump to the 2 new showers they installed isn't working properly, (its barely 3 months old) and we are currently down to one meagre shower for 6 of us. Oh, and a loo has started leaking again. Frustrating. EDIT: They since sent someone within an hour to sort. So i have up rated. Typically the issues we had were not immediately visible. (although we had recorded proof). But again he was lovely and did what he could to prevent the issues re-occurring. We now have 3 showers working. So Im less frustrated than i was this morning. But there have still been too many issues to give more than 3 stars.

Had H&C Mechanical in to install new combi boiler in April after a recommendation from a work colleague. Jim and his team we first class. They provided quotes with options on boilers which varied in prices, size, quality etc, they carried out there work efficiently and ahead of estimated time schedule. Stripped out and took away our old system boiler and cylinder and installed a new combi and NEST thermostat. Left house tidy and boiler has been working great. Will definitely use again in future. I had a new combi boiler installed and old conventional boiler removed, as well as a few other extra bits to be done. I am very happy with the work. Ben understood exactly what I wanted and completed all work to a very high standard and on time. I also had everything explained to me in detail once the job was complete. The price was good too! After difficulties with my boiler I called Dulwich Plumber Ltd and Paul was prompt and punctual when coming over to diagnose the problem. The professionalism and quality of service surpassed all expectations. Paul was clear in showing me and explaining the available options for repair and replacement and carried out the job quickly and efficiently within both the time frame and estimate. I'm extremely happy with all the work carried out and my property was left clean and tidy after the job was completed. Paul from Dulwich Plumbers has done a considerable amount of work for me, including installing and servicing a boiler, removing an old water tank, adding new radiators, sorting out problems with water hammer and carrying out landlord's gas safety checks. I have found him to be honest, capable and reliable. Unlike a lot of plumbers I have used, he listens to what you have to say. I would have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone.

Was very impressed with the Simon, the engineer who installed the water softener and filter. The quality of the installation is superb (no HEP fittings which I abhor), he thought through the installation and recommended a different layout which provided us with a neat and compact layout. Well organized piping layout and neat soldering, why can’t all engineers take such pride in their work? Also appreciate Anne, who arranged the installation, adjusting their schedule to accommodate us. Very impressed with their attitude. Thank you!

If you had taken the time to read the review you will have read that YOUR engineer broke the tap, if you had taken the time to go into my file your company gave me authorisation to use a private plumber and change the taps and charge you instead of posting a generic response.

Why can't we give a zero stars review? This company will take your money and vanish. I started a home renovation with them in spring 2021, they commenced work and stripped out the house. Then they went AWOL, and have not been heard from since. They've had large sums of money off me, and not completed the project. If others are also taking legal action, maybe we could join forces? I notice from Companies House that apart from Sam Caye (the MD) all other directors have resigned. I also note how many companies he has and how he switches funds between them to hide his takings.

BF is NOT legit. He is a fraudster who talks a good job, takes your money and disappears. He is trying to close his BF company and opening a new one. He is known to Companies house and also trading standards. Sam Caye is a thief and a criminal

Absolutely NOT same day service! Hot tap in bathroom leaking-not turning off fully. Turned off water and took out tap. Could not successfully fix tap so called Samedaytrades at 8 am. Booked in for between the hours of 8 am and 12 pm. Midday came and went with no contact. Called them again and they said they will get a technician to call me. No one called so I rang back. Was put on hold then told ‘sorry the technician was sick so we advised him to have a COVID test. There’s no one else available and the next booking will be Tuesday due to it being Easter !! They were not concerned that I would therefore have no running water for the Easter weekend! I’m really annoyed that they did not inform me earlier that they could not fulfil the appointment so I could make other enquiries with another business, and that it was left up to me to call them twice before I was a told about the technician… if I hadn’t called is still be waiting! Called Metropolitan plumbing and they accommodated me straight away.., they are available 24/7.. more expensive but at least you get proper service
